Hampton Inn Penn Yan

Penn Yan|À 9.27km de la Saunders Finger Lakes Museum
Location/Rooms: The hotel is situated at the top of Keuka lake and has unique room options that allow you to have rooms on the 1st floor with shared patio space. For those with mobility issues, please note that the Lobby, Breakfast area and Restaurant are on the main floor which is the 2nd floor. You need to take the elevator down to the 1st floor if you have one of the patio rooms. Take note that there are some renovations currently going on. It didn't bother me since well, if they can't do renovations in the off-season, when can they? When I stayed, they were working on the carpeting on the first floor. The patio rooms are perfect for those who crave fresh air during their stay. There's a door in your room that allows you to step out directly to the shared patio. I can't say if there's a noise issue during peak-season. I stayed in March and we were the only ones out on the patio during our stay. Take note that having a first floor/lake view room limits your privacy as anyone out on the patio can walk by your windows. That should be obvious but I guess it's easy to forget that. I must point out here that if you're not a fan of waterfowl, this might not be the place for you (in fact, the Finger Lakes in general). Plenty of Canadian geese, seagulls and ducks hanging out by the lake shore. I believe we stayed in the largest room, corner suite/lake view with a king bed and sofa bed. I took the sofa bed and as long as you have your expectations in check, you should be fine ( I mean, it's a sofa bed, after all.) The one thing I would point out is that the sofa bed is right next to the heating unit. I like my hotel room warm so obviously the unit was running a lot. I didn't have an issue sleeping next to it with it running, but some people might. The room is very open and bright. The photos on the website are accurate. Personally, I enjoyed the large table that is in this room. The bathroom was in solid condition. I don't know why but it seems that in every hotel, the bathroom is the first room to show wear. I won't take any points off but I if you're super fussy (and you paid a lot in peak season) you might be irritated by a few wear marks. Note that the bathroom sink is actually outside of the bathroom. It sounds odd but it actually works very well with the layout of the room. It's in the main room, between the bathroom itself and the closet. This particular room also had a small counter with a sink, and underneath a microwave and mini-fridge. I personally thought everything in the room was very clean. Breakfast: Breakfast is included at Hampton Inns and again, can't speak for peak-season, but in March this was pretty simple but typical. Waffles, toast, bagels, pre-packaged pastries, cereal, oatmeal, fruit, yogurt as well as a type of egg and sausage dish each day. One day it was scrambled eggs and turkey sausage, the next it was what looked like an egg omelet and possibly polish sausage (I was just grabbing a bagel so I didn't g
