Our room featured panoramic views of the Kandalama Reservoir, allowing us to wake up to the serene sights and sounds of nature. The property boasts three distinct swimming pools, including an infinity pool that appears to merge with the lake, offering breathtaking vistas. Dining at Heritance Kandalama is a culinary delight. The Kanchana Restaurant offers an extensive buffet with a variety of Sri Lankan and international dishes, all while providing panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Throughout our stay, the staff consistently demonstrated attentiveness and professionalism, ensuring that every aspect of our visit was comfortable and memorable. Heritance Kandalama is more than just a hotel; it's an experience that celebrates the harmony between luxury and nature.

Have to put a scanning system to the guest security,Zero at present,They don’t answer when asked,Hotel or the company AitkinSpence is only after your money,This is from my personal experience,After staying there during the Arugambai terrorist threat and the US,UK and few other countries issued a warning to their citizens,We are from the UK,We were concerned about it they just ignored us,Anyone could have carried explosive inside,Because none of my luggage was scanned.I have asked the hotel and the company for an explanation still no answer, my stay was on 23rd to 25th of oct 2024,,I would tell anyone wants to stay here to check this first.I am attaching few pictures of concern,I did warn them that If there is no response from them my review will be the truth,Still they are not bothered,I have more to write but I will stop here.

Beautiful resort. The decor in the rooms is a bit dated but authentic to the architect. Would like to see the rooms updated a bit but still 100% worth it and would stay here again as is.

Our vacation in kandalama hotel was extraordinary! The view, food, atmosphere and the service were spectacular! And of course the phenomenal architecture of the one and only Mr Geoffrey Bass, which have made this masterpiece.

Great architecture and common area, and integration with its surrounding nature. However, the building showed its age and the room is on the smaller side. 

Although a little far from sigiriya, but beautiful view with lake and hill,also can see the lion rock.There are many local food in breakfast,everything everywhere make you relaxed.

The heritage Kandalama Hotel is in the heart of the Gungal near a lake. The hotel was designed with consideration and respect for the environment, the animals that live there and the nature that surrounds the hotel. The room is cozy and well-equipped and includes a balcony overlooking the jungle. The infinity pool overlooks a lake where elephants and birds stay. We received a pleasant welcome from the hotel staff. The dining room is immersed in green and the breakfast is great. We received excellent service and personal attention from the entire staff at the hotel. We arrived at the hotel without luggage and they made sure to coordinate the arrival of the luggage for us. We liked Nalinda the kind guide from the hotel who took us on a morning tour and since then we became friends. Nalinda took care of our well-being even after we left the hotel. Thank you very much for a pleasant stay. Definitely recommended for those who want to rest and relax in a dreamy place.

Nice service and great view! Specially in the early morning, standing on the terrace waiting for the sun rises, magnificent landscape view and colorful scenery. The decoration and facilities in the room have great taste too.

Amazing hotel, wonderful hospitality and beautiful views. If you’re visiting Danbulla/Sigiriya, I would recommend this place if you’re up for pleasant experience. Special shout-out to one of the staff, tall young chap who works evening shifts (didn’t get his name), aided us with booking a tuk tuk for our early morning trip to sigiriya rock and even checked with us after we came back our trip. Outstanding.
