This motel is located a very short drive from great restaurants and large grocery stores. The grounds and pool are immaculate, very friendly staff everywhere. Rooms are spotless and our deck was large with a table and 2 chairs. Lower floors have covered patios. Very nice! We would stay here again.

J'ai récemment passé deux nuits au Waitakei Resort et j'ai passé un séjour merveilleux. Le cadre était incroyablement paisible et pittoresque, idéal pour une escapade loin de la ville. La chambre était propre, spacieuse et bien équipée, avec un lit confortable et une vue magnifique. Le personnel était sympathique et attentionné, toujours prêt à répondre à toutes vos demandes. J'ai particulièrement apprécié les sources chaudes naturelles du complexe, un moment fort de mon séjour. La cuisine du restaurant sur place était délicieuse, avec un large choix et des ingrédients frais. En résumé, je recommande vivement le Waitakei Resort à tous ceux qui recherchent une escapade relaxante et ressourçante. J'espère y retourner bientôt !

I arrived in Taupo on the morning Air NZ flight from AKL, upon arrival at the Chevron Motel, 4 hours before the published check-in time, I had planned to ask to have my luggage stored while I go about other business. The receptionist kindly asked me to wait while she checked to see if my room was ready, and if so, I could have my room right away. Lucky for me it was, I was very pleased with the initiative and flexibility offered. My booking included a living area with dining table, kitchen, sofa, spare single bed, a separate bedroom, and a dedicated parking space. My stay of 5 nights was very comfortable, and I will definitely use this motel again on my next visit. I would like to offer a few suggestions for improvements, first - a split type AC unit was present in the living room, it would be great if there could be a second unit installed in the bedroom. Internet connectivity, available 24/7, while adequate, did have limited bandwidth affecting video streaming from Netflix/YouTube etc. Lastly, it would be great if the TV provided in the living room had a larger screen. In summary, I was very pleased with my stay at the Chevron Motel, the room offered great value for money, and I was completely relaxed and comfortable during my stay.

Friendly check in staff. Special mention Peter who checked us in and very kindly offered a bigger room seeing we've our daughter with us. The sofa bed was comfortably made. Clean plush white towels and bath robes. The dinner served at Bistro was excellent. The whole Hilton vibe was homely ,warm and welcoming always pleasantly and subtly scented with Crabtree & Evelyn's. We did not have enough time to use the gym but the spa was clean and relaxing. Hilton is close to other eateries like Industrie Kitchen, St Pierres sushi ,McD if guests want to try and all within walking distance too. Thank you Hilton and my husband has now signed up as Hilton Honors member.

We stayed one night en route to Hobbiton and liked it so much that we stayed another 2 later in our trip. Great location, and Cambridge is a relatively easy base to get to other places from. Beautiful decor throughout, nice finishings and really peaceful. It was very busy during our stay (around Christmas/NY) so a little wait for food/drinks but that’s to be expected. We had positive interactions with all hotel and restaurant staff. My only feedback is that the switches in the rooms have blue lights on them, which, for people that like a black-out room, can disrupt sleep. Hopefully an easy fix!

Great location, near restaurants and casino. There is complimentary car parking but it is first come first served. Valet parking for $42. Room was clean and quiet.

Wow! We go upgraded to two bedroom apartment which was really handy since it has washer/dryer plus air conditioning in both bedrooms and open plan living area. Very clean and modern apartment with good appliances (Bosch cooktop, oven, dishwasher, washer and dryer). The apartment is sound proofed. They also have 4 varieties of Zealong Tea Estate teas along with the Zealong cups plus coffee pods. The hotel is next to the lake and shops so it’s quite convenient. My only issue is that outside of night time sleeping hours, the air conditioner would turn off by itself after a few minutes. Other than that, I really enjoyed staying at this hotel and would recommend it to others.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5 — Comfortable, Clean, and Great for a Short Stay This isn’t a fancy or high-end hotel, but it’s definitely a great place to spend a couple of nights—especially if you’re visiting Rotorua and Taupō. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, which is really all you need for a short stay when you’re out exploring most of the day. Don’t expect 5-star facilities or luxury features, but the overall experience is solid and very safe too. The stay was pleasant, the environment was tidy, and it offered good value for money. A reliable and convenient option for travellers passing through or wanting a simple base to explore the area.

Le petit motel dispose de services de base, mais il n'a pas su qu'il y avait une cuisine commune avant de partir. C'est un bon arrêt au-dessus du point, mais la plupart de la ville se ferment bien tôt ou ont de longues week-ends, donc assurez-vous que vous avez des fournitures à l'avance. Quand nous sommes arrivés là, il n'y avait pas de réception, il y avait un numéro et une personne à appeler, l'entrée est un peu difficile ”entourant le dos” ...yep c'est exactement ce qu'il est.

The room was unsatisfactory. Cobwebs and insects on walls, broken & wobbly dining chairs. Even the stair railing to go upstairs is shaky. Chipped bowls and plates. Most serious is that hot water shower is almost impossible! Hot water seems to be limited. It's always freezing cold water! Imagine having soap all over your body and literally freezing just to wait for the hot water to come but yet not enough to rinse off the soap! I gave up trying to shower the next day. And no Aircon on upstairs room. We had to ask for a small fan just to ventilate the room
