Mini-Bar is complimentary with a selection of 2 local beers, juices, and sodas. Nespresso machine with 4 capsules. TWG tea. Bottled water is unlimited. I appreciate the fridge being very cold.
Gerlain Paris branded bathroom amenities, as well as bath salts for the large bath.
Afternoon Tea (2:30 pm - 4:30 pm)
Light snacks with a limited selection of savory and sweet bites, they need to improve on this.
Evening cocktails and canapés (5:30 pm - 7:30 pm)
Excellent food buffet. I like the lechon quesadillas, jalapeño cheese poppers, and siomai. I appreciate the bartender crafting cocktails from a menu of drinks.
I understand the hotel is still brand new, but they need to do multiple inspections before releasing the room to guest. Vanity mirror was dusty from construction.
The Butler service was very attentive, many thanks to Ice (Butler) for making my stay pleasant, he would escort me to the pool, and even breakfast buffet at Fili Hotel bypassing the crowd at the entrance.
Breakfast Buffet is at Fili Hotel which is extensive and one of the best in Cebu. The problem is the crowd, while Nustar Butlers will escort Nustar guests to a table, there’s no dedicated tables for Nustar guests, which confuses the restaurant staff with seating assignments. Alternatively, the breakfast buffet at the executive club lounge is quiet but with limited options, they should have an a la carte menu to expand options like other international luxury hotels.
The security at the lobby entrance is wildly inconvenient and inconsistent, every time you enter you need to prove you’re a guest of Nustar and not a guest of Fili or a casino player. It’s weird that they are sometimes overly strict and many times just ignore people passing by. Guests have a keycard to use elevators what’s the point of the guards that have a list of people’s names and room numbers, if anything that’s a security risk.
The pool service is lacking. Shared between 2 hotels and the upcoming grand summit. The pool area lacks service of a 5-star hotel, towels need to be claimed at a towel hut. My expectation is that there are staff that will setup loungers with towels for guests. And since the pool facility is shared with the muncher large Fili Hotel it can get crowded. Fortunately, Nustar has a private infinity pool which was closed my stay.
Nustar Resort has potential to be Cebu’s most luxurious hotel, they have the hard product with their spacious luxurious rooms, but they need to improve their soft product - the service from the butlers are outstanding and personal, but everyone else seems to be lost. For the asking price of 250-300 usd per night there’s a lot to expect.
Nustar is primed for excellence but falls just short of achieving refined luxury. I’m hoping Nustar partners with Marriott and rebrand under Luxury Collection. Or even Hyatt with Unbound Collection.

CCHIA YUL'environnement est agréable et beau avec une plage privée. La chambre n'est pas grande. L'emplacement est assez éloigné et loin de la ville. Le seul inconvénient est que lors de notre enregistrement, le personnel du comptoir nous a dit que nous pouvions prolonger l'heure de départ en fonction de l'état de la chambre. Cependant, le personnel du comptoir nous a dit le lendemain que nous devions payer un supplément. De plus, l'heure de départ était initialement fixée à 12 heures, mais avant 12 heures, notre carte de chambre n'était pas valide et nous n'avons pas pu entrer. Nous avons été choqués d'être bloqués dehors. Nous avons dû demander au personnel de service de venir nous ouvrir la porte.

