UUtilisateur anonymeI've stayed at Oakwood Hotel & Apartments Grand Batam twice this year, in February and May 2026, and once again, the experience exceeded expectations.
This time, I booked an Executive Twin room for my mother-in-law and her friend for a short getaway from 30 May to 1 June 2026.
The location is excellent—directly opposite Grand Batam Mall, making shopping, dining, and entertainment incredibly convenient. The hotel is also right next to Eska Wellness Spa, where guests can enjoy massages, hair treatments, manicures, and pedicures, making it perfect for a relaxing getaway.
Even before arrival, the service was impressive. I contacted the hotel via WhatsApp regarding a few special requests, and the staff were professional, responsive, and genuinely accommodating throughout the process.
Some highlights of the stay included:
• Spacious and spotlessly clean room
• Comfortable beds that provided a good night's rest
• Hot and cold water dispensers available at every lift lobby
• Smart TV with access to Netflix, YouTube, and other entertainment options
• Excellent breakfast spread with a wide variety of local and international selections
• Complimentary hi-tea, which was a delightful surprise and made the afternoons even more enjoyable
What truly sets this hotel apart is its people. Every staff member—from the front desk and housekeeping team to the chefs, waiters, and bellboys—provided exceptional service with warmth, professionalism, and genuine friendliness throughout the stay.
My mother-in-law and her friend did not have the opportunity to use the hotel facilities such as the swimming pool and gym during this stay, so we are unable to comment on those. However, based on their overall experience, they truly enjoyed every moment here and appreciated the comfort, convenience, and hospitality provided.
We will definitely be returning again and would highly recommend Oakwood Hotel & Apartments Grand Batam to families, couples, and anyone looking for a comfortable, convenient, and welcoming stay in Batam.

MMalaTMReste ici avec ma mère. Absolutement aimé mon séjour! L'hôtel est propre, sent bon, les lits sont grands et confortables, la toilette était petite mais la pression de la douche était puissance!! Le petit déjeuner était aussi grand! A eu une variété différente pour les 3 jours que j'ai séjourné! La location est aussi magnifique! La distance de marche à One Batam Mall et abt 10-15 mins saisir le chemin à tous les autres centres. Vous reviendrez certainement ici pour mon prochain voyage de batam!

IInvitéWe chose Wyndham Panbil due to its proximity to the nature reserve and also the view of the lake.
What we like:
- the view of the lake, at times we can see big birds or eagles flying across the lake
- it's proximity to the nature reserve. When we signed up for the hike, they had someone who picked us up from the lobby to the nature reserve and also back after that
- the service and the staff. All smiles all the time and very polite. They do not over promise and was upfront if they can or cannot fulfill our request. They go around asking for feedback on how to improve their service.
- they have a bakery and cafe selling local food nearby. The bakery opens from 10am onwards. There is also a supermarket nearby that sells all the essentials and even a butchery i guess for people staying at the apartment.
What was not ideal:
- though the lake is awesome the front road below can be noisy at times. Not a deal breaker cos we all slept through the night. Though there was some jam the night before hari raya other than that all the other evenings or nights the traffic was okay and we were not caught in any jam.
- the swimming pool water looks a bit murky esp the indoor one which I believe is the jacuzzi
- not much facilities for the kids except the pool
- the interior of the hotel looks dated, noted some upgrading happening. The flooring of the room had some slabs that were spoiled.
- they only had rain shower so it can be challenging for me to shower my child without getting myself wet
Other than that I think the service from the staff really made up for the limitations for the facilities.

SSumi BeenTheir service is very good. The staff are friendly, helpful, and always greet us warmly whenever we are there. The room is spacious, clean, and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay.
One thing that must be mentioned is the breakfast. There are many varieties of choices, including western, Malay, and Chinese food. Everything was delicious.
Even though the location is not very strategic and there are not many restaurants nearby, it was not a problem for us because we rented a motorbike.
Overall, we had a great experience and will definitely come back again for another stay.

Best described as ”luxury boutique”, the management team and staff have perfected the art of hospitality here.
I and my partner can find nothing to fault, from the quality of the welcome to the beautiful pool to the plentiful, varied and high quality breakfast buffet.

CChrichillI had a wonderful stay at the hotel with my husband and son, where I celebrated my birthday. The room was clean and comfortable, and all staff were courteous and attentive.
Special thanks to the General Manager, Mr. Bart, for being kind and approachable. It is no wonder the team is excellent under your leadership. Thank you as well for the complimentary drinks. I also commend Pritty for her excellent service at the restaurant. The food was very good, especially the carbonara.
I truly appreciate the thoughtful birthday greeting from Zamzam, Noven, Aura, and the rest of the team. Thank you to the front desk and all staff for the warm hospitality.

FFarhanaZulWe recently stayed at Montigo Resorts Nongsa to celebrate my birthday, and it turned out to be a memorable experience.
To our surprise, the resort gave us a complimentary upgrade to a beautiful three-storey villa, complete with two bedrooms, a spacious living area on the ground floor, and rooftop access on the top level. It was a lovely gesture that made my birthday feel even more special. We were also treated to a complimentary birthday cake, which was delicious and greatly appreciated.
A special mention goes to the staff, who were consistently friendly, professional, and welcoming throughout our stay. Their warm hospitality and attentiveness contributed greatly to the overall experience.
The resort itself is a great place if you're looking for a relaxing getaway where you can spend most of your time within the property. The villas are spacious, private, and perfect for unwinding.
One area that could be improved is the buggy service. While the staff were helpful, waiting times could sometimes range from 15 to 20 minutes even during our off-peak stay. I can imagine the wait may be even longer during peak periods, so increasing the frequency of buggies would certainly enhance the guest experience.
Do note that the resort is located about 30 minutes from Batam city centre, where most of the shopping malls and restaurants are. If you're planning to explore the city frequently, this is something worth considering.
Overall, we had a wonderful stay and truly appreciated the thoughtful birthday surprises. The villa upgrade, birthday cake, and excellent service made the occasion extra special, and we would definitely consider returning for another relaxing getaway.

De nombreuses installations manquent d'entretien : la piscine, la salle de sport, le club enfants… la liste est longue. Le personnel est excellent. Mais pourquoi l'hôtel, pourtant si populaire, n'en assure-t-il pas un entretien plus régulier ? La Covid-19 a semé la pagaille dans le monde entier. Mais de nombreux hôtels ont su se relever et accueillent à nouveau leurs clients avec espoir. Les hôtels doivent constamment se moderniser pour fidéliser leur clientèle.
Allées glissantes, démangeaisons après une nuit de sommeil et toilettes vétustes : voilà quelques-uns des problèmes rencontrés au Holiday Inn Batam.
Il est temps de voir comment améliorer votre note. C'est un excellent hôtel si vous améliorez son entretien.
Il n'est jamais trop tard pour commencer. J'espère revenir en 2026 si des améliorations ont été constatées.
