We came from Japan & came to highland
area to escape the city busyness.
We are astonished about this hidden
gem. As we came in we were
welcomed with fantastic passion fruit juice.
We came after dark & only requested simple
white rice & fried vegetable but the chef
and her staff made an amazing dinner with
simple vegetable & rice.
I realized how food prepared with heart
can heal our soul.
I was kept thinking if people in the world
could eat this kind of food with real
soul in it, could heal the whole world!!
It is so amazing to be
surrounded by
beautiful trees
&sounds of animals.
I will definitely come back again. O

NNhanWe got very nice experience when staying here 1 night. The room was perfect for our family of 3. We just had to pay for the 3rd person's breakfast.
The Logde located nearby the Lion rock and village, easy to find and go to the rock or the Gambulla city within 10min.
The host Isuru was very welcoming from the start and made sure that we had all that we needed. ( hot water, drinking water, towels, AC, fan). We also really appreciated Mr Alain, a french gentleman resident in the sameplace! The room also had all the necessary for us to not be bitten by insects (scents and more). There was also a room for the driver at a very resonnable price. However we found the wifi a little weak, but else everything was good.
In the surroundings it is peaceful, and we woke up to nice little sound of the nature and a well prepared typical srilankan breakfast and fruits! Delicious!

Bien que je n'aie passé qu'une seule nuit, le dîner était délicieux, la chambre était bien entretenue et équipée de la climatisation et d'un ventilateur de plafond, ce qui m'a permis de passer un séjour confortable.
Le lendemain matin, après l'ascension du Pidurangala, ils ont adapté l'heure du petit-déjeuner et m'ont permis de prendre une douche après l'ascension du rocher de Sigiriya. Ils ont été très prévenants.

The property boasts three distinct swimming pools, including an infinity pool that appears to merge with the lake, offering breathtaking vistas. Dining at Heritance Kandalama is a culinary delight. The Kanchana Restaurant offers an extensive buffet with a variety of Sri Lankan and international dishes, all while providing panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Throughout our stay, the staff consistently demonstrated attentiveness and professionalism, ensuring that every aspect of our visit was comfortable and memorable. Heritance Kandalama is more than just a hotel; it's an experience that celebrates the harmony between luxury and nature.

AAleksei ZobovThe hotel is nice, spacious beautiful room at check in we were treated to a refreshing juice. There is a big pool on the grounds and a big jacuzzi with hot water in the room.
Minuses of the hotel:
Far from the attractions. Taxi from the center only go there for the price of pick me x2. Hotel taxi are 3 times more expensive. There are no stores and restaurants near the hotel, so inside the hotel prices for food x3, Also after 6pm it is dangerous to be outside because elephants are walking around. Now let's talk about the premium status and the five races. In 7 years of traveling, this is the first hotel that did not have a bathrobe, slippers and toothbrush and toothpaste in the room. The plumbing in the shower leaks, and the doors creak so much that you could call the spirits at night. Regarding the attention to the customer. I mentioned my upcoming birthday in conversation with the manager, but this fact was not used in any way to show any form of attention from the hotel. This is a huge miscalculation on the part of the staff at a premium hotel. We also had a late departure and our request to delay in the hotel for a couple of hours was refused. This was not due to the arrival of new customers, as the manager offered to extend our stay for a fee. For future customers this fact may be decisive in their choice. In general, the hotel is not bad, but the service and flexibility of the staff, as well as individual approach to customers, does not correspond to the premium level and requires improvement.

IInvitéKalundewa Retreat has an amazing concept and a beautiful, secluded location that really stands out. The surroundings are peaceful and unique, making it a lovely place to disconnect. That said, there are visible signs of wear and tear in certain areas, and some aspects of property maintenance could be improved.
However, what truly made up for this was the hotel team — their service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The food was excellent and clearly prepared with care, which added greatly to the overall experience. With better upkeep, this place has the potential to be exceptional.

Le logement était propre et confortable et l'emplacement était excellent. Nous avons été impressionnés par le soin et l'attention portée aux détails, ce qui a rendu l'expérience très positive. Nous reviendrons certainement!

TtorinessThis is a nice hotel in a great location in terms of seeing the key sights in the area we wanted to visit (walking distance to Sigiriya and Pidurangala rocks, and a short tuk tuk ride to a night loris walk). It is on a main road so there is a bit of noise from that if you have a room at the front of the hotel like we did - especially some loud music playing early in the morning. I recommend asking for a room as far away from the road as available. The room was more basic than I expected for the price but importantly it was big and clean. I think you are paying the price for a proper hotel in this location. The hotel pool is big and very clean, it is perfect for a dip to cool down - and very scenic, surrounded by lovely trees. We were a bit disappointed with the hotel restaurant menu which has nearly no vegetarian options on it, and similarly the breakfast buffet wasn’t worth it for us to purchase, but there are lots of other restaurants walking distance from the hotel to go to. The staff were helpful especially in putting us in touch with the loris night tour.

IInvitéL'hôtel est composé de 6-7 de beaux 2 étages, avec quatre chambres par étage. L'hôtel a un grand jardin, une grande prairie et une piscine très belle. Les installations de la chambre sont réglementées et il n'y a pas de lieux particulièrement beaux. Le service est très bon, enthousiaste et attentif, la boisson est très bonne à boire. Le petit déjeuner n'est pas d'auto-assistance, les variétés sont plus simples, avec pain de pomme de terre, œufs, pan de fruits, fruits à coucher et lait. La chambre est mauvaise pour séparer le son, si les deux chambres voisines sont des étrangers, ils peuvent s'influer mutuellement. Il y a beaucoup de coussins sur les arbres du jardin. Les coussins joueront sur le toit et produiront un grand son. C'est un avantage ou un handicap pour chacun d'entre eux. En résumé, c'est un bon hôtel, qu'il s'agisse d'une excès ou d'une vacance, c'est une bonne option.
