Mauvaise hygiène, quelques poils sur le lit, draps mal posés, installations médiocres, pas de salle de douche séparée dans la salle de bain pour rester debout dans la baignoire pour pleuvoir, l'hôtel a une longue histoire, mais je pense personnellement que cela ne vaut pas le prix. pas mal. Je suis passé et je n'y suis resté qu'une nuit. Egg Castle était fermé ce matin-là.

Hôtel de luxe dans la grande tradition “palace suisse” dans le quartier de Chiaia avec une magnifique vue sur la baie de Naples & le Vésuve. Superbes halls d’entrée et parties communes aux sols de marbres polychromes p****més de copies du 19 des statues antiques des grandes collections comme la Farnese et de bronzes retrouvés à pompei, meubles et tableaux anciens. Personnels de la réception, concierges, grooms, portier, serveurs maître d’hôtel etc très professionnels et au service du client; ça nous change du personnel des hôtels de chaînes!! Magnifique roof top avec terrasse bar restaurant modernes et salle du petit déjeuner. Le petit dej servi à table est très complet avec beaucoup de choix. Des chambres sont en rénovation, nous avons eu une chambre vue mer au 1er étage non rénovée mais confortable (demander 1 chambre au 4 ou 5eme étage pour être plus au calme car il y a beaucoup de circulation sur le corso . L’hôtel est a 10 mn à pied du métro ligne 2 très pratique pour se rendre à pompei. Le parquet de la chambre était très abîmé ainsi que les murs de l’entrée et il manque une piscine si possible au dernier étage pour donner la note maximale!

« Idéalement situé » : cette expression si galvaudée s’applique tout particulièrement au Royal Continental qui est situé face à la mer, face au Castel dell’Ovo et offre une vue panoramique qui va du Vésuve à Posillipo en passant par la côte de Sorrente et Capri. Mais cette situation littorale privilégiée n’éloigne pas du centre, qui n’est qu’à quelques minutes à pied, en traversant la piazza del Plebiscito et en longeant le majestueux Palazzo Real. Le Royal Continental est un grand hôtel accueillant et confortable, tout particulièrement le lobby et le bar, garnis de bois et qui offrent de superbes fauteuils Poltrona Frau et d’autres de Gio Ponti. Car Gio Ponti (dont il reste la piscine sur le rooftop) a été l’architecte d’intérieur de cet hôtel dont toutes les chambres du premier étage sont encore meublées avec les meubles d’origine de Gio Ponti, des meubles précieux en ronce de noyer verni, en orme ou en acajou, les chambres déclinant chacune une couleur, bleu, jaune ou rouge. L’hôtel, à mon avis, n’exploite pas suffisamment la rareté d’un ameublement Gio Ponti, qui reste un des maîtres du design du XXe siècle. Même remarque pour les deux boutiques, qui pourraient proposer des objets (vaisselle, foulards, que sais-je) signés Ponti. Mais même les chambres qui ne disposent que d’un meuble de Ponti (un fauteuil, une table basse, une chaise) sont très confortables, elles ont été rénovées avec soin et ont toutes d’un balcon sur la mer. Le petit déjeuner servi au dixième étage, avec donc une vue encore plus époustouflante que celle des chambres, offre un choix exceptionnel de pâtisseries toutes fraîches (je n’en dirai pas autant des confitures...). L’ensemble du personnel, à la fois très accueillant, très professionnel, reste discret, et invite à revenir, ce que nous ferons assurément.

