The fact that they named a dam after a native of this country, a man who revered his environment is beyond disgusting. He wasn't even allowed burial on his own land.

Still Interesting
Even though its smaller than the Grand Coulee Dam, it still was worth stopping, taking pictures from the lookout and reading the signs about its history.

When in the neighbourhood, do visit
I would not especially go here on a trip but when it's kinda on your way, it's a very interesting stop. We saw some osprey soaring by. On the hills you can see al lot of apple and cherry orchards.

A Columbia River game changer
More than 70y ago this dam was constructed, and you can see the effect its had on the surrounding landscape. Where once this was a barren, desert region, now it is a major food producer for the north ...

Best Dam Tour Ever!
Only four of us on the free tour. We went down into the power house and even inside a running generator and touched the spinning shaft on the turbine, unreal! Tour lasted 1 1/2 hr, best Dam Tour ever.
This damned dam should be renamed.
