I stayed here for 3 nights, and this is my honest review. The hotel has recently reopened after a complete renovation and rebranding. The staff were excellent. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Check-in took about five minutes because the staff member assisting me seemed new and was carefully following the procedures. I didn’t mind at all, and I was served a delicious welcome drink while waiting. After check-in, a staff member escorted me to my room. Pros: 1. The rooms have been fully renovated and feel modern. 2. The bed was comfortable, the air conditioning worked perfectly, even at 26°C. 3. Breakfast exceeded my expectations. Everything I tried was delicious, especially the Indonesian dishes. What impressed me the most was that, even though the hotel was still very quiet and there were only a handful of guests during my stay, they still offered a full breakfast buffet with a wide variety of options. Many hotels would simply serve a limited set menu or deliver breakfast to the room when occupancy is this low, but this hotel maintained a complete buffet from end to end. I really have to give them credit for that. 4. The location is convenient, with Superindo and Indomaret within a 3-minute walk and Pakuwon Mall only about a 9-minute drive away. 5. The lobby is spacious and looks luxurious. Cons: 1. The TV was by far my biggest disappointment. I stayed in a Deluxe Room, and the TV appeared to be left over from the previous hotel rather than replaced during the renovation. It was very small, around 32 inches, and wasn’t a Smart TV, which feels completely out of place for a hotel that claims to be five-star. The selection of TV channels was also very limited, and the picture quality was poor with noticeable static, making it quite unpleasant during my 3-night stay. The Executive Rooms have larger TVs, but based on the information I received, they are not Smart TVs either because I was told that only the Suite Rooms will have Smart TVs, and those rooms will only become available after the hotel’s grand opening. You can even notice that the hotel doesn’t include any photos of the TV in the Deluxe Room images on its booking page, which almost makes it seem like they’re avoiding showing it. Nowadays, it’s hard to imagine a genuine five-star hotel still using a 32-inch non-Smart TV in its standard guest rooms. 2. Soundproofing isn’t great. I could hear noise from the next room and the nearby mosque. 3. The Wi-Fi was very slow, and mobile signal inside the hotel was also weak. 4. The shower area had no shelf or storage space for personal toiletries, and the floor was extremely slippery. I almost slipped several times while showering. This is something the hotel should address, as it could become a safety hazard. 5. The power outlet next to the bed was already occupied by the bedside lamp, so I had to unplug it every time I wanted to charge my phone. 6. Although there were plenty of power outlets in the room, about half of them didn’t work, which was frustrating. 7. I wasn’t a fan of the pillow and bed linens. While the bed itself was comfortable, the bedsheets felt rough rather than soft. I even noticed that the underside of my arms became itchy whenever they rubbed against the fabric. 8. The hotel was very quiet during my stay. It seems many people still don’t know it has reopened, and I haven’t seen much promotion or any soft opening offers on its website and Instagram account. Overall: I enjoyed my stay thanks to the friendly staff, comfortable room, excellent breakfast, and convenient location. However, the TV and Wi-Fi were major drawbacks, and there are still several details that don’t quite meet the standard of a true five-star hotel. At the moment, I would personally rate this hotel as 4.5 stars rather than a full 5-star property. It has great potential, and with improvements to the TVs, internet, room details, and overall quality control, I believe it could truly live up to its five-star positioning.

This place is absolutely fantastic for families. They've got an amazing kids' club that the little ones will adore. The entire facility is really well-maintained and kept in top shape. Plus, they have a proper drop-off area, which is super convenient. It's truly an ideal spot for a family getaway..

Nous avons passé notre lune de miel au Grand Mercure Malang Mirama pendant 3 nuits et 4 jours, et honnêtement, ce fut l'une de nos meilleures expériences hôtelières. Ma femme a absolument tout adoré dans cet hôtel, et moi aussi. Dès notre arrivée, l'accueil a été exceptionnel. Wike, de la réception, nous a reçus chaleureusement et a vraiment rendu notre séjour inoubliable. Toujours souriante, respectueuse, aimable et très serviable, elle nous a même offert des activités et des bons d'achat, une délicate attention. La plus belle surprise a été notre surclassement en Suite Executive, la catégorie de chambre la plus prestigieuse de l'hôtel. Un immense merci à Wike pour avoir rendu notre lune de miel inoubliable ! La chambre était tout simplement incroyable. Une vue magnifique, un immense salon, une chambre séparée et une superbe salle de bains avec baignoire panoramique. Tout y était luxueux et très confortable. Pour notre lune de miel, la chambre était décorée avec goût et nous avons trouvé une corbeille de fruits à notre arrivée, une délicate attention qui nous a fait très plaisir. Le petit-déjeuner était un autre point fort. Le choix était incroyable, tellement d'options qu'on ne savait plus quoi choisir. Tout ce qu'on a goûté était délicieux. Le personnel nous a vraiment marqués. J'ai beaucoup voyagé, mais le service ici était différent. Chaque membre du personnel que nous avons croisé nous a souri, nous a accueillis chaleureusement, s'est assuré que tout allait bien et nous a aidés immédiatement dès que nous en avions besoin. On ressentait vraiment une hospitalité authentique. L'hôtel nous a également offert une séance photo, une expérience vraiment charmante. Le photographe était super, et nous avons même reçu une photo encadrée en souvenir. Le seul point négatif de notre séjour a été l'expérience Teppanyaki au restaurant japonais. Malheureusement, elle n'a pas du tout été à la hauteur de nos attentes. La cheffe cuisinait devant nous sans aucune interaction ni animation, et quand j'ai essayé d'engager la conversation, elle a semblé agacée. Vu le prix, c'était vraiment décevant. Personnellement, je ne recommanderais pas l'expérience Teppanyaki là-bas. À part ça, tout était vraiment incroyable. Même si je ne me souviens pas de tous les noms, un grand merci à chaque membre du personnel qui a rendu notre lune de miel inoubliable. Nous avons adoré notre séjour et nous reviendrons sans hésiter. Et encore une fois, un merci tout particulier à Wike, tu es génial ! ⭐