IInvitéEmplacement : Relativement proche de l'aéroport, à environ 20 minutes, mais il n'y a pas de restaurants, de salons de beauté ou de centres commerciaux autour de l'hôtel. Les jours de pluie ou lorsque vous vous rendez dans un centre commercial pour acheter des souvenirs, nous vous recommandons d'utiliser une voiture Grab (d'ailleurs, la voiture Grab de l'aéroport à l'hôtel coûte environ 1 500 yens).
Chambre : De type cottage, ce qui est rare sur l'île de Mactan. Même le type basique est assez spacieux et dispose à la fois d'une cabine de douche et d'une baignoire (c'est dommage que la cabine de douche ne s'évacue pas très bien). J'avais une Nespresso (cafetière à capsules) et 4 capsules, et dans le frigo il y avait 2 bouteilles de San Miguel (bière philippine), 2 bouteilles de jus et des mangues séchées. Ceux-ci étaient gratuits. Il y avait des tongs disponibles sous forme de pantoufles, mais si vous n'aimez pas les tongs, nous vous recommandons d'acheter des pantoufles jetables chez Hyakuyen et de les apporter avec vous. Il y avait un porte-serviettes sur le balcon, mais ce n'était pas suffisant pour sécher les maillots de bain mouillés, donc je pense qu'il serait préférable d'apporter un cintre en fil de fer, un cintre carré, une pince et une corde à linge. (Il y a un service de blanchisserie, mais il n'y avait ni machine à laver ni sèche-linge dans l'hôtel.) De petits insectes peuvent entrer, il est donc préférable d'avoir un simple insecticide (les bombes aérosols ne sont pas autorisées dans les bagages à main ou en soute). peut être.
Équipements : Il y a deux piscines, dont une à débordement. Même si elle était un peu étroite, il y avait une plage privée où l'on pouvait voir des poissons nager. Je pense que les chaussures marines sont indispensables car le sable est rugueux et rocheux. La plongée en apnée, les gilets de sauvetage et les kayaks de mer peuvent être loués gratuitement. (Snorkeling une seule fois par jour). Il y avait aussi des activités comme du jet ski et des balades en bateau banane. Le club pour enfants disposait d'une grande aire de jeux intérieure (comme on en voit souvent dans les centres commerciaux) (je ne connais pas grand-chose au programme puisque je ne l'ai pas utilisé). Il y avait aussi des activités gratuites comme l'aquabic et le beach-volley. Un imprimé contenant ces horaires est livré dans votre chambre le matin, mais l'horaire est assez vague (je pense que c'est typique des Philippines qu'il soit lâche). C'était peut-être hors saison, mais je peux accepter que certains restaurants étaient fermés, certains salons de beauté et salles de sport étaient fermés et que le magasin proposait un choix très limité.
Service : je suis heureux que le personnel me salue toujours quand je passe. Ce n'est pas comme s'ils offraient un service particulièrement haut de gamme, mais comme ce n'était pas ce que je recherchais, j'ai été plus que satisfait du prix.

GGordonThis is a hidden gem and we highly recommend this resort!
Pros:
- It is next to a coral reef and they provide free snorkeling equipment in great condition to use! This is the best reason to stay here, all the snorkeling you want for free and without the need to travel!
- Very cozy environment with about 8 rooms only? You will have lunch and dinner with the same groups of people.
- Food is delicious, slightly expensive but reasonable. From my short experience, the specials of the night tend to be nicer than the normal menu items, but they are all good regardless.
- I love the resort arranged tour. We took a whale shark + secret waterfall tour, and the guide, Alex, was great. It was a personal tour (2 of us) and we had to leave at 4am (we were slightly late and left around 405-410am), and when we reached the whale shark place, it was already quite crowded and we got a queue number of 52 - still pretty good. After taking the queue number, there are a bunch of shops to shop around, but we stupidly forgot to bring any cash, and Alex was kind enough to lend us money for breakfast and souvenirs. He even helped us bargain with the street peddlers when they tried to overcharge us. When swimming with the majestic whale sharks, he used his go-pro to help us take photos and videos, so we just need to enjoy ourselves and pose. Personally, I think the whale shark experience is pretty basic, not well organized and too crowded, but Alex made the experience unforgettable with his personal touches and help.
Cons:
- The worst part is getting there. It took us 5.5 hours to get here from Mactan-Cebu Airport using the private transfer when we arrived around 1230pm Saturday. There was jam to get out of the airport, jam in Cebu city and road works all along the road to Granada. When we returned to the airport in Monday morning 4am, the trip took about 3 hours.
- The massage is in a room with a nice sea view, but the massage was very gentle and I prefer something stronger to sooth the body aches (from sitting in the car for over 5 hours). So I guess this is up to personal preferences.
- The snorkeling was great, but it could be a bit intimidating when it's just the 2 of us snorkeling unsupervised in a large open sea. We did not face any danger, but also did not dare to venture too far and for too long as we city folks are worried about snakes and jellyfishes. We do see fishes jumping out of the sea in the distance, and this could be a sign of predators nearby.
- Adults only. We enjoyed ourselves tremendously and would love to bring our kids here in the future and spend more time here. However, with their adults only policy, we won't be able to do that.

