Perfect for me as it’s right across from the office but probably not so great if you wanted to be in the city centre although it’s only an £8 taxi ride or £2 bus ride. Opposite a Beefeater which was handy but I would prefer an on-site bar and restaurant. Felt a bit uncomfortable on check-in to be asked if I was a smoker (I’m not) and if anyone would be joining me later 😳. Didn’t like the bed being made up with sheets, blanket and counter pane as it’s quite uncomfortable particularly on one of the hottest days of the year although the mobile air conditioning unit helped (first time I’ve had sheets and blankets for over 30 years since the day I got married despite extensive business (weekly) and leisure travel (4-6 times a year)). Hotel was very clean and the bathroom was well equipped. A bottle of water would have been a welcome addition to the room particularly in such hot weather. Not sure who to recommend the hotel to as it’s neither a corporate hotel with all the amenities or a home from home. Breakfast was on offer for an additional £15 and I decided to wait until I checked in to see. As I wanted to be in the office for 8am and there was no menu available, times of service or visibility of a dining room, other facilities or even other guests, I decided it may be too intimate and opted for a cold sandwich I had stored in the office fridge ‘just in case’. Was similarly priced to the executive room I had in the Novotel last week which had a full buffet breakfast included.

Clean and well lighted room. Great facilities with fitness room and multitude gaming setups. Even have a bar in the lobby. Serving great foods. All and all really enjoy the stay. Well recommended!

Merci.

When I looked at the reviews for the TLodge I was a bit dubious, most are first time TripAdvisors and give shout outs to various staff - but honestly it's the staff that make this place. they work really hard, deal with difficult customers and are so freindly, helpful and professional. It's in a great location. Short walk from the Q park carpark. RIght next to the main road, so noisy with traffic and sirens. But easy to find. You can't really drop your bags off outside, but if you park first you can ferry your stuff over fairly easily, but bring a wheelie bag! Bishal and Viraj and Raj went over and above to welcome us and assist us with directions and advice. We booked a DoubleRoomPlus and we didn't get what we paid for. First it was on the top floor, great it was quieter but the LIFT WAS OUT OF ACTION, we were told it would be fixed the next day, but we met some workmen who had been staying there for weeks and they said the lift had been out of action for AGES. They helped us to our room with our bags. True to their promise the lift was out of action for the duration of our stay and there was no sign of it being fixed. Not great when you are on the fourth floor and struggle with stairs. Not impressed. The upgrade room has a Lavazza coffee machine. Well ... it did - but we were given TWO pods. One decaf and one with milk. I drink my coffee black and strong. Two pods??? We managed to get a few more from Bishal and Viraj, but I expected a decent choice of coffee. FAIL. But best of all the mugs don't fit under the machine, so you have to hold the cup while it fills?? Bonkers!! The bathroom hand wash was empty, the room tired and not that clean, the shower luke warm, the door looked like it had been bashed in and repaired? But we did have 'free' wifi for our stay. The room was not cleaned and though we were asked about fresh towels - we said yes please, we didn't get any. I would give the staff FIVE stars but the hotel itself a ONE star. Honestly could do so much better?? It's not that cheap to stay here, plus it costs about 12.50 per day to park nearby. It suited our needs for the trip but I would not rush back, except to say thank you to Bishal and Viraj and Raj.

Really nice stay for reasonable rate and really helpful staff. Thank you so much. It was a good experience. Will recommend my family and friends if they need a stay in Reading.
