Hôtels 3 étoiles à Cumbrie, Royaume-Uni

We checked in late night, witn a car. The receptionist was very welcoming and helpful. Room is as described. Heating was cranked up which we appreciated, but also had windows we could open. Great doorway location to the rest of the lake district. Very happy with our 1 night stay.

I have grave misgivings about hotels in the busiest parts of the Lake District, especially at holiday times. Obviously they will be relentlessly overcrowded, with harassed and unfriendly staff. I’ve wanted to go back to the Proper Lake District for a while though so took a risk on the King’s Head. It’s easy to find on the ear popping main road up from Grasmere, just beyond the impressive hulk of Steel Fell, close to Thirlemere. Parking anywhere in the Lakes is hideous and expensive. Not here. Relaxed and plenty of room. It’s a long building with a pleasant bar restaurant area and beer garden. I found a rather pleasant residents lounge where a lady called Jo checked me in and made me feel welcome. It does get busy with passing trade but the staff look after their residents. They flogged me decent real ale and Jura whisky (the proper stuff). Breakfast is briskly table served from a menu and is well presented. I didn’t eat otherwise there but the food is popular and well priced. The road outside is busy and a bit of a racetrack, and the occasional fighter jet roars between the mountains on low altitude practice, but the relentless bleating of the sheep opposite soon returns things to normal. I was a little sorry to depart, but the manager said he hoped I would come again. I believe I will, and will even bring my wife.

L'hôtel est relativement isolé, mais l'environnement est surprenant, les chambres sont propres, la pelouse du jardin est très confortable et les enfants s'amusent. Il n'y a pas d'endroit pour manger à proximité, seulement le dîner à l'hôtel. On estime qu'habituellement seuls les locaux s'y rendront. La capacité de service est limitée. Le dîner ne peut être servi qu'à une heure précise, mais les plats sont plus délicats.

La chambre est très propre et le petit déjeuner est envoyé dans la chambre selon le calendrier convenu. Les œufs sont optionnels, j'ai choisi des œufs de riz, et des œufs de riz chaud, très appropriés pour les œufs chinois. Vous avez des bus directs à Windermere et Keswich.

I arrived on a stormy night in the lake district - on entering the hotel I was met with a warm glow from the log fire and a very warm welcome from the receptionist. As the hotel dining room was about to close, a room was sorted and the kitchen kept open for an evening meal - a delicious melt in the mouth steak was a pleasure after a 6 hour drive from the south of england, washed down with a welcome glass of Shiraz. The bed was very comfortable, the room had a large bath and separate shower cubicle and copious hot water. The decor and fittings were in sympathy with the age and history of the hotel, a pleasant change from the blandness of more modern mass market hotels. The staff were very friendly and it was a pleasure to be assisted without having to use automated impersonal systems. I will not hesitate to stay at the hotel again when I am next in the area.

La propriété et l'atmosphère sont magnifiques. La vue du jardin du restaurant est très agréable et magnifique. La taille de la chambre, la taille de la salle de bain et les équipements étaient bons. Nous avons rencontré 1 problème majeur pour être précis qui nous a fait un peu mal. Cet hôtel est très confortable et très confortable. Je comprends qu'il s'agit d'une propriété amicale et je n'ai aucun problème avec elle. Mais nettoyer la chambre avant le prochain check-in est une attente de base. Le petit déjeuner était bon, le service à la clientèle était très gentil et hospitalier.

Excellent, I had a superb stay , the George is unique Bien qu'il ait un aspect sans temps, un magnifique bâtiment historique, il a des caractéristiques modernes, et des aspects, qui le rendent très confortable. L'expérience de l'hôtel la plus belle, j'ai eu depuis l'année, je suis impatient de rester à nouveau, un arrêt parfait pour moi C'est le soir de Noël.

Installations: très bien Santé: propre Environnement: sécurité Service: très bien Recommandez un endroit très bon! Ne manquez pas. J'espère avoir une chance de revenir. La position est très pratique avec un parking. - Bonne expérience.

The Hotel much better then most of Holiday Inn hotel, however breakfast was under the average. 

Very old looking run down needs totally  decorating from top to bottom ….. killed 5 flees in my bed not a clean place . On the plus side the food . evening meal was good breakfast was fab …. Entertainment was good. Bar was busy people dancing throughout the night every one enjoying their self’s
