Waitangi Bay Beach

Calm Harbour

Waitangi is where many fishing boats come into the wharf and the Waitangi Bay beach is a lovely deserted stretch of sand which curves around to a headland. This bay is the view from the Hotel as well.

a lovely beach walk which can be combined with a visit to the museum, a coffee at the hotel and a shopping treat in the craft shop.

Solo walk

Enjoyed my walk along this beach, only saw one other person, was a lovely day. Quite a bit of rubbish washed up which is dissapointing.

Paua you can get yourself.

If you time low tide right you won't get wet above your knees the Hotel lends you the correct plastic knife to get them off the rocks. Yum!

Lovely Walk that not too far but far enough

Easy access from the road to the beach. It take around 1.5 hours to walk to the Red Bluffs so a 3 hour return trip. Lots of nice shells on this beach and other treasures to collect. A great pla...
