The hostel was great and worth the stay for different reasons:
1. Amazing location with big lake, near public transportation
2. Friendly and helpful staff, you can borrow hair dryer at the reception. You can keep your bag in locker room also, bring £1 coin or ask lovely staff for tap to pay.
3. Huge shared kitchen with lots of cooking essentials which can be used to cook nearly everything you can.
4. Clean and well maintained room.
Can’t ask for more with this price.

Il a séjourné deux nuits dans la ”Salle confortable”.
La chambre était assez petite mais belle et bien présentée, bien que je me suis sentie la chambre elle n'était pas entièrement nettoyée. Ils étaient quelques lingots sur les plafonds, une bonne affaire de rubis sous le lit et la douche avait une affaire de moule sur le sélateur autour de la porte de douche.
Le petit déjeuner était magnifique, avec beaucoup de variété et des gardiens aimables et amicals.

Deux chambres. Chambres de bains avec baignoire. Certains peuvent dire que la chambre est date. Pour un prix excellent .
Pousses météorologiques pour nourriture autour de l'angle - moins d'une marche de 10 ms
Le personnel aimable a rempli nos bouteilles d'eau avant de nous débarrasser pour notre marche.
Tout en tout, nous avons satisfait à nos exigences.
Pour l'information, c'est aussi un chien ami.
Pour 50 £ par nuit (déaler si vous réservez un billet de train via trip.com a reçu un rabais sur les hôtels.

L'hôtel qui a passé la nuit à mi-parcours temporaire est arrivé sur la route principale, le parking est très grand et pratique de parking! La réception a également beaucoup de brochures de voyage pour les clients, il est recommandé d'aller!

The location is perfect, right next to the train station and it's very easy to spot the entrance. The cleanliness is definitely a work in progress. The key areas were very clean, such as the bed, the wardrobe etc. However there was dust on small things like the towel holders, behind the cupboards etc. (The only reason I checked was because my allergies were acting up but only in the room). A few cobwebs in the room that you only really notice when you're just relaxing. The bathroom was clean but in the grouting there was mould in there, so it needs sorting. The beds are uncomfortable, they're really hard on your back and both me and my partner have left with sore backs after staying, I booked a double bed and it's two single beds pushed together which would be fine if the mattresses weren't so firm. The reception staff both over the weekend and weekdays were so lovely, very friendly and welcoming and i can't fault them whatsoever. The team that refreshes the room were also lovely, very accommodating and friendly, they topped everything up in the room fast without asking and were also great. The night porter unfortunately needs an attitude adjustment, his tone and the way he speaks to you just isn't okay. Having a lovely day and coming back to the night porter being rude wasn't pleasant. All in all a lovely stay with only a few minor complaints.

Room was spacious bathroom lovely. Fresh and beautifully clean. Loved the decor.
Excellent staff, especially as I arrived 1am!
Bargain at £41 as well! Will definitely use as a stopover fir Scotland fron now on!

Always stay here when in Carlisle. Room was very spacious clean & tidy with everything you’d need provided (toiletries beverages etc)
Breakfast was very nice with good range of cereals yogurt & juices & a buffet style cooked option.

L'attitude du service de la réception est très gentille. Pour l'anglais non compris, je peux également me faire comprendre par la traduction. Il y a un bon dîner et un petit-déjeuner à commander. Les équipements sanitaires sont également très bons. La salle de bain est trop petite! Le Wi-Fi est très accessible

