This old dog picked this place as a first-timer to Changbaishan because on paper it reads like a dream:
✔️ 5-minute walk to the Changbai Mountain VIP entrance
✔️ Hot springs inside the compound
✔️ “Eco-exchange” — which I later learned refers to exchanging comfort for character development
Location? Prime marrow bone. 🦴
Reality, however, is a scenic winter obstacle course.
The hotel is thoughtfully scattered across three separate buildings — one for check-in and breakfast, another for hot springs, and because suspense is important in life, the Food Plaza lives in yet another building.
In winter.
On ice.
With wind that slaps.
Not exactly age-old-dog friendly. I waddled. I shuffled. I negotiated with my knees. At one point I believe my soul lagged behind and had to catch up.
To offset this Arctic triathlon, the staff are available 24/7 on WeChat, responding faster than I can type “why did I choose this hotel?” Efficiency deserves a respectful tail wag. 🐾
Now let’s talk Food Plaza, the hotel’s redemption arc.
The food is genuinely scrumptious, warming, and emotionally supportive after being bullied by Changbai winds. Takeaway is allowed — which means you carry it yourself. Eco-exchange again. This dog fetches his own dinner. 🥸
Then there’s the hot spring schedule.

⚠️ Now, the bone that refuses to go down smoothly.
Despite having a relaxed stay, I felt continuously pressed for a 5-star review — on departure day from the first meeting in the lobby to gentle reminders all the way up the bus.
At that point, it stopped feeling like hospitality and started feeling like an exam I didn’t sign up for.
It made me sad, actually — because it suggests staff performance may be chained to guest reviews like sled dogs pulling corporate KPIs.
Trip.com, if you’re listening:
no guest should ever be pressured to review.
The moment reviews are pushed, ratings stop being honest and start being decorative.
This old dog is an independent reviewer.
I don’t bark on command.
I don’t roll over for stars.
And the harder the push, the more my paw hovers over the lowest rating out of pure principle.
Still — despite the ice, the walking, the soul-searching — the location alone makes this a smart base for Changbaishan first-timers.

IInvitéHotel is within a small resort that is newly opened. Amenities are complete and restaurants and other F&B are available within the resort. Only inconvenience is that cars are not allowed into the resort so we have to trek to the gate to call for a ride.

L'hôtel nous offre un service de qualité supérieure, en particulier pour nos enfants, leur service de majordome est également exceptionnel, ce qui nous a permis de passer un voyage sans problème, même en cas de mauvaises conditions météorologiques à cause de la fermeture du parc, ils proposent toujours de nombreuses activités. pour que nous puissions garder nos enfants heureux tout le temps. La source chaude ici offre beaucoup de choix, bon pour les petits et les adultes. Dans l'ensemble, nous avons adoré notre séjour ici et le recommandons vraiment à tous ceux qui pourraient être intéressés à visiter la montagne Changbai. .
L'hôtel Beipo à Weier offre un accès VIP à la montagne Changbai Tianchi, ce qui permet d'économiser beaucoup de temps et d'énergie. Le service de majordome est excellent et très bien pour les enfants. Les deux enfants l'aiment beaucoup. Le paradis des enfants intérieur et extérieur, le joli paradis des animaux de compagnie, la piscine thermale intégrée et l'aire de jeux aquatiques pour enfants occuperont complètement les enfants lorsqu'ils ne pourront pas se rendre sur le site pittoresque.

HheymingsterThe hotel offers free pick up service from the train station, which allowed us to connect with a driver called Ting Ting. The distance from Changbaishan railway station to the hotel is about a 10 min drive away. The hotel is clean, offers hot ginseng tea and the room is extremely spacious. The amenities kit is good too, with body lotion provided. Guests services staff are extremely helpful and kind. However, we spoke mandarin with them so I think the experience will be better if you spoke in Chinese. Breakfast at hotel is also a great spread - mainly noodles, rice, and Chinese dishes that tastes great. Coffee machine provided relatively great espresso (for an automatic machine).
However, the highlight would be Ting Ting; whom we connected via Mercure. We were tourists without a local Chinese mobile number, so she knew and told us it’s extremely difficult for us to get anywhere in Changbaishan (there is only a local T3 ride hailing app, and Didi is not applicable there). She offered to drive us around for our stay (3D2N) instead, and taught us how to book our tickets for Changbaishan National Park. She also recommended and drove us to dining places that she has tried, and they were indeed great shops with tasty food! Ting Ting also reminded us what we needed to prep to go up to Changbaishan and took us to rent the necessary gear (fleece guard protection for knee, fleece shoes etc) as we did not have the right attire for the -10 and up temp in early March. She is extremely helpful and kind. Highly recommend Mercure and Ting Ting!

