**Hotel Review: Aesthetic Excellence Overshadowed by Comfort Failures** Our recent stay at this supposedly 5-star hotel left us with mixed feelings. While the hotel clearly invested heavily in aesthetics, creating a visually stunning environment that looks fantastic in photos, the design seemed to prioritize form over function, ultimately compromising our comfort. Sadly, this became a deal-breaker for us. The most glaring issue was the room's ventilation and temperature control—or lack thereof. We visited in early March, and the entire building was excessively heated. Despite being from a tropical country and accustomed to warm weather, I found myself sweating in shorts and a singlet. The staff, though polite and eager to help, seemed powerless to address the issue. They provided us with a small portable AC unit, which was better than nothing, but it was clear from their demeanor that this was a recurring problem for guests. Sleeping was a nightmare. The only way to cool the room slightly was to keep the windows open, but this meant having the blinds and curtains up, allowing outside noise and light to flood in. The choice was between sleeping in a sauna-like environment or enduring the disturbances from outside. Needless to say, we had a terrible night's sleep and were relieved to check out after just one night. On a positive note, the service was impeccable. The staff truly deserve recognition for their efforts to assist guests despite the limitations they faced. The breakfast spread was also a highlight—delicious, varied, and reasonably priced, especially if you inform them in advance about adding breakfast to your stay. The room amenities were top-notch, and the spaciousness of the room added to the overall sense of luxury. We got a family suite which was plenty spacious and came with 2 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 bathtubs and a living area. However, these positives couldn’t outweigh the discomfort caused by the poor temperature regulation. During our trip, we stayed in four different cities across China, and this was the only hotel that lacked proper air conditioning and heating controls. For a 5-star establishment, this is a significant oversight. In conclusion, while the hotel excels in aesthetics, service, and amenities, the lack of a well-thought-out solution for room temperature is a major drawback. Management needs to address this issue with a long-term fix. After all, no matter how beautiful a hotel looks, it’s hard to appreciate it when you can’t get a good night’s rest.

The entire property feels like a calm, artistic sanctuary — stylish but never cold, luxurious but never pretentious . In short, this was one of our best couple getaways ever. We highly recommend it to any couple seeking a peaceful, upscale escape in Aranya — we will absolutely be back!

L'hôtel est magnifique, l'air est frais, et les installations ainsi que l'hygiène sont irréprochables. Le petit-déjeuner et le dîner du restaurant sont délicieux. Le service global est satisfaisant. Cependant, je dois me plaindre d'une réceptionniste qui a répondu au téléphone le soir du 31, entre 19h et 22h. La première fois que j'ai signalé que la machine à laver de ma chambre ne fonctionnait pas, elle m'a dit qu'elle fuyait et qu'il ne fallait pas l'utiliser. J'ai fini par la réparer moi-même et l'utiliser. La deuxième fois que j'ai signalé que l'eau de la douche n'était pas chaude, elle a été encore plus absurde en me disant de laisser couler l'eau et qu'elle finirait par chauffer. Résultat, j'ai gaspillé près d'une demi-heure d'eau sans que l'eau ne chauffe. Finalement, c'est le personnel d'entretien qui est venu et a inséré la carte de gaz, ce qui a résolu le problème. Le plus grave, c'est son attitude désagréable et son entêtement. Elle n'a pas reconnu son manque de compétence dans la résolution des problèmes et s'est montrée arrogante. Je lui donne une mauvaise note ! De plus, l'hôtel est très proche de la Grande Muraille de Jinshanling, cela vaut absolument le détour !

We had an amazing stay at Shangri-La. The location is perfect! very close to the beach, which made everything even more enjoyable. The food was delicious, and the room service, as well as all the staff, were incredibly warm, kind, and attentive. We originally planned to stay for two nights, but we loved it so much that we extended our stay for one more night. The swimming pool was clean and well-maintained. We truly enjoyed our time by the sea riding bikes along the beach, feeding the seagulls, and taking beautiful photos. It was a wonderful and memorable experience.

