Alva Hotel Apartments

This hotel was a great find and fantastic value for money. We arrived late in the evening and initially we were disappointed with our room as it was a bit dated. However, by the morning this was all forgotten about as it had everything we needed and was extremely clean. The view from the balcony was fantastic. The room also had good air con. We stayed on a Half Board basis: and it was better than we could have ever imagined. Breakfast was a bit basic in the morning but had a good enough variety. One morning the food looked a bit dried up, but we just asked for fresh food and there was no problem! Coffee from the machine was fine. The best bit was the evening meal. We were the only guests staying Half Board, so instead of a buffet, we just ordered what we wanted from the menu in the restaurant. The food was great! We had something different every night but the Pizza from Flox was amazing. The staff were very friendly all day every day. The pool was great, plenty of sunbeds and a good wee pool bar that played decent holiday music. The hotel is a 3 minute walk from Fig Tree Bay, which is very busy! I would definitely return. The reason I’m not giving 5* is the noise in the evening. If you don’t have earplugs I suggest you invest in a pair. The Love Boat bar is right next door and goes in until after 1am. The cleaners are fantastic, however the trolleys start rolling up and down the corridors pretty early! So not the best sleep during the week (although younger ones might be happy enough with that). Overall it was a great place to stay with the positives outweighing the negatives. I’d definitely stay again. Thanks to everyone at Alva!

Very well located apartment hotel in Protaras. Nice pool and just a few steps from the beautiful Fig Tree Bay beach. The room is somewhat dreary and not too cozy but it definitely has everything you need - especially in the kitchen. Easy to make your own breakfast and enjoy it on the balcony.  The bed and the pillow were not the best and the safety box didn't have a key but overall we were very happy with the room. One incident to mention though; we had a late flight home so we asked the reception for a late check out. We were told it was not possible because there was a reservation for our room immediately after us. Instead they suggested we leave our bags in the luggage room, spend the day at the pool and then go take a shower in a separate shower room. So this is what we did, except we left our bags near the reception since the luggage room is a completely open, unlocked space in another building where anyone can just walk in. Anyway, after we had spent the day by the pool we went to the reception to ask for a hairdryer to borrow for the shower room. There was a different receptionist now who told us there were no dryers to give. When we were a bit disappointed she said "usually in these cases guests ask for a late check out". She seemed quite surprised when we said we did ask the day before. Se started  checking the reservations book and looked even more surprised after looking. She said nothing but her facial expression suggested there may not have been a reservation in our room. Which was also our view of the situation, since we could see our room from the pool and no one showed up by the time we left. That left us wondering if we were lied to and why we couldn't get the late check out. The shower room (through the sign "staff only", next to what seemed to be cleaners break room) was obviously not meant for guests and there was only cold water in the shower. This left a little bit of a bad taste in out mouths but otherwise our stay was nice. A tip; the FLOX Pizzeria connected to the hotel is very, very good!!!

First time I have been to Protaras and I’m glad we chose this place. Well located near the end of the ***** and across the road from Fig Tree Bay. We stayed in a studio apartment 452 which had a lovely sea view. Wi-Fi wasn’t great in the room, I assume that it’s because it’s the furthest away from main building, and the noise from the closest bar goes on until one in the morning. However, once the your balcony doors are closed and the air con is blasting it’s not a big problem. You can always join in the fun as the bar, the Loveboat, has decent entertainment. The staff in the hotel are really friendly and helpful. We had a couple of maintenance issues which were quickly resolved. We had friends staying in a one bedroom studio and it was a real step up in class. Might upgrade when we definitely return in the future.

Excellent hotel. Very clean and staff absolutely brilliant. Hotel is at the end of the ***** and close to fig tree bay beach. Also close to bars and restaurants. Would give this hotel 110%. I have been to several different hotels in Protaras but this one is my favourite.

Very clean and friendly hotel, cleaners came in every day place was spotless, fresh towels every day. Very friendly staff nothing was 2 much trouble, night man very tolerant of drunk husband 🤣🤣 very central perfect location for fig tree bay

Another wonderful holiday at the Alva. Spent some days at Fig Tree Bay which is just a few minutes walk from the hotel, and some days just relaxing by the pool. Weather was perfect - a great time of year to visit Cyprus. The staff at the Alva were so friendly, as always, and help to make this a great hotel to stay in. Highly recommend. Already booked up for next year.

The Alva was not actually our first choice but what a stroke of luck our original hotel didn't have the dates we wanted. Clean, comfortable, and located a five minute walk from the beach. Also only a few minutes from the main ***** in Protaras. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Our balcony had a sea view. Only minor gripe was the breakfast. Could be a little more varied but not a huge problem. The bar prices are very friendly too LOL We found out after booking that family members had been there for the last eight years and one of our group has provisionally booked the Alva for next year. They are doing something right

We stayed at Alva for 18 nights as a family of 4 (children 14 & 12) room was lovely and spacious, cleaner came everyday and the room was always spotless. We stayed self catering, we had a small kitchen which had what we needed and a little fridge which was really useful for cold drinks. The pool was lovely and clean, we only sat by the pool a couple of times as some guests did get up early to reserve beds with towels and would then disappear for hours but there is so much to do and see that this really didn’t bother us but I can see why some people who would want to sit by the pool would get annoyed. The hotel did try to accommodate and during our stay provided extra beds by the pool. Location is fantastic 2 minute walk to fig tree bay and on the doorstep of all the bars and shops! Also really close to catch the bus, bus service is great and really cheap although they do get really busy. Reception staff were always polite and friendly. We did ask for late check out but it wasn’t possible due to the time of year but there were facilities we could use to shower etc before our flight. We loved this hotel so much so we have booked to return again next year which will be a first as we have never returned to a hotel before we have always stayed somewhere different! I would definitely recommend Alva and we can’t wait to return.

On arrival everything was fine staff pleasant and helpful location fantastic right at the end of the ***** but quiet, Then we went to our room, Room 456 needs upgrading it is really shabby the sofa beds are threadbare (putting a cover on them just made me look under them) some of the towers were threadbare the fridge door is broken so you can not store anything in it as soon as you open the door everything falls out, The breakfast was terrible there was no variation and very little to choose from, the view from the balcony of the waste ground is not what I expected, For the amount of monies that I paid overall very disappointing.