TTan CK 9320I had a wonderful stay at Changbaishan Hailinyuan Fashion Hotel! The hotel is very affordable, making it a great option for budget travelers without compromising on comfort. What really stood out was the owner’s incredible hospitality. From the moment we arrived, the owner went out of their way to make our stay easy and enjoyable. They provided transport from Changbaishan Station to the hotel and even offered to take us to local attractions at no extra charge, which made exploring the area so much easier. The photos below show the owner fetching us to the attractions, which was such a thoughtful touch!
The hotel is located right in town, so it’s very convenient. There are many food options nearby, as well as a convenience store, which made grabbing snacks or essentials very easy. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the overall environment of the hotel was welcoming and cozy.
The owner is truly a kind and thoughtful person, always ready to help and ensure guests have a smooth and pleasant stay. I felt really looked after throughout our visit.
If you’re looking for a budget-friendly hotel with excellent service, a convenient location, and a personal touch, I highly recommend Changbaishan Hailinyuan Fashion Hotel. The combination of affordability, hospitality, and convenience makes it an outstanding choice for anyone visiting the area.

Le service de l'hôtel est très bon et intime, le chef est très gentil et très gentil (deux grands-mères) et amoureux + très enthousiasmé! Avant de partir, j'ai trouvé l'hôtel pour aider à commander les billets de la zone de paysage de Chang Bai Mountain North Poo. IInvitéHotel service was excellent, as they went above and beyond to help us during our stay. They helped arrange transport and sight seeing activities - the couple who manage the place in particular were super friendly. Its well located near the entry of Changbaishan Scenic Park gate. They are quite close to Tiger Mountain ski resort, which is can cater for skiers from beginners to more advanced. There is a hot spring in the hotel and our package included breakfast and dinner,which was good. It has been renovated in last year or so.

La famille a eu de la chance de choisir de rester dans ce magnifique hôtel.
1. La chambre : très propre et beaucoup de style de chambre pour choisir comme chinois ou japonais ou normal.
2. L' emplacement : est très proche de la ville seulement 5 minutes
Près de la gare de Changbaishan, juste 5 minutes
Près du parc de détergents et de la rivière flottante
3. Service: excellent. Le patron nous prend très soin. Il nous a emmenés de la gare à l'hôtel et retour à la gare pour GRATIS. Il nous aide beaucoup à acheter le billet de montagne, la réservation de voiture, et l'autobus à Xuexiang.
4. Hôtel également Petit déjeuner gratuit avec de la nourriture délicieuse. Le service de cuisine est excellent. Ils sont gentils et sortants. 😍

FFamPlanIf you are traveling during winter, it's a lovely place to stay, it's like a condo rent out of that sort, during the snow season does look like a santa town, a small village with decor surrounded with lights, very christmasy.
Big apartment, we booked 2 bedrooms room type, heat, hot water etc all equipped.
Cleanliness is great the first day, sloppy afterwards, stains on floors from day 2 til the day we left. We stayed for 5 nights.
Service wise still quite good, 阳阳 is very responsive, 5 stars for her.
But it's noisy every morning, there were 3 morning straight I got woken up by the noises at like 6am, other guests or staffs loud chats, banging sounds, furnitures moving around etc.... usually from 6-8 am.
Breakfast is horrible though 😆
Overall, it's still a good option.

IInvitéThe staff were very kind and we were impressed by their sincere attitude toward the guests. We booked the Gyegok trekking through Trip.com, but as foreigners, we had trouble communicating with the trekking company. The manager helped us, and we had a wonderful time that will remain a pleasant memory.
If we have the chance to come to Changbai Mountain again, we would definitely choose this hotel. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-maintained. We are truly grateful for the warm hearts of all the staff.
Also, grilling skewers and enjoying a glass of soju in the hotel parking lot was an unforgettable delight.
