Loved The Villa Singala hotel. Small boutique type hotel with only 26 rooms which are lovely, not huge but have everything necessary and cleaned on a daily basis if required. Very comfy bed and pillows, discreet decor, proper plug in hairdryer (not tethered to bathroom), enough storage space with plenty of good quality clothes hangers. There’s a small fridge and drink making facilities in the room, could do with having mugs instead of teacups and saucers (take your own teabags). There’s also a FREE safe for your valuables. The Continental type breakfast is excellent with everything you could possibly want…fresh pastries, fresh fruit, prepared fruit, cereals and granola, different types of freshly baked bread for toasting, many types of ham, cold meats and cheese, hard boiled eggs, jams, conserves and even peanut butter, fruit juices, many types of teas and great coffee. The bar snacks, sandwiches, pizzas, salads etc served most of the day are aLeo excellent and at great prices. Situated at the end of the Pine Walk promenade, it’s just an easy, pretty walk to excellent restaurants and bars. If you don’t fancy the walk there’s just a short skip across the road to another great restaurant and bar which has a live music evening on Thursdays, it’s starts early and goes on until about 9 pm ish, don’t even have to be there to enjoy it if you have a balcony or terrace. There’s just one very small negative, and it seems to be a Spanish thing, in that there is what they call a desk, with a chair, that could really do with mirror above it which would change it to the essential dressing table that most ladies would like. There’s a full length mirror in the room and a bathroom mirror too. However, the best thing about the Villa Singala is the staff, from Joseph the manager, Elissa, who managed in his absence, the cleaning ladies to the maintenance man. Nothing is too much trouble, they are friendly, kind and accommodating. We will return.
