Meilleurs Hôtels de Gairloch, Royaume-Uni

J'ai organisé pour un groupe d'amis de notre club une visite de l'Ecosse en voitures anciennes : 16 voitures pour 31 personnes et je précise que je ne suis pas un professionnel du tourisme mais un simple particulier. Certains commentaires me faisaient hésiter dans le choix de cet hôtel mais les hôtels de grande capacité ne sont pas lėgion dans cette région. Aussi le prix (le moins cher des 9 étapes de notre sejour) me faisait redouter de mauvaises surprises...et bien ce fut tout le contraire ; une belle surprise. J'ai hésité entre 4 et 5 pour le classement et j'ai choisis 5 en considérant le classement de l'hôtel (3 étoiles) et le rapport qualité prix. Les communs (salons, bar, salle à manger) sont sans reproche possible, propres et confortables . Le service est attentif et efficace. Check in / Check out rapides. Les chambres (j'avais réservé uniquement des chambres avec vue mer) sont impeccables, la literie excellente, Salles de bains en parfait état et bien équipées. Unanimement mes amis m'ont demandé pourquoi je m'étais montré hésitant..Ils étaient ravis. Seul petit bémol une restauration que je qualifierais de ”collectivité ”, bonne avec de bons produits mais sans recherche particulière...basique. Au surplus une animation a donné l'occasion à certains de finir la soirée en dansant. Breakfast buffet correct . C'est donc au nom de tous les membres de notre groupe que je remercie toute l'équipe du Gairloch pour cette belle étape et que je recommande cette adresse.

My first and last time staying at this hotel. This is an amazing hotel set in a beautiful location, very quiet and tranquil with amazing views. The staff are all very well presented, professional and friendly. Can’t fault any of them. The food, especially the breakfast is outstanding, very well cooked and presented, locally sourced Ingredients where possible. The hotel decor is period for the age of the building, spotlessly clean and plenty of things from the period for you to look at and enjoy. The rooms are of a high standard, the bedding is especially comfortable and one of the best I’ve every slept in. There is a bar which has a large array of local drinks on offer and a wood fire to warm your cockles. I really could go on and on about the positives but it’s time for the only 2 negatives I’ve found…..at breakfast your toast is brought to you 10min before your breakfast food, meaning your eating cold toast with your hot breakfast. And the main negative for me anyway is the fact that dogs are allowed in the hotel. I have a major allergy to dogs which usually causes an asthma attack. Had I have known that the hotel allowed dogs I wouldn’t have booked. It does say this on the website but I didn’t read down that far so partly my fault. The large dog that was there had been in both the bar and lounge so they were both out of bounds to me for the remainder of my stay. (Do people not use kennels anymore): Soley because dogs are allowed in here I wouldn’t recommend it to friends or family as they feel the same as me and don’t want to share a hotel with animals, shame as it’s a lovely hotel and I would have loved to come back with my family for a weekend. I’ll just need to find somewhere locally that only caters for humans and not animals.

Even the booking on the phone was extremely nice. That was the reception when we checked in with three people for one night on April 30th, 2022. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Room 21 has two bedrooms, a large bathroom with a very spacious shower, and a small area with a TV, sofa, and armchair. Everything was sparkling clean and there was plenty of tea and coffee to make yourself. From all rooms and the dining room we had a fantastic view over the sea which is right outside the door. The dinner was very tasty, the waiting time short, the service friendly. I only give a big minus point to the mattress, which really felt every spring. We would definitely stay there again. Schon die Buchung am Telefon war ausgesprochen nett. So war dann auch der Empfang als wir am 30.04.22 mit drei Personen für eine Nacht eingecheckt haben. Alle waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Zimmer 21 verfügte über zwei Schlafzimmer, ein großes Bad mit sehr geräumiger Dusche und einen kleinen Bereich mit Fernseher, Sofa und Sessel. Alles war blitzsauber und es gab reichlich Tee und Kaffee, den man sich selbst zubereiten konnte. Wir hatten sowohl aus unseren Zimmern als auch aus dem Essensraum einen fantastischen Blick über das Meer, das direkt vor der Tür liegt. Das Abendessen war sehr lecker, die Wartezeit kurz, die Bedienung freundlich. Den einzigen dicken Minuspunkt gebe ich der Matratze, die wirklich jede Feder spüren ließ. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wieder dort übernachten.