1. The resort is awfully located in the middle of nowhere, looks like within an abandoned estate. It is so remote from any local shops, cafes or restaurants; too far by walking distance to anywhere. 2. Fancy design but inefficient: The impressive reception doesn’t warrant a massive amount of time wasted by guests. They have to catcth two lifts and walk a fair distances before reaching their room. I think you may get lost in no time. The architects do not consider a simpler ways for the sake of guests’ convenience, say by having additional lifts iooat the end of corridors to reduce walking distances. 3. The room service meals are quite awful, a way below five stars standard even it’s available in 24 hours. 4. A rooftop bars could be a bonus for relaxing guests to enjoy a mountains/city view, not like my room with a balcony, facing uninteresting garden for two day stays. 5. The positive side, my room is well represented and matches a five stars standard and facilities. Good size room with a comfortable king bed. 6. I rather prefer to stay at Hotel Tugu in Malang with a friendly staff particularly at breakfast time, even no lifts provided to go to second floor.

Is a very beautiful hotel the service are excellent especially at the reception counter room service is superb nice food I like the nasi goreng n the mix fresh fruit hotel swimming pool is very well decorated

Réservé pour mon ami, elle apporte son mari et sa fille. Sa fille est très surpris par leur hospitalité, tout le personnel est accueilli et donne leur grand sourire. La piscine et le jacuzy étaient si bons, la chambre était très confortable mais elle a dit que le petit déjeuner devrait être amélioré pour le goût.

Great solid property and performance all round.. what a great short stay we had.. from the elegant lobby and lounge area through to the beautiful spacious room with lovely views over Surabaya. Exceptionally clean with every quality amenity on offer in room and within hotel confines. The room was peacefully quiet, with a soft comforting bed. Pool and recreational area was set amongst manicured palm trees and gorgeous gardens. The pool was one of the best balanced PH levels I’ve ever swam in. Nice comfortable lounges and ample seating around with some seats submerged along in pool. The refined service level at this hotel is a solid 10/10 from reception/concierge/ room attendants and especially in Pavilion Restaurant. The quality, presentation and variety of food is outstanding at breakfast. Thank you graciously for making our special occasion so welcoming with the beautifully adorable presentation on the bed, lovely celebration cake offered along with the very personal attention from the Sous Chef and charming restaurant staff at Pavilion. Special shoutout to Restaurant ambassador Wachid whom personally escorted our plated celebratory cake to our room. Reception and concierge service was also exceptional, graciously assisting us with our missing luggage wheel dilemma. JW Marriott and all involved.. till we meet again.. Terih Makasih 🙏🏻

This was my first time staying at Ascott Surabaya, and the experience was not very memorable for me. When I first arrived, the security staff were not proactive in helping unload my luggage from the taxi. Secondly, the lobby layout was not particularly impressive in my opinion. However, the staff were fairly friendly and explained the hotel facilities well. As for the room, it was decent and in good condition. The kitchen equipment was complete, and the microwave, washing machine, and dryer all worked well. The bathroom was clean, although I think it could be redesigned to look more modern. The check-out process went smoothly, but once again the security staff were disappointing. He just stood there without offering any help to load my luggage into the taxi. At that time I was carrying one large suitcase and one small one, so assistance would have been greatly appreciated. That should be part of a security staff’s responsibility, especially for a five-star hotel. For the location, Pakuwon Trade Center (PTC) is located right in front of the hotel, making it very convenient to visit Pakuwon Mall, the largest mall in Indonesia. For me, staying here once is enough. For some reason, I didn’t feel any significant comfort, especially for a five-star hotel, and the attitude of the security staff was very disappointing.

Notre séjour au DoubleTree by Hilton Surabaya a été tout simplement exceptionnel. Dès notre arrivée, nous avons été chaleureusement accueillis, et ce qui nous a le plus marqués, c'est leur service véritablement personnalisé. Différents membres du personnel nous connaissaient par notre nom lors de nos visites, ce qui nous a permis de nous sentir véritablement appréciés et comme chez nous. Un grand merci à Adi et Sophia, qui ont tout mis en œuvre pour que notre séjour soit confortable et inoubliable. Leur attention, leur chaleur et leur professionnalisme ont fait toute la différence, et nous apprécions sincèrement leurs efforts. Le petit-déjeuner était exceptionnel, proposant une grande variété de plats délicieux et joliment présentés. Chaque détail était soigneusement préparé, ce qui en a fait un moment fort de notre séjour. Nous avons également adoré le club enfants, qui proposait des activités bien pensées pour les divertir. Il était évident que tout avait été pensé pour en faire un espace ludique et stimulant pour les familles. Le service dans tout l'hôtel était irréprochable, reflétant les standards élevés du DoubleTree by Hilton. Chaque interaction a été accueillie avec chaleur et une réelle disponibilité. Si nous retournons à Surabaya, le DoubleTree by Hilton sera sans aucun doute notre premier choix. Je le recommande vivement !

Nice and modern room with a very comfortable bed and pillows (the highlight of the stay). I especially liked the long daybed by the window. Breakfast was decent, and the pool has a nice atmosphere at night. Some minor maintenance to the pool flooring could be improved, but overall it was a very good stay.
