Cet hôtel se trouve dans un écrin de verdure, au milieu d’une pinède vallonnée qui donne sur la mer et une très jolie plage. Il y règne un calme absolu, auquel participe le pépiement des oiseaux. L’ensemble du complexe a très récemment fait l’objet de rénovations de qualité, qui ont modernisé avec goût les chambres et les aires communes, et le service à la clientèle y est attentionné. Un endroit parfait pour se relaxer en bord de Méditerranée! Un point gagnerait à être amélioré dans le restaurant : servir de l’eau à table pour tous (ce qui serait aussi plus écologique que l’achat de bouteilles d’eau en plastique à chaque repas).

Les bungalows makryammos se trouvent sur l’île préservée de Thassos. Noyés dans la verdure et l’émeraude des flots, ils offrent un havre de paix et de tranquillité. Le service est excellent la restauration honnête, les bungalows propres. On peut s’adonner à la randonnée, aux visites culturelles au sports nautiques. À 300 m une salle de fitness extraordinaire mais non climatisée. La ville de Limerias à deux kilomètres offre tous les plaisirs des villes grecques. Un enchantement total.

Ne faites pas de réservation ici. J'ai fait l'erreur de faire une réservation ici il y a des mois. J'ai donné ma carte de crédit, j'ai reçu une confirmation, je pense que tout est fait. Puis boum, 3 semaines avant notre départ, je reçois un message disant qu'ils ont annulé ma réservation. Ils disent que je n'ai pas payé l'acompte même s'ils ont les informations de ma carte de crédit. Ma banque dit qu'ils n'ont même jamais essayé d'exécuter une charge. Pas d'appel, pas de SMS, juste un e-mail envoyé à 4h du matin puis annulé 5 heures plus tard - avant même que je ne l'aie lu. Cet endroit n'est qu'une arnaque.

We recently stayed at this resort, and while the location and property are stunning, several aspects fell significantly short of a five-star standard. Upon arrival, the front desk did not take into account our prior email communication, which caused a delay in check-in after a long journey. However, the front desk staff were courteous, acknowledged the oversight, and offered an upgraded room category. Their professionalism in handling the situation was appreciated. The resort’s setting is exceptional — beautifully maintained grounds and a fantastic beachfront. The beach is a highlight, and the beach bar team was friendly, efficient, and delivered a well-curated offering. The seafood restaurant also stood out: the food was high quality, and the service team delivered an excellent dining experience. Unfortunately, the all-day dining restaurant — which serves breakfast and dinner — was a major disappointment and does not align with what one would expect at a five-star property. Breakfast quality was poor. Juices came from outdated dispensers, and even basic items like omelettes were difficult to get. The egg station was disorganized, and the overall experience felt more like a low-tier cafeteria than a luxury resort. Dinner was no better. Despite the resort's seaside location, seafood was almost entirely missing from the buffet. The live cooking station repeated the same limited items — overcooked chicken, pork, and occasional beef stew — day after day. Fresh grilled fish appeared just once during our 7-day stay. A proper selection of fresh, grilled seafood like calamari or octopus — something you’d reasonably expect at this price point — was entirely absent. To be fair, the restaurant manager was very professional, visible, and genuinely tried to improve the experience. His effort was noticeable and appreciated. Unfortunately, the poor food quality and lack of variety were issues far beyond his control — a clear sign of deeper issues in kitchen leadership and standards. At €320 per night, the dining experience — particularly the buffet — is far below expectations and simply not worth the price. We had originally planned to have all our meals at the resort, but ended up dining out most nights just to find something decent to eat. In summary, the resort itself is beautiful, and the service team — though mostly young and still learning — is trying hard. The restaurant manager deserves recognition for his efforts. However, the Food & Beverage operation as a whole urgently needs serious attention. Until that is addressed, guests may want to book room-only and make separate dining arrangements elsewhere.

