Paradise Eco-Hub

This place has huge potential as it is an absolutely stunning setting. Unfortunately, a few things let it down for us which are easily remedied; • We had to amend the booking to one night instead of two which we did through *********** a few days in advance of our arrival. We arrived and they didn’t have our booking in the system. They did thankfully have a room available for us so after a short wait we were able to check in. • The room itself was basic which is fine, however a lick of paint would do wonders. Also, the mosquito net around the bed wasn’t big enough so couldn’t shut completely on each side so reasonably pointless. • The sheets were clean but had obviously been on the beds for a while as there was some debris on it. • They advised dinner could have a wait so to pre-order. We went at 6pm and just asked for when would be the soonest - we were told 8.30pm! So we asked if we could get some chips while we wait, they said they’d try-none came. But they did have a birthday party they were catering so this was we assume why there was such a delay. The food was tasty when it came though! The island setting is stunning with amazing views over the lake. We hired a dug out canoe and paddled around the island and saw otters and kingfishers. Went swimming in the lake too. Staff were friendly and helped with bags and gave us the info we needed for making our stay a nice one. Would have happily have stayed another night here, due to the setting but would be great to get the rooms to a slightly better standard to get me to return.

The Lodge is set on an island in Lake Bunyonyi, which makes it a beautiful, peaceful place to unwind and relax after a gorilla/volcano trek. The lodge has its own swimming dock and offers wifi in the reception area/restaurant. Filtered water is also available for refill. The rooms are basic, but spacious and clean and OK for the price. A few things that could be improved: Upon checkout, I was charged for the boat ride to/from the island (around 16USD). This should have been mentioned at the time of booking as there is no other way to get to the lodge. Overall, the food was good but the first night I ordered a whole fish (the most expensive dish on the menu) for dinner and it arrived completely burned, so there was not much left to eat. The hotel uses solar power to generate electricity, which is not sufficient to use a hairdryer. On the day of my departure, breakfast arrived 25 min later than ordered (although I was the only guest), so I had to leave late.

Such a beautiful setting and grounds, lovely views of the lake. A great spot to swim and watch birds. They offer activities like canoeing and hiking too. Staff were super friendly and helpful. We camped in the grounds, with toilets and showers available. The food was good and well priced.

Visited this place for one night. We had a lovely stay in the ‘nest’. I love the idea behind the eco-hub. It’s very ecological and they try the teach the community about (plastic)waste. Very important work. Staying in the nest was a nice experience and we had a great tour on the lake.

Paradise is really the perfect name for this beautiful place in the middle of Lake Bunyonyo. Lovely nests with great view, The service is excellent, the food very delicious. The Lodge has very good eco concept, with composting toilets, filtered drinking water for refill....

Memorable experience and exciting time. We had a memorable time around the islands and on water, the services were very good and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. The food and breakfast was on top

Stay here!!!! You will not find a better place to stay in the Lake Bunyoni area. It’s a piece of paradise. It’s a community run not for profit organization so all your money goes to a good cause. Silus the manager is doing a great job for the larger community. Assistant Managers Comfort and Tom are very good at their jobs and can organize anything you need. They have loads of tours that are interesting and benefit the wider community. Bar staff Isaac and Anisha are so lovely and welcoming. The views from their bar/restaurant area are incredible. Been in Uganda for 3 weeks and chef Moses has prepared the best food I have tasted in the country. Very talented chef! We stayed 5 days but you could stay there a lot longer. Highly recommended!!!!

What an amazing experience this had been! First we were picked up by a colourful boat to reach the island. During the boat trip we could enjoy the unbelievable view of the lake and the islands, have never seen anything like it. On the island itself we were accompanied by friendly staff, a gorgeous view all around the island and tons of beautiful tropical birds. The food was the best we had in whole Uganda and the room was very nice as well. Moreover the profit made in the hotel is used to support the local community, wich makes it even better. Everyone who visits Uganda should come here! 100% would recommend!

The nicest staff, the hottest shower, the best food, the most beautiful view from the restaurant (and any other place in the resort), the biggest football playground, the coldest (and most comfortable) nights and so the longest stay (5 nights) of our one-month-trip in Uganda. The number one choice of our 3 kids (11, 9 and 5years) and also the cheapest of al our stays. Above this all, by staying and spending your money here you support the local community instead of an international investor. We definitely recommend to stay here, make a lake tour, taste the cray fish, play pool with the staff, sit on the terrace and swim in the lake. Thank you very much Silas and the others, you are doing great work and made us feel at home. It was very hard to leave, but we’ll come back to play another football match 😉