Encouraged by the effusive reviews on this thread we booked for 2 nights. Our experience was not quite in line with the uncritical approvals that we had read. First, in its favour, the staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful as reported by others. The pick up from the airport by a ‘private’ car really helped avoid the chaos around Arrivals. The fit out of this otherwise time-weary building was clever and showed sensitive creativity. The open access kitchen for guests was appreciated and the breakfast was thoughtful and generous. However…there were some issues. This part of town is not for everyone. If you want the immersive experience in the 'centro storico' with all of the mayhem that entails, fine. You should know that the entrance to the building is pretty scruffy with much needed security doors in place. Our room was the one heavily photographed on this thread. It looks down on a small Piazza in front of the cathedral. On the second evening a huge group of children started to play a very noisy game of football at around 6.00pm. They were still there when we returned from dinner and indeed until well past midnight which made sleep impossible without the aid of noise cancelling headphones. Not the hotel’s fault but thank goodness for technology! The room had a TV but as it could only receive 3 or 4 channels, it was of limited use. The (empty) mini fridge made such an irritating electrical buzzing that we had to pull the plug out. The safe, well that was hilarious. It was a tiny metal box, approximately 25cm square, only lockable with a key and… not attached to the wall or anything else! A thief could simply tuck it under his arm and be away. If you had hoped to be able to store your tablet or laptop safely you would be disappointed. The Bathroom was simply but inexpensively fitted out but already showing signs of wear. On the second day we returned in the afternoon to find that the Housekeeper’s keys had been left in our door-lock providing quick and easy access to anyone interested. We were asked to pay in cash to settle the bill as ‘we had booked directly and received best rates’. This was most peculiar. In a lifetime of travelling I have never been asked to pay cash to settle a hotel bill. We negotiated our way around this and payed in the usual way but still, most odd! And not mentioned by any of the other reviewers. The price was around €220 per night. For the same (actually slightly less) money we then stayed in a full service 4 star hotel in a smart part of town which while old fashioned in decor, was superior in most other respects. Sorry but a fair price for the Duomo House in our opinion would be around €150 and then you might be willing to forgive some of the shortcomings.

Je suis très heureux de ma expérience dans ce B&B. La position est excellente pour visiter à pied tout le centre historique. Les chambres sont nouvelles et il y a tout ce qui est nécessaire pour une séjour confortable. Le petit déjeuner peut être choisi le jour précédent et est très varié. Ornella est une fille très disponible et aimable. Nous reviendrons certainement!

Qu'est-ce que je dis ... vraiment au centre de tout!!! Nous avons séjourné dans cet hôtel pour 3 nuits: une chambre très confortable, très spacieuse avec douche très grande, adaptée pour se remettre après avoir tourné toute la journée pour visiter une ville de mille facettes. Petit-déjeuner abondant avec des cornets frais, dignes de ce nom ...e pas surgelati...come Nous sommes habitués à manger presque partout! À l'intérieur du banc, il y a le sourire d'Aida ...e les excellents cappuccines servis avec courtoisie et professionnalité! Personnel et propriétaires tout très gentil ...Marco sait comprendre le client et donner des conseils précieux ...pour optimiser votre séjour et visiter le plus possible en fonction de vos goûts personnels! L'hôtel est à moins de deux pas de la célèbre Pizzeria Sorbillo, de la route San Gregorio Armeno, du monastère de Santa Chiara, de la chapelle San Severo etc .....restaurants, tracteurs, pizzeries, pâtisseries sont à chaque mètre le long de la route Tribunals ...en somme le seul Le problème est que vous mangez toujours à Naples! Certainement quand nous reviendrons dans cette ville, nous allons héberger à nouveau à Naples ...

-I hv read many reviews and for the haters I hv to put to you; what did you pay and what do you therefore expect? -This hotel is CENTRAL to everything, it’s basically off the Spaccanapoli! -Providing you are mobile you can walk EVERYWHERE👏🏼 -The rooms are basic and probably a little tired (I am staying here now with my son in a twin bedded room), but they are kept VERY clean and the towels (I would not expect this) are changed daily as are the soap/shampoo/bath foam. -We hv a fridge. We hv Netflix (too tired to watch)….. -The electric sockets (next to bed) are a little unstable but everything works. -We came to sleep and shower in our rooms, we didn’t come to hang out in them. They are appropriate to meet our needs, we don’t hv complaints. -If I’d paid twice the money I’d expect a top dollar experience….. -The staff are pleasant and polite. The breakfast is typically continental; you can request extra teas and coffees. -We are satisfied ENTIRELY based on what we paid. Bravo Hotel Caravaggio, we hv loved Napoli🇮🇹🫶🏼🧚🏼‍♀️