Family of six, with small children, unable to sit at the same table for an evening meal. Unable to sit outside due to wasp problem. Food and ambience dreadful for a 5 star hotel. Restaurant staff awful. Reception staff, friendly but unhelpful. Beach, pool and setting lovely. Wish we had believed the reviews.

We came for dinner at 7:00 PM and kindly asked to be seated inside the restaurant, as dining outside was not possible due to wasps. We are a large family with children, including one with a disability, and needed a safe and comfortable place to eat. We were told that we should come to dinner in turns, as we were “too many” to be seated together. There were no available tables inside, and although we asked for help, no staff member offered a solution – we were just told to wait, without any estimated time. With no choice, we sat in the lobby with our food. Very soon, we were scolded for being there with plates, even though no alternative was provided. A few minutes later, a staff member named Mr. Vasilos approached us aggressively, grabbed our plates without permission, and placed them outside, insisting we leave the lobby immediately. It was a shocking and humiliating experience. We waited over 50 minutes, but no table was offered. This is unacceptable service, especially in a hotel that presents itself as family-friendly. We expected basic respect and hospitality. Sadly, it was the opposite.

An absolutely amazing place. Very good service & wonderful array of food. Accommodation as bungalows and set amongst the hills & trees was a different experience. Golf buggies offering free transport for guests was a nice surprise I would highly recommend Makryammos, Thassos & would definitely go back there

Absolutely superb from start to finish beautiful surroundings clean beach and crystal clear seawater. The accommodation was spotless and all the food was delicious plenty Full and good quality. Special mention to Kalli in the bar who was delightful and Maria in the restaurant who waited on us at breakfast and dinner so attentively! Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and definitely back again very soon .

Amazing place, excellent staff, the place it is quite unique. The beach/sand very clean, same for the water. The food was very good, the accomodation was excellent (we had a junior suite apartment, very spacious and modern). The bungalows are like in the pictures, inside of a small forest. I will return for sure.

Just returned from a 2 week stay at Makryammos bungalows and was a bit concerned about staying there after reading the previous reviews. The complex has its really good points and some really bad points in my opinion. Firstly the good points:- Rooms are really beautiful and spotless. The bedding and towels extremely clean and are changed frequently. There is a fridge in the room with a large complementary bottle of water along with tea and coffee making facilities. Free safe. Good selection of TV channels in English (did not use though). Lack of toiletries in bathroom and no soap dispenser in separate wc/hand basin room, nor anywhere to place your hand towel. Comfy beds and pillows. Large remote control ceiling fan to complement the air conditioning. Left door open at night with ceiling fan on low speed making no need for air conditioning on, plus there is a sliding mosquito door. All staff we found to be extremely nice and friendly. But the best thing about this resort is its setting in the pine forest with its own beautiful clean soft sandy beach with safe shallow water to enjoy. All sunbeds are allocated to you personally so there is absolutely no need to rush to reserve one each day. There is also waiter service on the beach for both drinks and snacks if you didnt want to leave your sunbed. Secondly the bad points:- The food was not good. it was extremely canteen style, served in large trays. Lots of the dishes were extremely salty and most were in a tomato sauce, even the fish, chicken, pork etc etc. All the meat and fish were of a poor quality. The best was the Sea Bass cooked once a week on the barbecue. The wine served at dinner was by bottle only and not by the glass. The salads were just basic tomato/lettuce/cucumber/onions etc with nothing else on the salad counter. The pastries were the best though, but unfortunately no ice cream to compliment. The attitude and dining habits of some of the guests staying there were actually unbelievable, which is not the hotel's fault its the people themselves. Most were rude, very greedy with the food piled high on their numerous plates and then left uneaten on the table, an extreme waste of food, not just occasionally but the same everyday. People would just push in front of you to get food and take almost everything from the trays. I have actually read this in a previous review and after having witnessed this type of behaviour, believe that is how some other people behave and it may just be their ways, but again, not the hotel,s fault but its such a complete waste. There were also many, many smokers who did not care if you were seated at a nearby table having either breakfast or dinner, they would just light up and the if the smoke blew your way well that was your dining experience ruined. Very nice hotel. The beach is amazing. The food very good. The room is very nice especially if you choose the sea view. A lot of cats and a lot of activities for the children. We had a very nice experience and 100% recommend this hotel as well as the beach.

