What a trip! The rooms are MASSIVE. It's essentially a full apartment. Very spacious and comfortable. The beds are extra extra large so perfect for families. For Western travellers, you may find the bed a bit hard. We were perfectly happy with it though. I personally will recommend Holiday Inn at the resort for those with kids. It's right next to the beginner tracks and that hotel hosts all the children activities and kids club. Though I don't know what the room is like. More from a location perspective. Wanda Jin Suites has 2 buildings. Best to get the 1st building as much closer to the beginner tracks and the service centre to rent ski gears. We were in the 2nd building. I will say from a location perspective, it was inconvenient for us as once you have snow boots on, it's a trek to carry your ski gears back and forth. There are lockers to put your ski gears in so we'll utilise that more next time. You do need WeChat though and if you don't have a local number, it gets difficult. If you're from Australia, just lose the 0 and add 18 at the front of your mobile number and that will get you through. But best to just get a local SIM to save you the hassle. But from a food perspective, they're right outside the building and short walk to the hot springs and the water park which is all included in the hotel fees. Including ski pass and going to the snow playground. At the snow playground, there's snowmobiles for kids to ride on amongst a lot of other activities. But that's extra money. Again, need WeChat. The hotel concierge when you check in will add you into their WeChat and you can ask them questions and they'll help you. Very convenient. It's an amazing place to come with kids. Water park is insane there and my son had a blast. The hot spring was also an amazing experience. Though very cold to get in and out of the hot springs at -20C. There are other activities outside the resort which hotel concierge will help you arrange. They can also shuttle you to the nearby village for more authentic food if you don't want to eat inside the resort. Beaware that the pharmacy at the resort does not have any ibuprofen or paracetemol. Strongly advise you get WeChat. You can book pretty much all the activities through their WeChat mini app. Including ski coaches. There are rogue ski coaches coming up to you to get business so beware. We almost got on a shuttle with a rogue coach that were gonna take us elsewhere and weren't even letting adults come (it was for the kids) and a hotel staff came up and essentially stopped them and forced them to give back the deposit. Book your coaches early. They book out quick. Particularly snowboarding. We also booked an igloo making class for our son and he had an amazing time. Though it's all in Mandarin of course. They have half day and full day camps for kids so parents can drop off and chill for the day. The staff here can barely speak English so bring your AI translator with you. We had less of a problem since I can speak Chinese but my husband often got stuck and needed me or even my son to help navigate around. Make sure you go back to the counter after returning your ski gear at the end of your stay to get your deposit back. We had an amazing time and would consider coming back.

Changbai Mountain Landscape International Eco-Exchange Center — where “eco-exchange” really means exchanging knee joints for enlightenment 🐕🦺❄️ This old dog picked this place as a first-timer to Changbaishan because on paper it reads like a dream: ✔️ 5-minute walk to the Changbai Mountain VIP entrance ✔️ Hot springs inside the compound ✔️ “Eco-exchange” — which I later learned refers to exchanging comfort for character development Location? Prime marrow bone. 🦴 Reality, however, is a scenic winter obstacle course. The hotel is thoughtfully scattered across three separate buildings — one for check-in and breakfast, another for hot springs, and because suspense is important in life, the Food Plaza lives in yet another building. In winter. On ice. With wind that slaps. Not exactly age-old-dog friendly. I waddled. I shuffled. I negotiated with my knees. At one point I believe my soul lagged behind and had to catch up. To offset this Arctic triathlon, the staff are available 24/7 on WeChat, responding faster than I can type “why did I choose this hotel?” Efficiency deserves a respectful tail wag. 🐾 Now let’s talk Food Plaza, the hotel’s redemption arc. The food is genuinely scrumptious, warming, and emotionally supportive after being bullied by Changbai winds. Takeaway is allowed — which means you carry it yourself. Eco-exchange again. This dog fetches his own dinner. 🥸 Then there’s the hot spring schedule. Opens at 13:30. When the mountain is closed and the hot spring is closed what exactly is an old dog meant to do? Stare into the snow? Question life decisions? Age visibly? Ah yes — write this review. ✔️ ⚠️ Now, the bone that refuses to go down smoothly. Despite having a relaxed stay, I felt continuously pressed for a 5-star review — on departure day from the first meeting in the lobby to gentle reminders all the way up the bus. At that point, it stopped feeling like hospitality and started feeling like an exam I didn’t sign up for. It made me sad, actually — because it suggests staff performance may be chained to guest reviews like sled dogs pulling corporate KPIs. Trip.com, if you’re listening: no guest should ever be pressured to review. The moment reviews are pushed, ratings stop being honest and start being decorative. This old dog is an independent reviewer. I don’t bark on command. I don’t roll over for stars. And the harder the push, the more my paw hovers over the lowest rating out of pure principle. Still — despite the ice, the walking, the soul-searching — the location alone makes this a smart base for Changbaishan first-timers. C'était ma première visite à Harbin, et bien que j'avais lu de nombreux commentaires qui disent que ce village était beau, je me faisais encore peur du transport. Quand nous arrivions, Coco continuait à nous aider avec tout. Elle a organisé le transport pour nos activités telles que la moto, le cheval et l'alimentation électrique. Comme nous utilisons un eSIM et n'avions pas un numéro de téléphone chinois, Coco a même aidé à enregistrer et à générer le code QR que nous avons besoin pour visiter les sources chaudes au Club Med, nourrir le détergent, skier et conduire l'UTV. The service was spectacular. The check-in ladies room, service, housekeeping, and the breakfast staff all were excellent. As well as the health club staff. The health club was nice to use because there were not many people, but the facilities are clearly older, but they were clean. I only gave four stars for cleanliness because there was a hair in the bathtub which could easily happen to anyone. Loved the mini bar and special Changchun welcome gift touch. Would be nice if bath salts or a bath bomb was provided. I ordered on *******.

Les installations de la chambre sont beaucoup mieux que Kay. Bien qu'il s'agisse d'un hôtel du même temps, les installations devraient être mises à jour et de meilleure qualité. Notre famille de 4 a eu un séjour de 2 nuits merveilleux à la mi-décembre. Nous avons demandé la connexion des chambres via Trip et Xiao Zhang & nous avons contacté directement via WeChat. Ils nous ont non seulement aidé à obtenir des chambres de connexion, ils ont également donné des conseils et aidés à organiser que nos bagages soient envoyés à l'hôtel alors qu'un conducteur privé (cost supplémentaire) nous a choisis de la gare pour commencer notre tour de Changbaishan immédiatement ainsi. C'était la première fois que notre famille essayait de skier et nous avons demandé à notre concierge personnel de préparer un entraîneur privé (cost supplémentaire). Really made a good choice staying here instead of Holiday In Express. As the hotel is just beside the ski resort. No need to wait for any buses just walk to ski resort, ski village and even the hot spring. This hotel is very worth it. As you stay comes with complimentary: 1) Mini Bar in room 2) Hot Spring Access 3) Ski lift access ( 2000rmb deposit) 4) Snow activities 5) Breakfast 6) Shuttle from Changbaishan West Railway Station 7) Water Park At night the whole village really feel like in the alps. One night is too less for us to enjoy everything. Had an amazing sleep. Got bathtub. Room is big and with a wide view of the ski area. Very nice 5 stars.
