Cost wise it was reasonable, and the location is bang in the middle of Plymouth shopping area. Parking is right under the hotel, and check in was quick. Room was very tidy and spacious, and cool enough but no air conditioning., just fan. Staff were all lovely, bar staff, reception and service staff, notably Christopher at breakfast who went out of his way to entertain my little girl. Food wise was OK, but 2 complaints. The breakfast orange juice is not fresh, or it's watered down, not nice. And for evening meal I ordered fish and chips, and it was a SLIVER of fish in batter....which for the cost was ridiculous. The staff were very understanding, but the kitchen should definitely seen a new supplier. Overall, it was a lovely stay and would definitely go back...my gripes are purely for management if they wish to address them for future guests. Recommend.

We stayed in a 1 bed lodge. The property had everything you need and the washing machine/ tumble was a great addition and we were also given a few wash sheets- bonus.It was also fully equipped with the little things that makes the stay more enjoyable/ comfortable such as kitchen roll/ tea towels/ liquid/ coffee/ tea/ milk sachets and shower gel/ shampoo. The heater in the bathroom was also great to offload wet towels from the pool. The house itself was good. The only thing that would have made it a tad better was a little bit more attention to cleanliness detail. However I am certain that had we pointed this out to staff this would have been rectified as they did with a request for change of bedding. On the flip side, if it had been overly spotless I probably wouldn’t have relaxed either with our 2 children. In all, we cannot complain for price we paid. The events put on was a lovely surprise as we didn’t expect this. This ranged from bingo, bouncy castle and a magic show. The different food vans each evening were a lovely touch. We only tried the chicken curry on a Monday evening and to be honest, we thought it lacked on flavour. The peacocks were super amazing wondering around and the three little ducks. Lovely location to go out and explore we went to Bucks Mill ( beautiful) Bute ( beautiful) and Westwood Ho! Also nice for a bit more ambient. Also, if you have children, the milkyway adventure park is a lovely addition and takes about 25 minutes.

We stayed in two King rooms with balconies as a family and overall the hotel has a lot going for it. The location is fantastic — right in the heart of Exeter, perfect for walking everywhere. The hotel itself looks great, especially the sky bar on the top floor. The views are excellent, the drinks are very good, and the service up there was genuinely friendly and attentive. We also grabbed some nibbles in the downstairs restaurant and both the food and service were solid. The rooms were clean, spacious, and the balconies were a nice touch. Everything felt modern and comfortable. The only real downside — and it’s a big one — is the front desk service. For a hotel at this price point (and especially as an IHG property), it really let the whole place down. The staff were slow, not particularly knowledgeable (and I hate to add, not the ”quickest”), and quite short/rude at times. We were told when checking in that we’d get late checkout as IHG members, but when we returned later a different staff member had no idea what we were talking about and seemed confused about how to handle it. She eventually offered only one room until 12pm, which after a 3pm check-in really doesn’t feel like proper late checkout. We travel a lot and the front desk experience here was noticeably below standard. The rest of the hotel (rooms, bar, restaurant, location) is genuinely good, but the poor front-of-house service is what we’ll remember most. Would I stay again? Probably, because of the location and the rooms, but I really hope they sort out the front desk training and attitude.

Great location views from the room were fantastic Only downside is the price of parking at the hotel so had to use a different location for that

The hotel location is very convenient, just 5 min walk to the city centre. There are supermarkets, restaurants and barber shops nearby and make it convenient for short or long stay.

L'hôtel et la zone étaient fantastiques, mais le service à la table de front était insuffisant. Nous avons pris un long week-end et nous sommes enthousiastes de tenter le club de plage, mais notre expérience a été étouffe par le service. Il a été fait de rester à l'abri pendant 5 minutes, alors qu'il a été dit que nous n'avions pas payé (quand nous avions) était inutile et honnêtement embarrassant. Le restaurant était la partie la plus décevante de la résidence. Je suis le service de la soirée était lent, suivi par notre ordre erroné deux fois et aussi chuté. Le petit déjeuner au restaurant était insuffisant par rapport aux hôtels plus chers qui offrent le continent. Lorsque nous avons commandé un petit déjeuner cuit, il a fallu 30-40 minutes pour recevoir quelques œufs et panqueques, bien que le restaurant était assez calme. La chambre, les installations et le spa étaient fantastiques. Beauté et confortables. Le club de plage à l'extérieur était magnifique. Le spa était parfait et les traitements étaient, pour citer mon partenaire, «l'un des meilleurs massages de ma vie». Le service était très bon, mais pas ce que nous attendions d'un hôtel portuaire.

I would say this hotel is very dated and I probably should have stayed in a chain hotel like premier inn at least it has some standards - the wall is very thin so you can hear the noise from corridor and upstairs as the floorboards are really old. The reception doesn’t seem to care when you raised it and said you are the only person that complained.

A simply Devine hotel with such historical charm  The charismatic entrance foyer draws you into this wonderful exquisite reception area We had the upmost pleasure in staying on New Years Eve  & were greeted with a lovely glass of free champagne in letting the New year in  They also had a really good modern band playing the finest of music in one of their opulent rooms  We would grant this very fine hotel a definite 5 Stars experience  Many thanks

Booked a last minute break and have to say what a little gem this hotel is. We were welcomed by the owners Steve & Wendy who the most friendly and down to earth people you would ever wish to meet. Their attention to detail is second to none. Complimentary home baked Bakewell tart, fresh milk if needed and an even honesty bar whereby you are trusted to serve your own drinks and settle upon departure. Never came across this before at any hotel stay, just shows what genuine good people the owners are. The hotel is immaculate, tastefully decorated and only a few moments stroll to the sea front. We had the best nights sleep, mattress was extremely comfortable and bed linen was of high quality. Lovely freshly cooked breakfast made to order with additional fresh continental offerings available. This hotel failed to disappoint we can’t wait to visit again.

Nous avons séjourné pendant une nuit seulement. La chambre était grande et propre. Le lit était confortable et nous avons dormi bien. Le parc de voiture était complètement plein à 15 h 30 ... et le personnel qui nous a vérifié n'aurait pas pu se soucier moins !
