Fascinating Salt display
We wanted to see how traditional Japanese salt was made. This does have the traditional peaked bamboo racks behind the main building where salt is made by trickling sea water on the racks to concentra...
You can imagine that a tour of a salt factory wouldn't be that interesting since historically most of it is just letting the saltwater dry, but it was kind of fun watching the machinery in action. The...
The visit is 5 Month 8 Sunday. When I saw it on the net, I arrived around 14 in time because it was written that I was doing it until 15 30 minutes on the day. The factory building is the same as the photo on the internet, so I thought it was here at the entrance. Then, the notice said, "The tour has been canceled for the time being due to the corona disaster." It was thought that "yeah ~", but there was a salt set of Hakukata for take-out, so I received it and commemorated it as a commemoration of the corner ...
I ran south on the Shimanami Kaido and stopped by Hakuhojima. I was planning to visit the factory of "Hakuho no Shio", but when I heard it at the roadside station, I could visit the Omishima factory. The next day, I visited a factory in Omishima. There are buttons in some parts of the tour route in the factory, and when you press this, an easy-to-understand audio guide will be played. The tour was free and there were salt souvenirs.
Since I visited on Sunday, the factory was in operation less than a fifth, but I was able to see it slowly. It's free and I got 3 types of salt. Since it was one group, so? I felt something like that, but I am satisfied because I was able to ring the bell that was the main purpose.
