We stayed at the Melissa gold coast hotel from the 11th until the 18th of october with a last-minute booking. We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel. It is a mid-sized, family managed hotel, located in the center of Psakoudia (Sithonia). It is very close to a good quality (private) beach, but due to the period we were here, it was not really beach weather. Even then, Giannis provided sunbeds just for us. During the season, the hotel offers a swimming pool and enough entertainment for young and old, including a beach bar. Also regular Greek nights are organised. We had a big enough studio with a view at a small park, which was basic and clean. It had a small kitchen with enough equipment (pots,pans knives, forks, a waterheater, refrigerator and an oven with 2 pits). It had a well-sized bathroom and a good size terras. The double bed had a good matrass. After a few days, it became colder, but we were pleasantly surprised we could turn the airconditioner to also heat up the room! This was really an added value. Nothing was too much to ask. We arrived at 3'o clock in the night and Giannis was still waiting for us to give us the key and showed us the way! (Just one hint if you rent a car and use the GPS. The hotel is in the middle of 2 streets, but the main entrance is not at the beach side, but at the upper street). Although we were the only guests present, Giannis prepared each day a great breakfast for us and he had the time to sit down with us. He provided a lot of information what to do and what to visit. He even showed us enough information to do a 3 day tour around Halkidiki and each day he listened proudly what we did the previous day. (You could hear that he was very proud of his home region). Since the hotel was located in the middle of Psakoudia, you have a big choice of restaurants, but again, due to the time of the season, only 2 were open (which we could find). There were no shops open, but you could find 2 supermarkets in the neighborhood. In short, we had a great time at the Melissa Gold coast hotel, also thanks to Giannis and we will definitively come back. We also liked Halkidiki. It was our first visit to the mainland and although the weather was not very coöperative (which was to be expected that late in the season), we enjoyed visiting the peninsula. Thanks to Giannis and his family to make our visit a very enjoyable one. Hope to see you again soon!

Points positifs : L'hôtel est assez bien situé car proche des belles plages qui se situent de l'autre côté de la péninsule (10kms). La plage de l'hôtel est déjà très très belle. La restauration est bonne : j'ai déjà vu (rarement) mieux mais j'ai surtout vu (souvent) nettement moins bien. Alors oui les fruits sont un peu durs, comme dans toute les restaurations collective mais de gros efforts sont faits et c'est bon : il y a même un potager avec des légumes et des condiments que le chef utilise régulièrement (si vous avez le bonheur de tomber sur une salade faire avec les tomates du jardin... C'est un régal !). Le personnel est aux petits soins, avec le sourire et de manière vraiment attentionnée. Nous avons pu bénéficier d'une chambre avec piscine privée que nous ne manquerons pas de réserver la prochaine fois. Équipements sportifs dignes d'un centre pro et piscines communes agréables. La chambre est belle et bien conçue. Les environs ne sont plus dégradés (un autre édifice voisin semble être en cours de construction prochaine, les terrains sont donc entretenus). Pas une seule guêpe pour nous gâcher la fête ;-) Plage vraiment très sympa avec, là aussi, personnel aux petits soins. Jamais on ne se sent à l'étroit ou trop nombreux, même s'il y a encore trop d'imbéciles qui déposent leurs serviettes sur les transats en front de mer et laissent parfois même les jouets des enfants ou les bouées, histoire de s'approprier les lieux au nez et à la barbe de tous (je crois que cette pratique est malheureusement internationale tout comme la bêtise qui n'a pas de frontières elle non plus). Points négatifs : vigilance sur la propreté de la piscine et des bains bouillonnants. Par ailleurs, dans les chambres, Le ménage est tout juste correctement fait...si toutefois vous avez la chance de convenir aux horaires souhaités des agents ! Sans quoi ils ne passent tout simplement pas et manqueront pas de vous faire ressentir par ailleurs si tel n'est pas le cas ! Sans compter les multiples réveils y compris lorsque vous prenez soin d'indiquer qu'il ne faut pas vous déranger sur le panonceau (tout en leur laissant une plage horaire très large pour ce faire puisqu'on se doute qu'ils ne peuvent être disponibles à tout moment... Bref). Gestion de l'eau et des déchets catastrophique : arrosage des jardins en plein après-midi par 42 degrés celcius, aucun tri des déchets, serviettes changées et lavées à l'envie (même après s'en être servi une fois) : it's time to change ! Ce n'est pas comme ça qu'on va y arriver.....surtout en étant les victimes directes du changement climatique (incendies immenses à cette période). Ça donne un sentiment étrange de culpabilité et de ”jemenfoutisme” général que ce soit de la part de l'hôtel que de la part des clients. Ce sera vraiment un point à améliorer.
