We came from Japan & came to highland
area to escape the city busyness.
We are astonished about this hidden
gem. As we came in we were
welcomed with fantastic passion fruit juice.
We came after dark & only requested simple
white rice & fried vegetable but the chef
and her staff made an amazing dinner with
simple vegetable & rice.
I realized how food prepared with heart
can heal our soul.
I was kept thinking if people in the world
could eat this kind of food with real
soul in it, could heal the whole world!!
It is so amazing to be
surrounded by
beautiful trees
&sounds of animals.
I will definitely come back again. O

NNhanWe got very nice experience when staying here 1 night. The room was perfect for our family of 3. We just had to pay for the 3rd person's breakfast.
The Logde located nearby the Lion rock and village, easy to find and go to the rock or the Gambulla city within 10min.
The host Isuru was very welcoming from the start and made sure that we had all that we needed. ( hot water, drinking water, towels, AC, fan). We also really appreciated Mr Alain, a french gentleman resident in the sameplace! The room also had all the necessary for us to not be bitten by insects (scents and more). There was also a room for the driver at a very resonnable price. However we found the wifi a little weak, but else everything was good.
In the surroundings it is peaceful, and we woke up to nice little sound of the nature and a well prepared typical srilankan breakfast and fruits! Delicious!

MMaso Maso (Maso)Il est resté dans la chambre 234. Laissez commencer avec le mauvais. La douche n'a pas fonctionné. Il faut faire preuve de prudence lors de l'utilisation de la douche, l'eau pourrait vous donner un troisième degré de brûlure et le sol était très glissant. Maintenant la moyenne. Personnellement, je pensais que le menu de dîner était un peu restrictif et la qualité de la nourriture manquait. Maintenant, le bon. Très spacieux chambre et salle de bain. Linette de lit de qualité et serviettes. Lie confortable et bon AC. Personnel très poli, réaliste et utile. Ils resteraient encore, mais ils doivent avoir la douche séparée, car c'est dangereux.

IInvitéL'hôte était très gentil et arrangeant.
Bien que je n'aie passé qu'une seule nuit, le dîner était délicieux, la chambre était bien entretenue et équipée de la climatisation et d'un ventilateur de plafond, ce qui m'a permis de passer un séjour confortable.
Le lendemain matin, après l'ascension du Pidurangala, ils ont adapté l'heure du petit-déjeuner et m'ont permis de prendre une douche après l'ascension du rocher de Sigiriya. Ils ont été très prévenants.

IInvitéGreat place to stay if you want to explore the lions rock and the area around. Pidurangala rock is only 15min away by tuk tuk, the lions rock can be done by walk (~20min walk to entrance). But the best experience was the kindness of the hosts. The helped us in every way (explaining routes, advices on activities, organizing tuk tuk, etc.). The food was amazing and we had a lot of interesting conversations with the friendly stuff. Special thanks to Daushna, Larush & Nimal for making our stay remarkable.

UUtilisateur anonymeThe hotel is in a quiet spot surrounded by nature, and we had a really relaxing time listening to the birds. We stayed in a room with its own pool and loved just enjoying the hotel itself. Breakfast came with an amazing view, and the Sri Lankan-style dishes were delicious. The staff were so attentive, always smiling, and made us feel truly welcome. We’d definitely like to come back.
Just note that it’s a bit away from Sigiriya Rock and the town center, so you’ll need a taxi or tuk-tuk to get around.

IInvitéKalundewa Retreat has an amazing concept and a beautiful, secluded location that really stands out. The surroundings are peaceful and unique, making it a lovely place to disconnect. That said, there are visible signs of wear and tear in certain areas, and some aspects of property maintenance could be improved.
However, what truly made up for this was the hotel team — their service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The food was excellent and clearly prepared with care, which added greatly to the overall experience. With better upkeep, this place has the potential to be exceptional.

FFabioDomingue£Bien que notre séjour ait été court, il a été plutôt agréable grâce à la gentillesse du personnel, notamment de M. Ruchira, qui nous a très bien accueillis dès le début. Le logement était propre et confortable et l'emplacement était excellent. Nous avons été impressionnés par le soin et l'attention portée aux détails, ce qui a rendu l'expérience très positive. Nous reviendrons certainement!

TtorinessThis is a nice hotel in a great location in terms of seeing the key sights in the area we wanted to visit (walking distance to Sigiriya and Pidurangala rocks, and a short tuk tuk ride to a night loris walk). It is on a main road so there is a bit of noise from that if you have a room at the front of the hotel like we did - especially some loud music playing early in the morning. I recommend asking for a room as far away from the road as available. The room was more basic than I expected for the price but importantly it was big and clean. I think you are paying the price for a proper hotel in this location. The hotel pool is big and very clean, it is perfect for a dip to cool down - and very scenic, surrounded by lovely trees. We were a bit disappointed with the hotel restaurant menu which has nearly no vegetarian options on it, and similarly the breakfast buffet wasn’t worth it for us to purchase, but there are lots of other restaurants walking distance from the hotel to go to. The staff were helpful especially in putting us in touch with the loris night tour.