I stayed at this Holiday Inn store when I visited Shijiazhuang for the first time, I liked it so much I always stay here. Then I reserve this hotel often for my daughter’s frequent visits to Shijiazhuang, and after her stay this time, she strongly urged me to write a review since she was so impressed by the manager 賈曉玲 who helped her to find an up-graded room while the front desk could not get her into a room after the regular check-in time(probably due to the May One holiday crowd). I sincerely appreciate 賈曉玲 for her helpfulness and kind gesture. I’d say, as a busy traveler myself, I see what she did truly represent the best of of the hospitality business, and for what she had done for my daughter( as well as me), she gained a faithful customer for life. Great experience and very foreigner-friendly This hotel left us with a very positive impression. The overall atmosphere is warm, well-organized, and welcoming, especially for international guests. The buffet breakfast deserves special mention. For us as foreigners, it was surprisingly good and thoughtfully prepared. Since some people have dietary restrictions (忌口), it was not always easy to eat local food outside, but the hotel’s buffet offered a wide variety of options that worked perfectly for different preferences and needs. We truly appreciated the effort. The location is excellent for skiing, the surroundings are beautiful, and everything is well arranged, which makes the stay smooth and enjoyable. The staff were friendly, professional, and always ready to help, which made the whole experience even better. Overall, this hotel is a great choice for both comfort and convenience. It gave us a very good impression of skiing in China, and we would happily recommend it to other international travelers

Il faut bien faire l'hôtel dès que vous êtes logé. Vous êtes surpris par le dispositif d'art de la Cour centrale! Les lampes métalliques de la couche de lampe de lampe qui ont été perdues, la lumière est étendue par l'appareil et reflétée sur un écran noir comme l'eau, la photo avec la lumière est de pointe et guéri, et les images sont toutes grandes et esthétiquement remplies. La route est décorée et légèrement et la couleur est stable. L'atmosphère est stable, les lieux de loisirs sont équipés de plateaux de bois et de canapés doux, l'art métallique dur et la décoration douce sont parfaitement équilibrées, le niveau spatial est très élevé, il n'y a pas de sensation de pression de l'hôtel de luxe, mais il est plein d'atmosphère calme et délicate. Les détails de l'espace public sont très attentifs et la disposition de la lumière est bénéfique, qu'il s'agisse de la carte de loisirs ou de la photo. L'environnement global est propre et propre, le design est doté d'un sentiment d'art et d'une pratique, il est très relaxé de vivre dans le corps et dans le cœur, il est vraiment plus que prévu de voyager ici, fortement recommandé à des amis qui se concentrent sur la modélisation environnementale!

The location is good on the first line from the sea. The whole resort is divided into several hotels, and it was a surprise for us. This hotel building is right side if you facing the sea. We booked a room with a sea view, but its main part was a pool roof. The pool, which you can visit for free while staying in this hotel, is too small, shallow, and overcrowded by kids from the city. The room is small. The bedding was clean, and all amenities were OK. Breakfast in the other building is not too bad, but it is necessary to come early because dishes are not addressed. The price of the proposed room and service is too high.

L'hôtel tombe en ruine, nous aimions cet hôtel en 2013 et en 2018, mais maintenant en 2024, il n'est plus aux normes comme avant. Les toilettes étaient cassées, la climatisation devait être réparée. Et le wifi ne fonctionnait pas correctement. Nous avons également eu des problèmes avec notre porte. Et c'était vraiment dommage que les gens fument dans l'hôtel, ça sentait partout, c'était dommage, vraiment ! D'un autre côté, et pour être positif, le personnel était super sympa, le petit déjeuner proposait beaucoup de nourriture (buffet). Et vous n'êtes pas loin de la gare de Cangzhou, vous êtes également à proximité d'un centre commercial avec une vie nocturne et des danses formidables, l'architecture de l'hôtel est FANTASTIQUE à l'extérieur et personnellement aussi à l'intérieur (seulement le hall). On dirait un palais. Ils ont également des commodités telles que des magasins, des restaurants, une salle de sport, etc. Si je devais améliorer cet hôtel, je suggérerais de maintenir les chambres d'hôtel, les couloirs et de rendre l'hôtel plus vivant, car j'ai vu plusieurs magasins fermés comme s'ils ne fonctionnaient plus. En résumé, devriez-vous séjourner dans cet hôtel ? Eh bien, cela dépend, si vous êtes prêt à supporter toute cette négativité, alors allez-y ! Mais si vous AVEZ BESOIN de votre appareil pour travailler à l'étranger, essayez de trouver un autre hôtel, comme un Holiday Inn dans la même ville. Tout cela semble super excitant, mais cela comporte aussi une part de négativité. J'espère que cela vous aidera !

Everything I needed during my stay was provided promptly and with genuine kindness. I would especially like to recognize Kara, Vicky (The house keeper), and Vivian for their exceptional service. They went above and beyond to make my stay truly worthwhile, always attentive, warm, and ready to help. Their dedication and hospitality made a real difference and left a lasting impression. InterContinental Shijiazhuang delivers world-class service and comfort. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again whenever I’m in the city.
