I was blown away with the walk, how quiet it was, and how majestic the Kauri trees were. They stand like soldiers guarding the forest and the secrets within. The walk was easy going and about 1.3 km ...
That’s one wide tree
First time seeing Te Matua and wow what an impressive tree. Tane Mahuta maybe the boss but this guy is just as impressive and well worth the longer walk!
Night Visit to te Matua Ngahere
Magical experience with excellent guides. To be in the Bush surrounded by the magnificent trees in the dark was surreal. A memory that I hope never leaves me.
