Stayed at the hotel for its close proximity to the Cairnryan Port due to an early ferry departure the following morning. We had a comfortable room fit for our needs, with ample space for the family. There is a car park onsite. We arrived late and left early, so weren't able to use the facilities, but the areas we did see were well presented. They were kindly able to arrange a takeaway breakfast for us, as we were leaving before breakfast was served.

A truly wonderful visit with spacious, comfortable rooms, the best food we have ever eaten in a hotel - both evening meal and enormous breakfast and welcoming, attentive staff. The only minor thing that could be improved would be to have USB plugs in the rooms. We will definitely return for another stay - thank you!

L'hôtel Portpatrick est un bâtiment incroyable, à l'intérieur et à l'extérieur. Pour moi, il ajoute au charme de la place. Les chambres sont propres et ont exactement ce que vous avez besoin pour un séjour confortable. Si j'avais une plainte, c'était la douche; il était pauvre et rarement avait de l'eau chaude. Cela n'a pas affecté mon séjour. Le personnel était ami et utile, le bar et la salle de jeux étaient superbes et le petit déjeuner était très précieux servi dans une salle de repas incroyable. Il reviendra certainement un jour, merci pour un grand séjour ! Phil.

I cannot recommend too highly a stay at the Crown Hotel. We were warmly welcomed by staff, helped take our belongings to our room which had all the facilities one would expect. The bedroom and bathroom were spotless and although not needed by us, a room heater and also a portable room cooling unit available should these be required. There were ample toiletries in the bathroom and the same for the tea/coffee/biscuits tray. The highlight of our stay was that breakfast was included in the price we paid. It was a full Scottish breakfast and everything on the plate was of the highest quality and service was excellent. Once again, if you are looking for somewhere to stay in Portpatrick, this is the place, right on the sea front.

This hotel is desperately in need of a refurbishment. It is incredibly tired and below par even for a low-budget hotel. As a disabled person, I was disgusted by how out of touch they were with code in this day and age, including a serious violation. We had very hard beds, which I couldn't sleep on, so I ended up with no sleep. The showers were over a bath (not very practical for a disabled person, especially with no bath seat), and the water pressure was basically a dribble, so it took forever to wash long hair. All in all, it's a shame the hotel itself is so disappointing, as it is in an ideal location for stopping off when traveling through, and it's situated beside a beautiful lake. The staff were very polite.

From the outside (scaffolding etc) we wondered what it would be like but we were pleasantly surprised.  We had booked a standard room which was clean and tidy with all the bits we needed, kettle, tea/coffee, hairdryer.  The staff were very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble.  Breakfast could be cereal with milk or yogurt, cooked breakfast, toast or croissant, big choice and all fresh and freshly cooked.  We had the cooked breakfast - WOW - lasted us all day.  The little town of Annan, all I can say is, if you don’t visit it, you will miss out on a treat. PS the scaffolding is for all the renovations which will improve the property.  We would love to return one day.

I was greeted as a returning customer but hadn’t been there for 17years  The staff were very friendly and helpful and polite  The service I received was excellent and the food was excellent that I received  The first room I stayed in was a little bit tired but as it’s a single bed room it was more than acceptable  The second night was a different room as I extended my stay and was a superior single and was more in price but I found it to be excellent  A great hotel with great staff and would recommend a stay if you’re passing through Lockerbie or need a hotel base in the area

We had a 2 night break our room was a Queen bed double room and dog friendly as is the hotel.the room was exceptionally clean and warm the bed was extremely comfortable the wardrobes and units gave ample storage and the shower was hot and comfortable to use .there are also tea and coffee making facilities in the room. We ate at the restaurant both nights and breakfast was included also.The quality of all the food was excellent and all staff were very friendly and efficient ,Really enjoyed our stay and would hope to go back in the future

B&B magnifique dans le centre de Dumfries. La chambre (l'annexe) était spacieuse et décorée avec toutes les installations nécessaires. Il était immaculablement propre. Un petit groupe était l'absence de garde dans la douche - essayer de prendre du shampooing du sol est difficile à prendre en milieu de douche. Le petit déjeuner était de très bonne qualité et les œufs pochés étaient superbes.

Couldn't fault the Eskdale, from the minute we came through the front door the staff couldn't do enough for us the receptionist even carried our case up stairs for us.the room was lovely and clean and the bed was sooooo comfy . Cooked Breakfast was delicious too with as much tea and toast as we wanted ....tea yes toast no as we were full up from breakfast !would definitely go back .
