The location is great, right in front of the sea with a very good view and very quiet. There are a few nice eateries in town, which is about a 15-minute walk from the hotel, and driving there is pretty easy too. Cleanliness-wise, the room is okay, but overall you can't expect too much. The toilet tends to have stuff coming back up after a while from the hole, so I’d suggest flushing before you even open it. There are some small black stains—very small—on the bedsheet. Service: breakfast is nice, cold drinks are self-serve, and staff will serve hot drinks and take orders. The staff are really nice. The cleaning service sign said if we put the towel on the floor it would get replaced, but when we came back, the hand towel we left on the floor was still there, exactly as we left it. Facility-wise, the spa is just a joke—cold water, cold shower only, and the window faces the roadside so everyone passing by can see in. If you're expecting a nice spa break, don’t come here. Also, the heating in the room was extremely warm even with the radiator off, and on such a windy and cold day we had to keep the window open, otherwise we couldn’t sleep at all. Given the price we cannot complain too much, it is what you probably would expect from a Holiday Inn Express, both facility and price wise. However, if it is labelled as four star, to be honest we would expect more.

Unfortunately the hotel was under staffed and bar staff (1 person only) on Saturdy & Sunday needed training. Served a pint which clearly had gone off and tried to charge for it inspite of the poor condition. Lack of attention to detail - examples below; 3 of us had dinner, 2 of which complained as food was not hot, the same for plates. One person asked for coffee, approx 9pm, was told that was not possible. Mayonnaise was nearly 3 months past the use by date. We did not book dinner again. We stayed over the Late May Bank Holiday weekend 2025. One of the busiest times of year. We discussed the issues with the duty manager, she was working 18 hours per shift, the best staff member there.

Un séjour unique dans le château, avec beaucoup d'héritage et d'histoire. La chambre spacieuse qui propose un lit roi, un canapé et un lit unique supplémentaire. Néanmoins, veuillez noter les installations de toilette simples pour préserver son patrimoine.

Perfect for what I needed on a cycling trip . Warm, comfortable room with plenty of hot water. Good food in the restaurant although service sometimes a bit haphazard - shouldn't need to ask for a napkin or salt and pepper. Staff friendly but seem to be obsessed with potential allergies and intolerances.

La chambre est un peu petite. Il faut que vous déménagiez vos bagages au dessus. Le petit déjeuner est toujours possible. La fenêtre peut voir le fleuve loin de la fenêtre. La ville entière est très bonne. La prochaine fois, vous y habiterez. Recommander

The room was spotlessly clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food in the Bar Cafe was enjoyable and reasonably priced and there was a good choice on the breakfast menu.

My room had been newly renovated newly carpets tv etc was very comfortable and the fan in the room was lovely on the hot weather close to the front and shops so couldn't fault it
