Que du bonheur. Tout à été parfait,l acceuil,la chambre, restauration. La gentillesse des Portugais n est plus à démontrer. Femme de ménage, serveur restaurant,bar PARFAIT et pourtant pas gagné car nous avons fonctionner avec traducteur Google.Un grand MERCIi à la réception qui nous à beaucoup aidé à cause de la grève aiguilleurs du ciel.Nous reviendrons 😊

The positives: The area and the beaches are beautiful. Soft sand and lots of places to get refreshments as you walk along the Boardwalk to Alvor. Alvor has many different eateries amongst the narrow streets and shops. Our visit in April provided lots of sunshine. Buffet breakfast provided lots of variety and similar for dinner. The pool snack bar/cafe has a good menu and the food served quickly and hot. The not so good: check-in at 3pm and the room wasn’t ready, it was nearer 4pm before we got into the room. The mattresses are very soft, lumpy and do not provide a comfortable night’s sleep. The towels in the bathroom are quite hard, and the toilet paper rough. Not what you’d expect from a 5-star hotel. There was no separate bin in the bathroom either. Clearing tables at breakfast and dinner either is too fast - you barely finish the last mouthful before the plate is removed; or plates aren’t cleared away quickly making it difficult for more people to be seated for breakfast and dinner. Waiting staff don’t all seem to know what they need to do; when a glass fell off a tray and smashed in the floor another waiter walked around it rather than looking to quickly get a brush. The restaurant takes your room number and notes this against your drinks order yet some nights asks you to pay directly rather than adding to your hotel bill on check-out. A disappointing experience. The indoor pool is not heated and whilst it has thalassotherapy jets and a jacuzzi the water is too cold. Towels for the pool are provided and indicated they can be in your room (we didn’t have any). Collection of towels is behind the bar near the pool snack area. On some nights the bar area has insufficient seating for guests at this time of year when it’s too chilly to seat outside after dinner. Staff experiences were mixed. Reception were friendly yet female manager in restaurant quite harsh and lacks customer service skills. Overall, the Alvor Praia is a 60s/70s inspired hotel which whilst has character the general condition of the hotel requires some maintenance. Based on our stay this is not a 5-star resort at best a high 3-star.

Fantastic hotel. Rooms cleaned every day location great. Reception staff very helpful and always had a smile Big thank you to Thomas ( I think that’s his name) at reception. Almost every night we asked him for directions to restaurants/ bus stops etc and he was so good at explaining it to us. Lovely pool area small but quiet and relaxing Breakfast staff were fine but a simple smile in the morning would have been nice A bit “ grumpy “ to say the least. Umberto was just great. He’s the tall one. Always had the biggest smile for you when we walked in. Very very nice man. Would recommend this hotel. If I ever return to ALVOR , I will certainly return to this hotel. !!! Just to say the jet 2 rep was wonderful. I took ILL one morning and she went above and beyond to help me. Phoned later that day to check on me and also the following day too. Wish I could remember her name. So a big thank you to her !!!

I would love to give this place a poor review to put people off going so I could keep it for myself but that would be doing the staff a real disservice. I can't fault this place at all- the place was spotless inside and out and the rooms were well equipped with fridge ,safe and air conditioning and lovely hot showers. The breakfast had something for everyone and changed each day. The staff are the real star of the show though and nothing is too much trouble. We mentioned we were looking for worry beads and the next thing we knew one of the waitresses at breakfast went across the street and brought back a selection for us to choose from and purchase from the shop opposite. Special mention to Ioanna who was so friendly and up for a laugh she really made our holiday. Great Central location but quiet with a lovely small pool and pool area. Can't wait to come back!

What more can I say that hasn’t already been said about this hotel we have stayed he about 10 times now even before it became the Pelican first of all let me mention all the staff they all go out of there way to help you out in any possible way they can .The bedrooms are very large and the kitchen has everything you need the bathroom is now looking a bit tired now but are adequate for your needs The breakfast is good with a good choice of all sorts of different foods The pool area is well kept and plenty of sun beds over all this hotel is spotlessly clean with all the cleaners working extremely hard .Have already rebooked for April

L'une des meilleures vacances jamais. Nous aimez le Portugal et nous parlons déjà de revenir. Les gens sont amis et étonnants. Le temps était grand, chaud et soleil chaque jour. Les logements dans les Villas de Pestana Beach étaient excellents. Très confortable et propre avec seulement 2 minutes de marche de la plage la plus merveilleuse. 10 minutes de marche à Alvor. 10 minutes de marche de Portimao. Très de shopping. Si il y avait plus d'étoiles, je les donnerais tous. Le personnel sont les meilleurs. Très aimable et utile. Notre dernier jour au resort nous avons fait le petit déjeuner et la fille au bureau nous a donné un petit déjeuner gratuit. Merci encore une fois à tous au resort. Nous nous retrouverons.

Personnel discret mais efficace. Logement nettoyé tous les jours avec linge de toilette sur demande. Appartement bien équipé et fonctionnel. Vue sud sur mer appréciable mais vue également sur piscine pouvant être parfois bruyante. Excellente situation sur Alvor au cœur du village, nombreux commerces, plage à 10mn à pied également possibilité de se garer aux alentours assez facilement. Clientèle essentiellement britannique lors de notre sejour comme partout en Algarve. Points négatifs : 1 espace piscine manquant de surveillance. Piscine qui devient vite un Aqualand pour enfants selon familles présentes ( bouées et plongeons pourtant interdits) La Douche obligatoire qui devient décorative car personne ne l utilise (hygiène...). Second point négatif : l isolation des appartements très moyenne. Chambres donnant directement dans un couloir. Là aussi, la tranquillité de votre séjour dépendra de vos voisins, dommage sinon c était un sans faute! Au final bon compromis dans le superbe village d Alvor.
