Yamagata Kaku Hotel & Spa is a beautiful hotel with a great location. From the moment you step inside, you’re welcomed by a very pleasant and soothing fragrance, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The hotel facilities are excellent, especially the in-room hot spring water and the large bathtub, which made the stay very relaxing. Both the room and bathroom are very spacious, clean, and well designed. The provision of a kimono added a lovely traditional touch and enhanced the overall experience.

the hot spring is great (the ones for female and male separately ; the room is excellent.. however, the buffet quality is somehow disappointing. i barely found anything that i could finish or wanted 2nd round - especially the meat/seafood dish.. even the quality of fruits also deteriorated. for future, i would not stay at hotel. will just get the hot spring coupons for hot spring (onsen) only. not worthy to spend almost $400 a night with the food quality

The staff is very friendly and helpful. When we want to book a charter car, the staff called service providers and gave us the one with the best price. The food is really good- good quality and good spread. There are plenty activities to do within the hotel- from treadmill, hotspring spa, craftwork and yoga

Hotel de printemps chaud avec vue spectaculaire sur la piscine au toit, la nuit du film et le printemps chaud. Petit-déjeuner buffet et spacieux chambres et dans les chambres. Très recommandé et certainement restera là encore. Ce dîner au restaurant de l'hôtel parce qu'il est pluie, goûteux et un service excellent mais se sent un peu pressé avec 100 minutes de temps.

It’s super easy to walk to from the bus station (Jiaoxi transfer station). It took us less then 5 mins and simple stroll through the hotspring park. We have a room for three. It a queen bed and a twin. We really enjoy the in room hot springs bathtub. The coffee,drink and popsicle are available 24/7 which is very convenient. Highly recommended.

La chambre est propre mais petite. La dame de bouchon qui nous a vérifié n'a pas montré d'hospitalité. Nous avons vérifié un jour de semaine sans emploi, mais elle nous a mis dans une chambre près de la route principale avec des voitures qui passaient par le bruit. L'isolation de la fenêtre était mal faite, et pas de preuves sonores. La dame de bouche ne nous a jamais accueillis tout le temps, pas même un sourire. Toutes les fois que nous la voyons, elle tourna son visage, très froid. Nous ne nous sentions pas bienvenus. Le jour suivant, une autre dame, beaucoup plus fine et plus agréable, était très heureuse. Elle était très polie. Elle aurait été une expérience plus agréable si elle nous avait servis lors de l'entrée.

The building B was opposite the actual hotel. Entrance at the lane beside YinShun Shiuan bakery. Room was clean and in room hot spring was nice for family. Many good eateries at the back lanes.

First of all, this is a very old hotel that has seen truly better days. While maintained well, it has retained it's original furnishings and decor from the 1980s and 1990s. Staying here reminded me of my childhood travelling with my family in the 80s. The actual room does not look anything like the ones shown on the website. The hard floors mean you should wear their slippers or bring your own room slippers. The hot spring water advertised is just hot spring water pipes that go into your bathtub. There is a step that emulates hot spa step in the bathtub. The breakfast was good with nice braised meat and eggs that you can put over your rice or porridge. There's also hot soy milk. But no hot tea, only coffee. The staff look tired but hard working. There was a grumpy older lady receiptionist when we checked in and she was pretty rough in the check in process. E.g. ”if you don't put a number here, and you leave things in the hotel, we'll just throw them away! Just to tell you first.” Room was quite small or cosy, depending on your perspective. The only thing new was the air-conditioner. The TV set had all the settings for channels but none worked. Internet wifi was not quite working too.

I really wanted to love this hotel because it has some great features, especially for families. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful throughout our stay, which made a positive impression right away. However, there were several downsides that made the experience disappointing. The location feels quite isolated—almost like you’re in the middle of nowhere. While there is a train station about 10 minutes away, getting there with a stroller was difficult and inconvenient due to the lack of sidewalks. Unfortunately, our room had a leaking ceiling that appeared moldy, which was concerning and definitely not what you expect from a hotel of this caliber. On top of that, you can hear trains passing by every so often, which can be disruptive. One of the main reasons I chose this hotel was for the kids’ playground and the buffet. While the playground was a nice feature, the buffet did not meet expectations as it was disappointing for a fancy hotel. Overall, the friendly staff were a highlight, but the issues with the room, location, and dining made the stay fall short of expectations.
