The biggest advantage of JR Inn is undoubtedly its location—being directly connected to the JR Station made traveling incredibly convenient and efficient. It’s hard to beat that level of accessibility, especially for those with tight schedules or early trains. However, I was disappointed to find a flea in the bed during my stay. This was unexpected and concerning, as cleanliness is a top priority when choosing accommodation. I hope the hotel takes stronger measures to ensure this doesn’t happen again. With such a prime location, JR Inn has great potential, but attention to hygiene and room maintenance is essential to match the convenience it offers.

The hotel was excellent in every way that we could tell. The room we were in was large, had great storage spaces, a small kitchen, and even a washing machine in it (which I wish I had known earlier). The breakfast buffet was extraordinary--best quality and variety of food I have ever experienced.

This hotel is very close to Hakodate JR Station and seafood market. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Room not big for single room but quite clean. Free coffee is provided at hotel lobby.

The hotel is directly opposite the exit of JR Hakodate Station and just across the bus stop area. Basically, all Hakodate attractions can be reached by bus. It takes about 15 minutes to walk back to the hotel from the cross street. If you are too lazy to wait for the streetcar after eating clown burgers for dinner, you can take a slow walk back. The room is clean. You need to swipe your room card at the hotel entrance after 11 pm to enter. There is a ramen shop downstairs (within 10 steps from the hotel entrance) and Nemuro Hanamaru (30 steps from the hotel entrance). It is recommended to eat during off-peak hours.
