Myokakuji is a Zen temple of the Soto sect located about a 25-minute walk from JR Akita Station. I worshiped when I took a walk around Teramachi in Akita in July. It is the 15th temple of the Akita Saigoku Kannon Sacred Ground. A well-shaped Yakuimon (Sanmon) welcomes worshipers. There is a (stone statue) in front of the mountain gate. In the precincts, there are large sitting statues of Shaka Nyorai, Kannon Bodhisattva (bronze statue), and Rokujizo + Koan Jizo (stone statue).
