Je viens directement de Bromo. Rester assis dans la voiture pendant environ sept heures était pire que la mort. L'emplacement est effectivement très éloigné, mais pas loin d'Ijen. If you want to stay in this rustic resort you have to be okay with them. I didn't like the insects stuff in the room but the hosts immediately sent their staff to deal with them. Staff are friendly just be patient with them because not all speak English. May was a super host, who gave ALL sorts of ideas on where to go, and how to go, and gives you contacts and numbers and details. Ibnu makes the best dirty latte in Banyuwangi, most probably. The hosts are very nice and go out of the way to make their guests welcome. They even dropped us at a nearby tour site, and also gave us a short walk to the beach nearby. This level of service is almost unbeatable. Staff are always ready and welcome to greet and smile at you. I think the Indonesian and Javanese meals are better than the breakfast menu. Breakfast pancake and American breakfast normal only. They generously dropped us off at Bangsring Underwater which was 3-5 mins away, which MUST NOT BE MISSED for snorkelling beginners! (But first check out if the season is good for snorkelling) If you stay here, be prepared there's not much in the area. And not much air-conditioned cafes or restaurant or shops nearby too. The family room has a breathtaking view of the mountains but because of the attic like structure, is prone to insects and lizards and stuff. It had a resident gecko. The deluxe suite room had a flat ceiling so lesser insects! + huge verandah for drying your clothes + pink bougainvillea. There are corn fields beside the hotel. They send food to your room if you don't want to eat in the restaurant which also has a amazing view. Restaurant has rustic vibes with antique candelabras (+ spiders).

Baobab Safari Resort is located quite far from Surabaya city centre, but it is definitely worth the approximately 1-hour drive from Surabaya Airport. We booked two connecting rooms, both with balconies. We were assigned to Level 4, and the view was absolutely magnificent, overlooking Mount Arjuno and Mount Welirang. Waking up to the mountain scenery was truly refreshing. Cooling weather, fresh air and beautiful scenery. Food Experience The highlight of the meals was the Nasi Rawon. The beef was very tender—soft and melt-in-the-mouth—and the soup was rich and flavourful. The portion size was generous. Other food items were acceptable but nothing particularly outstanding. For breakfast, however, the buffet spread was rather limited, especially in terms of meat and protein options. Room & Amenities The room itself looked decent but slightly dated. That said, the beautiful view more than compensated for it. One important note: do stock up on your own bottled water before arriving. The hotel uses refillable glass bottles, and unfortunately, the wooden covers of the glass containers appeared very mouldy, which was quite off-putting. Activities & Environment There are plenty of activities available. A walk through the Enchanted Forest thats full of pine trees and feeding area for Capybara, Lama, Sheep is possible, though you’ll need to take a buggy from another area. The Safari Zoo is located separately but can be arranged by the hotel. Animals around the hotel can be fed according to scheduled timings. Waterbucks, however, can be fed with carrots 🥕, which were provided by the hotel on the day of check-in. The lobby and dining areas were a standout—beautifully designed and facing the roaming animals while still maintaining a safe boundary within their designated area. Animal Welfare I have always been quite sceptical about zoo animals in Indonesia due to past negative experiences, where animal welfare did not seem well cared for. However, Baobab Safari Resort truly changed my perspective. The environment is clean, the animals appear well fed, and I frequently saw zookeepers actively present in the animal areas, feeding hay and grass to the zebras, waterbucks, buffaloes, and giraffes. It was reassuring and heartening to see such care and commitment. This experience made me believe that proper education and responsible management really do help build a better environment for zoo animals. Overall, it was a meaningful and memorable stay for my family.

C'est ma deuxième fois ici. Le personnel est vraiment gentil et vous serez accueillis chaque fois. J'ai eu un problème avec l'aircondition ne pas être assez froid. Le technicien, le bureau frontal sont tous très patient et attentif à ma demande. La chambre est très spacieuse avec une vue magnifique sur la ville. L'ampleur des équipements et vous répondrez à vos besoins. J'ai eu un bon repos de trois nuits et un séjour merveilleux ici. Je recommanderais certainement cet hôtel.

Cleanliness should be a top priority, and this issue significantly affected my overall comfort. With better maintenance, improved cleanliness, and more flexible check-in options, the overall experience could be much better.

Perfect location. Next to Pakuwon City Mall. Great service by the staff. Breakfast was fantastic. Clean and neat room and hotel. Might come back again next time. 30-45 min to the airport depends on the traffic

La chambre était très spacieuse et bien équipée. Le personnel a fait de son mieux et est sympathique. Le centre de remise en forme était bien équipé, avec des haltères et suffisamment de poids pour quelques soulevés de terre. Cependant, vous pouvez économiser sur le petit-déjeuner. Même s'il y avait beaucoup de choix, nous n'avons pas été impressionnés par le goût. Le Skybar offre une belle vue et la nourriture était bonne.

Séjourner à l'Illira a été une expérience inoubliable. Le personnel était incroyablement gentil et serviable, la chambre était propre et confortable, le petit-déjeuner varié et savoureux.
