Nice property. Very ridge on early and late check-in and check out. Check on time is 1:00 and it is an extra $50 to check in early. Check-out time is 11:00 and can be extended to noon without a fee but beyond that it is $50. Breakfast is a little bit light with no hot foods. Great pool and water slide along with a hot tub. I had a suite, and room size was good, almost a mini condominium.

This hotel was built in 1885 with historical background according to the pictures on the wall. It would be more informative if there was a more thorough descriptions next to the pictures and become a museum like Inn. We stayed in the Superior King room with balcony, the river view was excellent. This little town is very tranquil with relaxing vibe. We loved to stay in the balcony, unfortunately, there is no any BBQ or stove for cooking here, or we would love to stay more days. There is also no sun umbrella or shaded place in the balcony, and it could be very bright and hot even during 11C in the summer. Our room is the closest to the car park, but we can’t access the stairs directly down to the car park. Instead, we had to detour in the hotel, walked the a few levels of stairs with passing two doors to the car park. There are more than a dozen of stairs in the hotel. Elderly and anyone with leg or back problems need to be aware of it. 
Our room has been renovated recently. Everything maintains in very good condition, besides of the air conditioning. The air conditioning system was connected to another three rooms in the same isle. If any of the room turns on the heater while everyone is using the cool mode, the air conditioning will be shown in error. Thanks for Meghan that she was willing to come back to the hotel for us in 5 mins even it was out of her work time. She has been very helpful and nice during our stay. She is the best front desk I have seen on this island. We were happy with our stay, even we noticed that the noisy music from the pub right under the hotel level not only on in the weekend until midnight. However, we felt that compressor next to us had been noisy all day. We only felt quiet after we turned off the bathroom ventilator, air conditioning and closed the window. There was also two washing machines and one dryer on site charging only CAD$2 for each laundry. I think this is the cheapest laundry service on the island. The last but not least is the bath towels. We can’t stand with it snowing with crushes. I would suggest people bringing their towels. And the water pressure was too weak like a garden pot watering.

Was in a convenient location and not far drive from North Mall or Downtown Nanaimo. Rooms were clean, and relatively quiet.

L'hôtellerie était gentille de parler coréen, et il était confortable de s'occuper de lui sans escaliers ~ Mais ... Chauffe-eau ... Vraiment bruyant ㅠㅠㅠ Si vous ne l'activez pas, il est froid et ... Si vous l'activez, il est sèche et ㅎㅎㅎㅎㅎ Mais c'était mieux que les commentaires ~ Je l'ai utilisé pour deux personnes, mais c'était bon parce qu'il n'était pas étroit !!

Les gardiens de maison à cette place volent ! Ils volent non seulement, ils sont couchés quand ils sont découverts. Je suis venu avec mon père et je voulais le laisser partir pour un vol précoce avant de revenir pour se détendre avant de sortir. Je vous ai dit que je ne me suis pas sorti quand j'ai quitté le navire. Et puisque je n'avais même pas vu la nourriture 3 heures, il était si évident qu'ils étaient là quand je leur ai demandé où elle était. Jusqu'à la fin, la gardienne a menti, elle m'a même apporté une bouteille chaude de Pepsi pour réparer tout le repas qu'elle a fait et son trou de cohorte, comme si elle avait fait quelque chose. J'étais si près de perdre à ce moment-là, mais j'ai remarqué comment le récepteur était horrible à l'audacie et j'ai choisi de ne pas faire une scène, seulement pour obtenir mon repas remboursé. 0/10 pour jouer dans mon visage comme ça et pour mentir.

Emplacement idéal si votre Sim est en plein centre-ville. Les deux lignes de métro et la rue principale sont à quelques minutes à pied. La ligne Canada permet de rejoindre directement la gare (conseil : achetez un billet journalier, il sera moins cher que le billet inter-zones plus le supplément aéroport). La ligne Canada est tellement pratique que si le centre-ville n'est pas votre priorité, un hébergement plus excentré sur cette même ligne pourrait s'avérer moins cher. L'auberge était propre et bien organisée. Il est strictement interdit de manger dans les chambres, mais une cuisine est à votre disposition. Pensez à louer une serviette. L'accès aux chambres et à l'entrée principale se fait par carte magnétique. Les chambres ne sont pas climatisées et peuvent donc être chaudes, malgré la présence d'un petit ventilateur. La chambre à deux lits comprend un lit superposé, des cages sous le lit et un tabouret… c'est tout. Il n'y a pas de rideaux d'intimité, de prises individuelles ni de lampes pour chaque lit ; seule la lumière principale éclaire la pièce. Pensez donc à prévoir une lampe de chevet. Cependant, comme les rideaux ne bloquent pas toute la lumière du jour, la chambre donne l'impression d'avoir une veilleuse allumée et n'est jamais vraiment plongée dans l'obscurité. J'y ai passé la nuit de samedi à dimanche. Dimanche était calme, mais l'auberge se trouve au-dessus d'un bar. Samedi, la musique a résonné pendant des heures, ce qui m'a empêché de dormir. Ce n'est donc pas l'endroit idéal pour les personnes au sommeil léger.

Les installations de l'hôtel sont relativement anciennes, mais le cadre environnant est assez bon, le petit-déjeuner est correct.

What a wonderful unique experience. The setting around the lake was beautiful. We appreciated that all rooms face the lake. We enjoyed the amenities, the restaurant and Games area. We would recommend that everyone take the time to tour Ghost Town....sharing the history of the area. It was incredible....loved the train museum! Had a great stay!

Good room, but terrible guest services and laundry experience We chose this hotel on our road trip because of its convenient location and reasonable prices, but overall, it was a disappointing experience due to their poor service. Check-in was okay, though we did have to wait a bit. The room itself was fine—clean, with a working AC and TV, and we had no issues with the room quality. However, the major issue was their guest laundry facility. We desperately needed to do laundry after a long drive, but their guest machines completely failed and left our clothes stuck mid-wash. To her credit, the receptionist tried to help by letting us use the hotel’s internal laundry machines, but the whole process was a huge hassle. What really ruined the experience was the management's response—or lack thereof. I sent an email to lodge a formal complaint about the issue, and they didn't even bother to reply or apologize. A business that ignores its customers after a bad experience gets zero points from me. If they offer a laundry service, they need to invest in proper commercial machines instead of cheap domestic ones that constantly break down. I will definitely not be staying here again.

My friend and I were very impressed with the Arbutus Inn. It was a very clean hotel and was newly renovated. The renovations were very tasteful and our room was very nice. You could also tell that there were new beds. They were very comfortable and had a good design. I was especially impressed that there no ”smoke” smell in the rooms or in the hotel lobby. All in all it was a very good experience.