We stayed here for a week in May at the beginning of the season and had a very enjoyable week despite the rather cool unseasonal weather. We usually stay at Limenaria but fancied a change. The bungalow was at the top of the steep hill which didn’t bother us at all. Our room was very clean and cleaners did a great job each day and replenished with fresh towels etc. The food was just fine, not a culinary experience, but plenty of choice. The beach was lovely. And plenty of sun beds at that time of year. The swimming pool looked a bit tired but that could have been because we were slightly out of season. Location was great for lots of walking including into Thassos, Marble Beach etc. The hotel was very quiet which we like but it would have been good to have had some sort of evening entertainment which is why I’ve only given 4 stars. Nevertheless we left feeling refreshed, relaxed and fitter due to the many walks we did so that can only be good right - I guess it would be different if we had mobility issues but the buggy was always about. We plan to return to this beautiful island and this hotel again in May next year.

After reading many negative reviews about Makryammos Bungalows I was really worried about our family holiday here. I shouldn't have worried. The place is beautiful, staff were polite and helpful especially Nicky and Sarah at reception. The beach is wonderful and having assigned sun-loungers is a really great idea. You are given a key at check in to unlock you parasol and beach beds. They are yours for the duration of your stay.We took our own paddle board and left it on the beach every night. The rooms are lovely and cleaned every day with fresh towels. The food was absolutely fine with lots of choice. I was worried as my little boy is a fussy eater but there was always something available for him. The bungalows are situated on a really steep hill and I was concerned about this with traveling with my parents and young children however the golf buggy was great. We didn't wait for more than 10 minutes to be collected from the beach to be taken back to our rooms. The hotel is 10 minutes in a taxi from Thassos town and cost 8 euros. There was one evening when a sax player was on in the outside bar which was nice. If this was more than one evening it would have been great. The pool was great but the children were not allowed to jump in and I am not really sure why? My Children were a bit disappointed by this but it wasn't a big deal. The small pool is in desperate need of a refurb and so are the toilets around the pool. This didn't spoil our holiday though we just didn't use the small pool or the pool toilets. All in all I would highly recomend Makryammos Bungalows. Thank you for a wonderful stay

We recently stayed at Makriammos Bungalows and unfortunately, the experience was far below my expectations. There were numerous issues that made our stay quite unpleasant. 1) Rooms are located on a hill, and the promised club car service to transport guests was rarely available. We found ourselves waiting for long periods just to get to and from our room. 2) The staff's attitude was another major disappointment. They were often rude and unprofessional, raising their voices when we had simple requests. It was shocking to be treated this way, especially considering we were paying guests. 3) Guests are assigned specific sunbeds, and we were expected to clean them ourselves every day and lock them up. Additionally, we were told we had to take our trash to the bins daily. This level of self-service is unacceptable for a hotel that markets itself as a premium establishment. 4) As someone with dietary restrictions, I was appalled by the lack of consideration for allergies. The hotel offered very few options for a gluten-free diet, and it was clear that allergies were not taken seriously as the food signs are not correct and no one contacted me on this topic. 5) Housekeeping was consistently subpar. Despite the fact that we were three people in the room, we were constantly only given one towel. We had to repeatedly ask for more towels, which should be a basic expectation. 6) Perhaps the most disturbing part of our stay was the behavior of the restaurant manager. Although the hotel claims that he does not serve food, we were personally served by him in the Tavern and coffee in the main restaurant. What made this worse was his unsanitary habit of preparing and smoking cigarettes right in front of guests, licking his fingers and tobacco paper before continuing to serve food. This was not only unprofessional but also a serious health concern. 7)What added insult to injury was the management's blatant indifference to these issues. When we brought our concerns to their attention through reception and the travel agency, they seemed uninterested and dismissive, giving the impression that they simply do not care about their guests' experiences. Overall, our stay at Makriammos was disappointing and frustrating. The lack of basic services, poor food quality, unprofessional staff behavior, and apathetic management made it a place we would not recommend to anyone. We expected much more from a hotel in this price range, and we will certainly not be returning.

