C'était une lune de miel parfaite ! J'ai pleuré tout le long du chemin du retour. Les propriétaires, Mike et Sarah Tom, étaient incroyablement gentils et attentionnés, comme de la famille ! On se sentait vraiment comme à la maison ! C'était un rêve devenu réalité. Le service était excellent, on se sentait tellement comme chez soi, tellement plus heureux que de retourner dans l'atmosphère étouffante de ma maison familiale. Nous avons reçu un accueil chaleureux et passé un séjour formidable. La nourriture était également très bonne, et les massages étaient à la fois abordables et excellents. J'ai très envie d'y retourner et de séjourner à nouveau ici pendant un certain temps !

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The BEST hostel experience I’ve ever had! I honestly cannot recommend Yellow Umbrella Hostels in Cebu City enough. From the moment I arrived until the moment I checked out, every single part of my stay exceeded my expectations. The first thing that stood out was how spotlessly clean everything was. The rooms, bathrooms, common areas, everywhere was exceptionally well maintained. You can really tell that the staff takes great pride in keeping the hostel comfortable, organized, and welcoming. What truly makes this place special, though, is the people. Manager Glen deserves special recognition. He goes above and beyond to make every guest feel welcome, valued, and at home. His professionalism, kindness, and genuine care for guests create such a positive atmosphere that you can feel it throughout the entire hostel. And honestly, the rest of the staff were just as incredible. I would write names but truly every staff was amazing because every single person I met was outstanding. They were always smiling, approachable, eager to help, and genuinely seemed to enjoy making guests’ experiences unforgettable. That level of hospitality is rare and deserves to be celebrated. The atmosphere is warm, safe, and incredibly comforting. Whether you’re traveling solo or with friends, this hostel makes it easy to relax, meet amazing people, and truly enjoy your time in Cebu. The service was consistently exceptional, every request was handled quickly, every interaction was friendly, and nothing ever felt like too much trouble. I’ve stayed in many accommodations while traveling, and Yellow Umbrella Hostels genuinely ranks among the very best. It’s not just a place to sleep, it’s a place that makes you feel at home. If you’re visiting Cebu City, do yourself a favor and stay here. You won’t regret it. Thank you to Glen and the entire team for making my trip so memorable. J’adore l’idée du distributeur d’eau pour réduire l’utilisation du plastique. Peut prendre de l'eau chaude, normale et froide de la machine près de ma chambre 605. Je me suis senti si familier lorsque j'ai décidé de réserver une nuit ici. Quand je suis entré dans la chambre, j'ai ouvert mon e-mail pour voir que j'étais resté une fois le 21 mars 2019. La chambre est très grande et confortable bien qu'elle ne soit pas neuve. Le charme de l'hôtel et du personnel est toujours le même. Le petit déjeuner est préparé et simple. Le restaurant est fermé à 21h30, nous avons donc dû sortir pour dîner. Facile de trouver des endroits pour manger autour de l'hôtel. À proximité de 2 centres commerciaux Robinson au rond-point et près d'un dépanneur. Déposez 1 000 pesos. Le 7ème étage est entouré de murs très hauts, ce qui fait que la vue est bloquée. S'ils rénovent, espérons qu'ils fabriqueront plutôt des clôtures en verre.

We were there with my daughter just for some days and spent to receive PADIS diving certification due to the coach Lin and Head of diving center John, see the Mallball paintful food market and see the local life in seaside. The seawater is clear like glass, plenty of sealife under the leg even close to the beach, awesome surrounding - mountains, tropical vegetation and fancy restaurants and hotels along the beach and of course local boats looking rustic and gorgeous. The food was delicious, staff was friendly. Everything was the best!

My fiancé and I had a wonderful stay at the Blue Orchid, and it truly exceeded our expectations in every way. Our room was clean, comfortable, and had a  view of the ocean over the treetops. It felt peaceful and private — exactly the atmosphere we were hoping for. The staff were exceptional — so friendly, kind, and accommodating. They helped me plan a surprise proposal for my fiancé, offering suggestions for the perfect location and ultimately arranging for us to use their private rooftop. They also coordinated a romantic dinner there just for us, ensuring we had complete privacy. It was an unforgettable evening, and I’m so grateful for the care they put into making it so special. The resort arranged our transportation both from our previous hotel in Mactan and later to Cebu Pier 1, which made travel stress-free. We also booked canyoneering and an introductory scuba dive through them. The instructors were fantastic — very patient and reassuring, especially when I became nervous underwater and couldn’t finish the dive. While the resort is a bit removed from the busier Panagsama Beach area, that was a huge plus for us. We wanted somewhere quiet, scenic, and romantic, and Blue Orchid delivered exactly that. The restaurant doesn’t have a massive menu, but the food was consistently delicious, portions were perfect, and prices were very fair. Even though there wasn’t a kettle in the room, hot water, coffee and tea was readily available and it was never an inconvenience since everything was close by. We also appreciated the mosquito net over the bed — it added to the tropical charm, though we didn’t need it because insects were never an issue. We even spotted a tiny gecko in our room upon arrival, but it was harmless and quickly disappeared — just part of the island’s character! Overall, the Blue Orchid was everything we hoped for: quiet, romantic, and welcoming. The staff helped make one of the most meaningful moments of our lives absolutely perfect. I would highly recommend it, especially to LGBTQ+ travelers looking for a peaceful and genuinely inclusive place to stay in Moalboal. When we do a return trip to the area, we will stay here again. 

