L'hôtel est situé près de l'aéroport. La navette gratuite est un atout majeur. L'hôtel lui-même est un peu ancien. Le parc est bien entretenu, avec de nombreuses fleurs, des arbustes, des pelouses verdoyantes et une piscine. Chaque chambre est équipée d'un coffre-fort. Lors de notre premier séjour, notre chambre sentait fortement les produits d'entretien. Nous avons demandé à changer de chambre, ce qui a été fait. L'odeur persistait, mais était moins forte. Le personnel de l'hôtel recommande de rester dans l'enceinte de l'établissement ; il est préférable de prendre un taxi pour se déplacer, et uniquement pour des destinations précises. Les petits-déjeuners sont corrects. J'aurais préféré du beurre plutôt que de la margarine.

Upon arrival, check-in at reception was smooth. We were provided with our room key and directed to our accommodation, which required us to drive to the other side of the estate. However, when we reached the room, the key did not work. We walked back to reception, where we were informed that a network issue had prevented the key from being properly programmed. The receptionist, who was very helpful, offered to accompany us to the room and opened it using a master key. She assured us that a functioning key would be delivered as soon as the network was restored. Upon entering the room, we immediately noticed that it had not been cleaned. The window sill was sticky with what appeared to be beverage spills, the floor was dirty, the bathroom mats were not fresh, and most concerning, there were rat droppings on the window sill, on the floor behind the curtains, and behind the door. I contacted reception to request housekeeping and asked to speak with a manager, as the condition of the room was unacceptable. A housekeeping staff member arrived, but I requested that cleaning not proceed until the housekeeping manager assessed the situation. The manager quickly confirmed that the room had indeed not been cleaned and that there were clear signs of rodent activity. She apologised sincerely, asked us to wait while the room was cleaned, and said she would escalate the matter to the rooms division. While waiting on the terrace outside, we noticed a mouse in the bushes, which explained the droppings found inside. After the room was cleaned, the manager returned, apologised again, and informed us that a complimentary bottle of wine had been arranged for us. We told her about the mouse we had seen and expressed that we did not feel comfortable staying in that room. She went back to speak with the rooms division, and we waited in the bar. An hour later, she returned with keys to a new room and directed us there. The replacement room was clean, though the entire experience made for a rocky start to our stay. The following day, after breakfast, we returned to our room to find that the terrace doors had been removed and two maintenance staff were working. This came as an unexpected surprise, as no one had informed us that repairs would be taking place. We decided to return to the bar to allow the work to be completed. As we were celebrating a birthday that day, the housekeeping manager kindly arranged for our room to be decorated with a birthday message. From that point onward, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay thanks to the exceptional customer service at the restaurants, bars, and spa. In particular, we would like to recognise Moses, Regal, and Tebogo at Kingsley Restaurant; Sibongile at Granatas; and Mandy at the spa for their outstanding hospitality. They truly made our stay memorable. Overall, despite the challenges we experienced upon arrival, we had a lovely stay. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making my mother’s birthday special.

Room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. It is perfect for a short layover in Johannesburg or a night before an early morning flight. Shuttle bus to and from the airport are frequent and convenient (running at 30-minute intervals and generally on time). There are other airport hotels which may be closer to the airport and all shuttle buses run from the same bus terminal. This bus takes around 7-8 minutes to reach the hotel from the bus terminal. Room amenities are abundant, and the water kettle is kept reasonably clean. Hotel gym is well-maintained and a good place to work out before long flights. Staff are professional and friendly.

L'aéroport Inn offre un hébergement de base, une petite partie de son accès, mais il est propre et la chambre que nous avons été dans a toutes les installations nécessaires. La nourriture est raisonnablement précieuse. Pour un séjour de nuit près de l'aéroport, il est parfaitement adéquat.

