This was my first trip to Surabaya and I had decided book Four Points Sheraton Tunjungan given its central location and competitive room rate. I was pleasantly surprised when the hotel recognized my Marriott Bonvoy member status and accorded me the corresponding benefits despite me not making this reservation via the Marriott Bonvoy app. Kudos the hotel staff for that!

Staying at Shangri-La Surabaya was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The service was warm and professional — every staff member went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome and well taken care of. The room was spacious, clean, and elegantly furnished with a perfect balance of comfort and luxury. I especially appreciated the plush bedding and thoughtful amenities. The view from the room was also a plus, offering a peaceful cityscape that felt relaxing after a long day. Breakfast was a highlight — the variety was impressive, from local Indonesian favorites to Western and Asian dishes. The pool area and lush garden surroundings made it easy to forget you were in the middle of a busy city. Location-wise, it's conveniently close to malls, restaurants, and main roads, yet the hotel itself feels like a serene escape. Would definitely recommend Shangri-La Surabaya to anyone looking for a five-star experience with genuine hospitality.

We spent a few nights in Surabaya for work, and it was our first visit to the city. The hotel was very comfortable, with a spacious bed that easily accommodated two adults and my 7-year-old. The room itself was quite roomy and included a sofa, which was a nice touch for extra seating. I made good use of the gym facilities, which had plenty of cardio machines, dumbbells up to 20 kg, and a cable machine—enough for my workout needs. The pool was a decent size and even included a baby pool. Breakfast was enjoyable, with a good selection of food and drinks. Overall, my family was happy with our stay and would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a mid-priced option. It had easy access to taxi services, several restaurants nearby, and was not too far from Ciputra Mall.

The hotel is very comfortable and the receptionist and other employees are also very friendly. The place is very close to tourist attractions in Surabaya city. Located in the middle of the city too, so you can get access to any place

I originally booked one of the renovated rooms and there is a bit of fiasco in the first day when I came back to the room it just reeked of raw sewage, almost like a pipe it exploded, and I immediately called housekeeping who sprayed but said that they would move me to a different suite which is the one in the photos. This is one of the more expensive suites and it’s basic and similar in comparison to the renovated suite. However, renovated suite looks like it was renovated back in 1990s as the other suite was much nicer and more modern Overall, the service was fantastic. The food in the breakfast was delicious. The pool is nice. I’ll be at a little quiet and overall it’s a great location if you wanna go out to different sites or if you just wanna cruise the mall or do some quick shopping 

Tres tres bon hotel a proximité de l’aeroport. Prestations de qualité, piscine très agreable. Les chambres sont confortables et bien climatisées.  Excellent petit dejeuner.  Bref rapport qualité prix remarquable pour un europeen

Towels looks a bit dull. Coffee machine can’t use. The shower head stand already broken. We can’t use the shower without holding because always fall down. Unfortunately the house keeping when make up the room didn’t ask the man to fix it instead just propped up the head shower. I think it will continue broken until there are guests who complain. Others are okay, breakfast very satisfactory.

Notre séjour au DoubleTree by Hilton Surabaya a été tout simplement exceptionnel. Dès notre arrivée, nous avons été chaleureusement accueillis, et ce qui nous a le plus marqués, c'est leur service véritablement personnalisé. Différents membres du personnel nous connaissaient par notre nom lors de nos visites, ce qui nous a permis de nous sentir véritablement appréciés et comme chez nous. Un grand merci à Adi et Sophia, qui ont tout mis en œuvre pour que notre séjour soit confortable et inoubliable. Leur attention, leur chaleur et leur professionnalisme ont fait toute la différence, et nous apprécions sincèrement leurs efforts. Le petit-déjeuner était exceptionnel, proposant une grande variété de plats délicieux et joliment présentés. Chaque détail était soigneusement préparé, ce qui en a fait un moment fort de notre séjour. Nous avons également adoré le club enfants, qui proposait des activités bien pensées pour les divertir. Il était évident que tout avait été pensé pour en faire un espace ludique et stimulant pour les familles. Le service dans tout l'hôtel était irréprochable, reflétant les standards élevés du DoubleTree by Hilton. Chaque interaction a été accueillie avec chaleur et une réelle disponibilité. Si nous retournons à Surabaya, le DoubleTree by Hilton sera sans aucun doute notre premier choix. Je le recommande vivement !

La chambre sentait très fort la cigarette. Par coïncidence, je ne fume pas et il existe une règle interdisant de fumer par le gouvernement de la ville de Surabaya, mais l'odeur de cigarette était horrible. Petit-déjeuner, tous les plats sont froids, pas chauds, et tout est standard. La piscine est éloignée du bâtiment, disons donc qu'il n'y a aucun avantage à stationner gratuitement. Pour ceux qui fument activement, cet hôtel convient aux fumeurs, mais si vous ne fumez pas, évitez cet hôtel car ça sent la cigarette partout. Lors de mon voyage, j'ai commandé une chambre non-fumeur, mais la chambre sentait fortement la cigarette.

I think this is a value for money stay. I love the room and hotel location. The room is excellent with bathtub at this price. Service is generally good and acceptable. The room when we first enter has some aircon leaking, but was quickly changed to another room. Breakfast is a good variety though there was quite a number of flies at the fruits section. I think it's around a 5 to 10 minutes walk to the mall. Would be good if they could include some floats for the swimming pool.