We apologize for the delay you encountered, and we understand that it led you to forgo using the service thereafter. As for the sunbeds, we regret any inconvenience you experienced. Upon check-in, you were informed about your private umbrella on the beach, reserved exclusively for you. Our staff opened and cleaned the sunbeds for you each day, and we are sorry if there was any confusion. Additionally, a waste bin was available near your umbrella. Regarding your dietary restrictions, we were unaware of your specific needs as they were not communicated by you or through your travel agency. Please note that we always inquire about dietary preferences when taking orders. Our maître d’ and reception staff were available to discuss any dietary requirements, and we encourage all guests to share such information in advance so we can accommodate them properly. With respect to housekeeping, we were surprised to learn that you received only one towel. Our records indicate that four sets of bath towels were provided daily, despite there being three guests in your room. Regarding your comments about the restaurant manager, we want to clarify that this individual does not serve food or beverages to guests as part of their duties. Our team members adhere to strict hygiene standards, and we can assure you that smoking or any unsanitary behavior while serving guests is not tolerated. After reviewing our records and speaking with our staff, we found no evidence to support the incident you described. We regret that you felt this way and encourage any guest to bring such concerns to our attention immediately during their stay so that we can address them in real-time. Please know that the management was aware of your concerns from the outset and worked closely with our team and your travel agency to address them. Every department did its utmost to assist you during your stay, and we kept detailed records to ensure that any issues were promptly resolved. Given this, we were surprised to read some of your feedback, as our records reflect a different experience. Thank you once again for sharing your feedback. We spent 7 days in the hotel since we came here with an agency. First of all, if you don’t have car, you will be doomed in the hotel. Our room was one of the closest to the gate which means top of the hill and even the hotel says there is always club cart to carry you, there isn’t. Breakfast starts 7.30am and bars closes 12.00pm but the club cars are working between 08.30-22.30 if you are lucky and catch one. If you have any problem with walking uphill don’t even try the hotel. Food is awful. There is no gluten free food even in the snack menu. Furthermore, the signs on the foods are wrong and sometimes even the names. We are on Greece but we didn’t see any sea food on 7 days. There is plenty of pork and some chicken. If you are not a fan of both, you will stay hungry all the time. In addition to these, the staff mainly in the high level is very rude. If you don’t obey their rules or thoughts, they shout at you in front of everyone. There is always a rule set for everything you need to obey. You can’t sit on a table of 4 even you are 3 people and you need to wait for a 3 seated table to be opened. We waited nearly every dinner and half of the breakfast in the queue. You have assigned sunbed where you lock them overnight (that’s real and they are giving you a key for a lock) and you can’t sit anywhere else than hotel assigned you. Furhermore, everything is overpriced (1.5x-2x compared to Thassos average) and taste of the food is really bad. We saw also a big hygene problem that staff is serving coffee after cleaning the tables or restaurant floor. Sea was always windy and wavy. It could be due to the season but the depth of the water is shallow and if you want to swim, it is not giving any pleasure. Cleaning of the room is not bad but they put 1-2 towel set everyday even we warn the reception that we are 3 people. They just don’t care. Basically, it was awful holiday. We basically lived with the hotel dictates us. We raised some concerns but no body cared in the hotel. And the last evening we learned that since we leave 8.00 am, we need to give our luggages to be collected from the room until 8.00pm otherwise we need to carry all our stuff from a top of the hill to the reception. It was my 2nd visit to the island and this hotel make me strike out the island for my next vacations.