I was booked into one of the Villa Suites, and it was an experience in itself. The suite was beautifully appointed, spacious, and thoughtfully designed, blending elegance with comfort in a way that felt both indulgent and homely. Every detail from the plush furnishings to the serene garden views contributed to a sense of effortless relaxation. It truly felt like a private sanctuary. The service throughout my stay was impeccable. Staff members were warm, attentive, and intuitive without ever being intrusive. Whether it was assistance with luggage, dining recommendations, or simply a friendly check‑in to ensure everything was perfect, the team consistently delivered with professionalism and charm. The hotel grounds are equally impressive. Lush, tranquil, and meticulously maintained, they create a peaceful escape that feels worlds away from the bustle of the city. It’s the ideal setting for unwinding, whether by the pool, in the spa, or simply strolling through the gardens. Dining at Fairlawns was another highlight. The food was beautifully presented and full of flavour, with a menu that balances creativity and comfort. Every meal felt like a treat. Overall, Fairlawns Boutique Hotel offers an exceptional blend of luxury, privacy, and heartfelt hospitality. My stay in the Villa Suite was unforgettable, and I would recommend this hotel without hesitation to anyone seeking a refined and restorative escape in Johannesburg.

The reception welcomed us warmly, making us feel very comfortable. Our room was spotless, and the staff was attentive, even providing us with a bucket for ice with ease. Everything was spot on

Mon partenaire et moi avons passé un séjour formidable au Catalyst. Le personnel était agréable, en particulier notre Busisiwe préféré. Le petit-déjeuner et les autres repas étaient délicieux. L'emplacement était très central et il y avait des navettes pour le centre commercial de Sandton et retour. Nous reviendrons sans hésiter lors de notre prochain séjour à Johannesburg.

J'ai récemment passé deux nuits dans cet hôtel et, dans l'ensemble, l'expérience a été moyenne. L'enregistrement s'est déroulé sans problème et le personnel était sympathique, ce que j'ai apprécié. Cependant, la chambre aurait pu être un peu plus moderne. Bien que propre, le mobilier semblait un peu usé et la salle de bain, bien que fonctionnelle, présentait quelques petits défauts, comme un robinet qui fuyait. Le lit était confortable, mais je l'ai trouvé un peu trop dur. Les équipements de l'hôtel étaient standard : il y avait une salle de sport et une petite piscine, même si je n'ai pas eu le temps de les utiliser. Le Wi-Fi fonctionnait bien et je n'ai rencontré aucun problème de climatisation ou de chauffage pendant mon séjour. Un point fort : l'emplacement. Il était plutôt pratique pour mes besoins, à proximité de quelques restaurants et boutiques, sans être exceptionnel. J'espérais un peu plus du restaurant de l'hôtel, car la carte était un peu limitée et la cuisine était correcte. En bref, ce n'était pas un mauvais séjour, mais je n'ai pas été déçu non plus. Si vous cherchez simplement un endroit où dormir sans vous attendre à quelque chose d’extraordinaire, cet hôtel fera l’affaire.

L'hôtel est classé 5 étoiles, mais ses prestations sont plutôt moyennes. La chambre standard avec lit king-size est plus petite que celles que j'ai pu voir dans d'autres hôtels de la même catégorie. Il n'y a pas de verres à eau dans la chambre. Le service d'étage est très lent et il arrive souvent que votre appel soit transféré sans cesse entre le service d'étage et la réception. Si vous commandez à manger en chambre, vous devez payer immédiatement. Le montant n'est pas inclus dans le règlement au moment du départ. L'hôtel ne compte qu'un seul restaurant et un seul café. Pour vos repas, vous pouvez aller à pied au restaurant le plus proche, situé à 800 mètres. Il y a une piscine, mais vous devez apporter votre propre serviette. Le jour de notre arrivée, une fête d'anniversaire se déroulait au bord de la piscine avec de la musique forte. Nous avons donc évité d'aller au bord de la piscine. Un cireur de chaussures se trouve dans le hall et son service est payant (à partir de 100 rands). Pour moi, c'est un hôtel moyen, convenable pour quelques jours. Il y avait une conférence en cours, ce qui a également entraîné une forte affluence dans le hall pendant notre séjour. Si vous recherchez un séjour de luxe, il vaut mieux choisir un autre hôtel. Cet hôtel convient pour un séjour de deux jours maximum.

J'ai beaucoup apprécié cet hôtel. C'était un endroit agréable et reposant avant de quitter l'Afrique du Sud. Tout s'est très bien passé pendant mon séjour et le personnel était vraiment attentionné et sympathique. Je le recommande pour un court séjour.