Cet hôtel est situé sur une route principale, avec un trafic intense jusque tard dans la nuit. Si vous avez un vol tôt le matin, je vous conseille un hôtel plus calme. Cependant, comme il est situé dans deux bâtiments différents, d'autres chambres pourraient être plus calmes. Le lit était plutôt confortable. Le transfert aéroport gratuit n'est disponible que toutes les deux heures ; nous avons donc dû nous lever à 1 h du matin pour un vol à 5 h. Sinon, nous aurions probablement manqué l'enregistrement. Le personnel de l'hôtel est adorable et très serviable. Nous avons également été accueillis avec une boisson fraîche à notre arrivée. Au départ, ils ont chargé les bagages dans le véhicule. Une petite salle de sport se trouve dans le deuxième bâtiment, avec un sauna et un nombre raisonnable d'appareils de sport. Mais ne vous attendez pas à trouver tous les équipements d'une salle de sport commerciale. Un service de massage payant et une piscine extérieure sont également disponibles.

Climatisation efficace, douche chaude, personnel agréable, prix intéressant. Les lits ont été rapprochés et il y avait des miettes en dessous, mais je comprends. C'est plutôt pratique qu'il y ait une cuisine équipée avec évier et placards. Quelqu'un a touché à la poignée de la porte de la chambre voisine, je ne sais pas pourquoi. J'ai aussi dû verser une caution de 2 000 PHP, ce qui m'a surpris. Deux petites taches d'eau, mais les draps et les serviettes étaient propres. Le quartier est bien. Les fenêtres et les portes laissent passer le bruit de la rue et des couloirs. Malgré tout, j'y retournerais volontiers.

C'est un nouvel hôtel très innovant. La chambre dispose d'un grand lit, d'une couette très confortable et d'un lavabo pour laver les fruits. C'est très pratique. La salle de bain est également bien séparée de l'eau et du sec et l'espace est très grand. Le seul regret est que le bruit dégoulinant de la climatisation à l'étage m'a empêché de dormir toute la nuit. La climatisation de fenêtre était trop bruyante et difficile à adapter. Plus tard le lendemain matin, ils m'ont immédiatement transféré dans une autre chambre. L'attitude de l'hôtel en matière de gestion était très correct. Même s'il n'y avait pas de bruit de goutte, je me contenterai du bruit du moteur climatisé. Si je reviens sur l'île de Mactan à Cebu, je reviendrai ici. Le point clé est que l'eau chaude est grande et la pression de l'eau est forte, ce qui rend la baignade très confortable. Il y a aussi un spa en bas avec des massages super confortables ^^

There’s no ocean view. Unless you hang off the small balcony that faces a wall. No Jacuzzi, no Onsen, and no smoking zone as advertised and instructed upon arrival. I was cooking bacon and, although I couldn’t hear any alarm, I had security staff insisting they enter the property to check. Fine. 5 minutes later, despite trying to eat, I had to ask them to leave when one of them wanted to take a photo of my meal. That’s intrusive, because it’s unnecessary, and I couldn’t wait to leave the building after that. The location is good, close to the shops and restaurants, the new museum being built, and 5 minutes away from the only open space, a vacant lot, the town as allocated as a smoking area. Unfortunately, it’s covered in cigarette butts and trash and from the moment you arrive the local girls stalk you. Awkward. This was fine for 4 days but not somewhere I would want to stay for longer or live.

It's a mixed bag. The location is excellent, offering a different, good sea every day. For safe swimming, you need to follow the tide schedule. The hotel grounds and plants are very well maintained; they're beautiful and clean. There's a long stretch of beach for strolls. Logistically convenient – there are plenty of cafes, restaurants, shops selling travel essentials, and a market with fresh produce nearby. A major drawback is the large construction site nearby, which can be heard all day, especially in the bungalows nearby. The rooms and bungalows are in fair condition. However, there are some serious downsides: every other day, it was impossible to shower due to low water pressure; when the pressure was low, the water heater wouldn't turn on; and the water had a strong sewer smell. At breakfast, the restaurant won't offer you salt, pepper, or sauces unless you ask. Drinks include juice from concentrate or coffee. Only after a week did we discover they offer tea for breakfast. The breakfast is very basic, and there's no fruit at all, which is surprising given the price of fruit on the island. There was trash on the beach all week, just a little bit, washed up by the sea. It was cleaned up quickly, as it didn't require much effort. But why is the beach cleaned only once a week? The hotel website advertises a shuttle service, but I advise against it. Personal experience: I sent a text message and email to the hotel on time; our ferry departed at 5:30 PM. We arrived on the island around 7:00 PM. We weren't met. We got there ourselves. A hotel security guard met us at the hotel and gave us our room keys. It immediately became clear that the light switch in the bathroom was causing lightning and could shock us, and the water heater wasn't working. The security guard said, ”Take this up with the management tomorrow; my concern is safety.” Information about room problems is not passed on to the management. So, we spent the first night without hot water or power in the bathroom. After we contacted them, they gave us a working room mid-way through the second day. They didn't apologize for the missed shuttle service, and they didn't offer the stated compensation for our independent transfer. Moreover, I received a welcome email from the hotel after only one day of my stay. The hotel has adequate staff, and the people are positive and friendly. However, management, quality control, and leadership are seriously flawed. The rooms are overloaded with text reminders, rules, and restrictions, many of which would be confusing to a normal person. Or does the hotel manager think only people with dementia stay at their hotel? Reminders and restrictions are completely unnecessary if guests are greeted promptly and the necessary information is provided electronically in their native language.