AAlanPBooked in for 1 night to have a rest in some luxurious surroundings after a lot of travelling around the country visiting friends. Hunday Manor is a beautiful old house in a fantastic spot on the side of a hill with a great view. The hotel is very well appointed and the rooms are well looked after. The quality of the food for both an evening meal and the cooked-to-order breakfast was excellent. Perhaps the only facility I would add is a few overnight EV charge points in the car park.
The service however was rather comical, starting with check-in. After confirming my name, 1 night stay, and printing out the reservation sheet, somehow the chap on reception muddled up my solo reservation with a couple arriving on the same day who were staying for a couple of weeks and gave me their room. After settling in for a much needed afternoon nap in the very comfortable bed and 'locking' the door on the inside, the rather startled couple walked in having been given a card for the same room. From that point on I never really managed to relax. I offered to move room when I went down for dinner later on, but the chap declined and mumbled something odd about the length of stay and seemed to point at the paperwork suggesting I had signed it making it my mistake! Sigh.
Things didn't get a lot better in the restaurant. Myself and another solo traveller were given tables at the back (by the same chap), seemingly to keep us out the way of the couples who arrived later and were seated at the windows. When either of us asked questions about the menu there was lack of understanding about the dishes.. I was then asked around half a dozen times by multiple staff if everything was ok. Meanwhile I could hear one of the couples quitely chatting about their room, no doubt the room I was in. Upon trying to put the bill on my room, the same chap from earlier left me at the bar with a card machine asking whether I wanted to add a tip.
At breakfast the next morning it continued. When I arrived the first breakfast room was full of tables needing clearing so I was given a table in the same area where I had dinner. This time given a table at the window but right in front of the only other guest, a lady already eating her breakfast. My table wasn't set so inexplicably the waiter clumsily took a second place-setting from her table while she was midway through eating! After dusting a few crumbs from one of the plates I enjoyed my breakfast. Towards the end of eating the staff were discussing how to rearrange the room for an event later in the day and started moving things around. After hearing the same couple from dinner asking to be told when their room was made available, cleaners were hanging around at the bottom of the stairs when I returned to the room. Nothing like a bit of a hurry up to finish breakfast and get out of your room to make you feel like a valued guest.
Upon check-out an apology and a chat but by then the damage was done. No offer to comp a drink (or dinne)r after making a mess of things either. It's a lovely hotel that could offer a real 5-star experience, but the service ended up more like an episode of Fawlty Towers and needs a bit of a rethink.
Next stop China.

IInvitéRum Doodle, well it was our first time at The Lakes and it certainly won't be our last! The location was just right with being part way between Windermere town and Bowness and was walkable to both. There were plenty of shops, bars and restaurants in walking distance as well as lake Windermere itself.
We found Rum Doodle with ease and was greeted at the door with a smile and friendly man (the owner but didn't catch his name). We were bought a fresh glass of apple and orange juice to our room which was refreshing after a long drive to Windermere. Our room was comfy, not too big or too small, a wardrobe, seating in the bay window, hairdryer, hot drink making facilities, wine glasses with cork screw and bottle opener. Very modern, clean and well presented bathroom with soft and fluffy towels, and a really nice shower. The bed was very comfortable and welcomed after a busy day exploring the surrounding area.
Breakfast was really good with cereal, fresh fruit and yogurt, toast, and then a choice of breakfast which were great too.
We had a pleasant and informative chat at breakfast with the lady that works there who gave us the heads up on some driving routes to try and avoid which was really useful.
After a day out exploring we went back to Rum Doodle to a cleaned room and freshly made bed with the tea and coffee replenished, so we were able to just drop and the bed with a nice cuppa and biscuit. Then out for a walk, some lovely food and a couple of drinks.
We couldn't recommend The Lakes and Rum Doodle enough! Well worth every penny

IInvitéI have grave misgivings about hotels in the busiest parts of the Lake District, especially at holiday times. Obviously they will be relentlessly overcrowded, with harassed and unfriendly staff. I’ve wanted to go back to the Proper Lake District for a while though so took a risk on the King’s Head. It’s easy to find on the ear popping main road up from Grasmere, just beyond the impressive hulk of Steel Fell, close to Thirlemere. Parking anywhere in the Lakes is hideous and expensive. Not here. Relaxed and plenty of room. It’s a long building with a pleasant bar restaurant area and beer garden. I found a rather pleasant residents lounge where a lady called Jo checked me in and made me feel welcome. It does get busy with passing trade but the staff look after their residents. They flogged me decent real ale and Jura whisky (the proper stuff). Breakfast is briskly table served from a menu and is well presented. I didn’t eat otherwise there but the food is popular and well priced. The road outside is busy and a bit of a racetrack, and the occasional fighter jet roars between the mountains on low altitude practice, but the relentless bleating of the sheep opposite soon returns things to normal. I was a little sorry to depart, but the manager said he hoped I would come again. I believe I will, and will even bring my wife.

