IInvitéVery atmospheric and cozy ryokan. Traditional style room and majestic mountains view are breathtaking.
The food is fantastic, you dine privately in peace and also provided with unlimited amount of drinks for 90 minutes.
There are private and common (men/women) baths available. Water temperature is comfortable and magically washes away your fatigue.
Personnel is kind and helpful, they used translator to explain everything to me.
I was provided with shuttle bus on check-in and check-out to nearby station (kawaryo onsen station).
This place is perfect if you want to detox from city bustle and cleanse your thoughts.
Nearby konbini is 1h away on foot (or 15 min on car) so I advise you to stock up your supplies in advance if you need any.

JJi SubSitué à quelques minutes à pied du terminal de bus Kusatsu, Nakamuraya Ryokan est un séjour agréable. Le Ryokan, situé dans le centre de la ville de Kusatsu Onsen, était proche de tous les types d'équipements que la ville devait offrir, et il y avait plus que suffisamment de restaurants et de magasins pour explorer à notre boue.
Globalement, l'expérience de logement a été agréable, avec plusieurs chats en itinérance sur la propriété et avec des trucs privés que les invités pourraient utiliser pendant leur séjour.
Si vous cherchez une expérience plus traditionnelle de logement, je vous recommanderais vivement de rester à un Ryokan comme Nakamuraya Ryokan. Si vous cherchez une expérience plus moderne d'hôtel, vous séjournez dans un Ryokan comme celui-ci peut être soit une surprise agréable, soit une expérience relativement étrangère.

IInvitéKanemidori is a short walk from the bus depot. The staff at the reception and restaurant in the hotel were all very nice and helpful. The futons and bedding in the room are very comfortable and warm for winter. You can also control your own in room heater. The hotel onsen is well maintained with full amenities: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, face wash, face pack, hair treatment, and multiple types of lotion. We booked the room only but added on a dinner and breakfast at the hotel. Both meals were carefully prepared and delicious. The main tourist area is within walking distance of the hotel and you can go around in the yukata paired with the long and short kimono jackets provided by the hotel in the winter.

UUtilisateur anonymeTraditiona Japanese-style Ryokan that has been renovated. But still lacks something, like a heating system, so heaters have to be placed throughout the building. Location near Kusatsu onsen's landmark.
The staff are polite and very very good service (Omotenashi). Breakfast is good but a bit early (end at 9am).
Onsen is gorgeous. The room is spacious and bright. Pillowcase and futon sheets need more cleanliness.
No WiFi signal in the room, have to go to the lobby.

Stayed in a traditional tatami room and it was so Japanese in the best way – futon, tatami smell, the whole ryokan fantasy.
Super cosy, perfect if you’re here to soak, chill, and live your best onsen‑town main‑character life.
Buildings & facilities
Hotel has three blocks, all connected via the main building, so you’ll always pass through it anyway.
Most of the good stuff – hot springs, buffet etc. – is in the Annex building where I stayed, so it was really convenient, just no Yubatake view (that’s only for the main building rooms).
Location & mini shopping zone
They literally have their own shopping area on the first floor of the main building, right by Yubatake and the hot spring street, so you can roll out of the hotel in yukata and start browsing.
Super easy to snack, shop, then hop back into the onsen without feeling like you “went out”.
Transport & walking in snow
There’s a shuttle bus to the nearest public transport stop, so luggage days are easy.
You can walk it in under 10 minutes, but in snow season the road gets icy and crazy slippery, so honestly not recommended unless you trust your shoes (and your balance).
Staff & service energy
Hotel staff are amazing – super friendly and actually proactive.
Besides Japanese and English, some staff speak Mandarin and will just switch to it to help you out, and they’ll even offer to take photos for you before you have the chance to ask, which is perfect for solo or shy travellers.

IInvitéL'emplacement est assez éloigné ; comptez environ 16 minutes de bus depuis l'arrêt. La pente est raide, ce qui rend la marche avec des bagages difficile. Pensez à demander au personnel à l'avance d'organiser une navette.
L'onsen (source thermale) privé se trouve à l'extérieur de l'hôtel, dans son hôtel partenaire trois étoiles (Wa no Yado). Il est assez vétuste.
La nourriture n'est pas bonne. Elle est présentable, mais sans saveur. Il existe de meilleures options ; vous pouvez dîner à l'extérieur.
La chambre, quant à elle, est propre.

CChayaphol LeeraphanteThe hotel is very popular among the Japanese traveller. Lots of Japanese with very limited foreign traveller. The communication can be a bit difficult at the hotel.
The room were cleaned but there is limitation of daily cleaning of the room. They only take trash out and change towels. The policy is to clean the room every 4 days.
When the hotel is fully occupied, there is a problem with the scarcity of hot water. We have to wait for hot water to be reproducing 2 out of 3 nights we stayed.
The buffet is very crowded and the food are pretty much the same for all 3 nights we stayed for both breakfast and dinner. Our highlights are the crab and the beef station for dinner and the live onigiri station for breakfast.

Ccharrypo去的時候記得留意返巴士班次，因為只得幾班車（早上9點左右，下午2點半及下午4點左右）。
基本上三餐都要係酒店渡過，可以坐巴士落山來回差唔多要2個鐘。
酒店不包括冷氣，我10月初去11度氣溫幾好，行山舒服風景一流，冬天去仲可以滑雪。
WiFi 並不每個種類都有，我住呢個林道館就無，與世隔絕👍

IInvitéLa position géographique est excellente, juste devant Yubatake. La salle de bains, la salle de bains et le visage sont très petits parce qu'ils sont très anciens, mais le bif et la veuve sont très délicieux. Je ne sais pas que le parking a le dernier moment de l'autobus, donc je suis arrivé après l'arrivée du dernier vol, mais j'ai reçu un vol spécial et l'ai embarqué dans l'hôtel en toute sécurité. La prochaine fois que je veux aller à la promenade de Grassing, je pourrais arriver plus tôt.
