Ahuriri Estuary Walking Track

Lovely walk around the estuary

It was low tide when we did the walk, and I would like to go back at high tide. Saw plenty of bird life, including a little kingfisher sitting on a rock watching for crabs.

this is such a beautiful walk and right outside our room, great to watch people walking their dogs, and swimming every day, and so andy to walk to all the restaurants and bars

Easy walk with excellent views. The tide was in when I walked and I was told afterwards that is the best time to do this walk as otherwise the estuary can get a little whiffy. Definitely a pleasant an...

Cycleways too !

We cycled the estuary as part of the route back from Mission and Church Rd wineries, much nicer than roads and plenty of birdlife to see

Some parts under water

We were disappointed that we couldn’t walk the distance as some sections were under water. It is obvious that these areas need bridges or walkways built up.