IInvitéIl a été ici plusieurs fois, même quelques fois quand ils n'avaient que juste ré ouvert après chacun des verrous Covid et ont toujours eu le plaisir, ils avaient un fab bienvenu et les chambres sont propres.
Il est très bon de se rendre à l'intérieur de la ville, de la ville et de la ville.
Les salles de bains sont modernes et le bar et le restaurant ont eu un ascenseur facial avec un schéma de couleurs non ultra-moderne de crème et bleu, mais il convient au style de construction.
Ne pas attendre un spa, un gym ou une piscine et ne pas attendre un service de chambre ou des cocktails.
Mais vous recevrez toujours un bienvenu et un service chaleureux et amical.
Le décor est hors de la trace , mais il vaut la peine de trouver cette bijoux, au côté des forêts , avec le courant qui courait sur l'eau et la roche oh et garder vos yeux pelés pour les épinards rouges.
La cuisine est très bien au petit déjeuner, mais pas de sauces de légumes que certains se plaignent, la nourriture est très précieuse au soir, bien qu'une sélection limitée de 4 démarreurs 4 mains et 4 poings, y compris une option de légumes.
Les bars sont plus chers que les bars, mais pas si mauvais pour un hôtel.

GGo-RavGood hotel in Kendal. Hotel has facilities like pool, gym and sauna. It has good restaurant and a separate pub. They also have two banquet halls which are mostly busy for events. Hotel is situated in a hill and their parking in spread in 3 layers. Surrounding views are beautiful of mountains. Rooms were spacious and comfortable.

Rrockylee1, l'hôtel est très situé, la marche à la marine est également en 10 minutes, le restaurant proche est très nombreux et la cuisine est très pratique. La chambre est grande et il y a une salle de séjour, inattendu, mais la salle de séjour est à côté du lit, à côté de la rue, quelques chaussures le matin et la nuit, en particulier la vitesse de la voiture britannique est généralement plus rapide, une attention particulière. Le petit déjeuner est prématurément préparé pour le lait de céréales de yoghurt, certains dans le réfrigérateur, d'autres dans les caisses de stockage, ne pas attendre trop.
2, si vous êtes venu, vous devez avoir une carte de stationnement avec la réception, 3 livres par jour, un parking illimité, plusieurs places peuvent être parcées, en fait, c'est très pratique. Lorsque vous partez, vous pouvez aller au parking d'abord, et vous pouvez installer la carte de stationnement et le baril à la réception quand vous rentrez.

薛薛L'hôtel est relativement isolé, mais l'environnement est surprenant, les chambres sont propres, la pelouse du jardin est très confortable et les enfants s'amusent. Il n'y a pas d'endroit pour manger à proximité, seulement le dîner à l'hôtel. On estime qu'habituellement seuls les locaux s'y rendront. La capacité de service est limitée. Le dîner ne peut être servi qu'à une heure précise, mais les plats sont plus délicats.

KKristinMMon mari et moi avons séjourné ici dans l'une des plus grandes salle de bains 4-poster pour 2 nuits. Il est idéal, à une très courte promenade de la rue haute du village, sur la route du port avec belle vue sur le lac, mais assez loin de tout bruit de rue. La chambre qui nous a réservé était assez grande et même avec un bidet. Le seul côté de la rue était que le lift était brisé, donc nous avons dû monter au sol plusieurs fois par jour, et la construction s'est faite sur le site, mais cela était calme pour nous, car notre chambre était autour de l'autre côté de l'immeuble. Si vous êtes là en été, il n'y avait pas d'AC. (Juste une tête en haut si vous êtes des États et utilisés pour elle toutes les chambres d'hôtel) Pas actuellement de piscine ou de tube chaud au moment de la saisie de ceci.
Je pense certainement à rester ici encore et je recommanderais à mes amis. 👍🏼

IInvitéI arrived on a stormy night in the lake district - on entering the hotel I was met with a warm glow from the log fire and a very warm welcome from the receptionist.
As the hotel dining room was about to close, a room was sorted and the kitchen kept open for an evening meal - a delicious melt in the mouth steak was a pleasure after a 6 hour
drive from the south of england, washed down with a welcome glass of Shiraz.
The bed was very comfortable, the room had a large bath and separate shower cubicle and copious hot water.
The decor and fittings were in sympathy with the age and history of the hotel, a pleasant change from the blandness of more modern mass market hotels.
The staff were very friendly and it was a pleasure to be assisted without having to use automated impersonal systems.
I will not hesitate to stay at the hotel again when I am next in the area.