MMzcindyongI recently stayed at Bluewater Maribago and had an overall pleasant experience. The resort offers a relaxing atmosphere with strong hospitality standards and several standout features, though there are also areas that could benefit from improvement.
What I Liked
1. Excellent service and hospitality, especially at the Oyster Bar. The staff were attentive, warm, and professional, which truly elevated the dining experience.
2. Newly refurbished modern rooms that feel fresh, clean, and well-designed for comfort.
3. Convenient buggy service around the property, which makes getting around easy and enjoyable.
4. Lifeguards stationed at all pools and swimming areas, providing reassurance and a strong sense of safety for guests.
5. Anuma Spa’s ambience and treatment selection, which offer a relaxing environment with a wide range of spa services to choose from.
Areas for Improvement
1. Breakfast management during peak hours needs significant improvement. Around 8:30 AM, the breakfast area becomes very busy, and food replenishment is slow. For example, while there are three hot steamers dedicated to eggs, bacon — a hot favorite — is served on a small plate that gets wiped out within seconds. Food supply and quality control during peak periods should be better managed to ensure consistency. The bread selection, however, is excellent and deserves recognition.
2. Security procedures may unintentionally compromise guest privacy. Guests are frequently asked to state their room number when leaving the lobby, and again when entering through the guardhouse — first to taxi drivers and then to security officers. This means multiple strangers may overhear room numbers, which raises safety and privacy concerns. A more discreet verification process would enhance guest security.
3. Spa promotions for in-house guests are lacking. While the spa experience is excellent, there are currently no exclusive perks for staying guests. Introducing options such as an early bird discount (e.g., 10:00 AM–3:00 PM) or curated half-day and full-day “head-to-toe recharge” packages would be attractive. The spa pricing is relatively high compared to comparable standard spas outside the hotel, so value-added incentives for in-house guests would make the experience even more appealing.
Overall, Bluewater Maribago offers a comfortable and well-maintained resort experience with strong service standards. With improvements in breakfast management, privacy-focused security procedures, and enhanced spa promotions for in-house guests, the resort could further elevate its guest experience.

FFulgencio Poll'hôtel est très proche des médecins de Cebu, et un diagnostic de haute précision est la seule raison pour laquelle j'aime séjourner dans cet hôtel, pas de commodités particulières, ils ont un ascenseur, ils ne vous donnent qu'une seule carte-clé juste pour économiser de l'électricité car elle sert à alimenter l'ensemble chambre, il y a un bidet dans la chambre la climatisation ne fonctionne pas bien, ne refroidit pas la pièce, ils fournissent un distributeur d'eau à l'extérieur de la chambre pas de bouilloire fournie ni de café, la nourriture le petit déjeuner gratuit est fourni dans une assiette avec quelques sélections, le personnel est arrangeant. la couverture est assez réfléchie et un oreiller doux et ferme.

YYhang MasecampoI would like to commend all the staffs from the hotel’s breakfast buffet area. They were so accommodating and ready to assist without a need to be prompted. Was just a bit disappointed at time of check-in when asked if early check-in was possible. Not because that the room wasn’t ready yet but it’s because of the Receptionist’s (Rhea-wearing eye glasses) approach and responses to the said request. Nevertheless, had a good stay and might be coming back to stay.

BBoris AtamanenkoIt's a mixed bag. The location is excellent, offering a different, good sea every day. For safe swimming, you need to follow the tide schedule. The hotel grounds and plants are very well maintained; they're beautiful and clean. There's a long stretch of beach for strolls. Logistically convenient – there are plenty of cafes, restaurants, shops selling travel essentials, and a market with fresh produce nearby. A major drawback is the large construction site nearby, which can be heard all day, especially in the bungalows nearby. The rooms and bungalows are in fair condition. However, there are some serious downsides: every other day, it was impossible to shower due to low water pressure; when the pressure was low, the water heater wouldn't turn on; and the water had a strong sewer smell. At breakfast, the restaurant won't offer you salt, pepper, or sauces unless you ask. Drinks include juice from concentrate or coffee. Only after a week did we discover they offer tea for breakfast. The breakfast is very basic, and there's no fruit at all, which is surprising given the price of fruit on the island. There was trash on the beach all week, just a little bit, washed up by the sea. It was cleaned up quickly, as it didn't require much effort. But why is the beach cleaned only once a week? The hotel website advertises a shuttle service, but I advise against it. Personal experience: I sent a text message and email to the hotel on time; our ferry departed at 5:30 PM. We arrived on the island around 7:00 PM. We weren't met. We got there ourselves. A hotel security guard met us at the hotel and gave us our room keys. It immediately became clear that the light switch in the bathroom was causing lightning and could shock us, and the water heater wasn't working. The security guard said, ”Take this up with the management tomorrow; my concern is safety.” Information about room problems is not passed on to the management. So, we spent the first night without hot water or power in the bathroom. After we contacted them, they gave us a working room mid-way through the second day. They didn't apologize for the missed shuttle service, and they didn't offer the stated compensation for our independent transfer. Moreover, I received a welcome email from the hotel after only one day of my stay. The hotel has adequate staff, and the people are positive and friendly. However, management, quality control, and leadership are seriously flawed. The rooms are overloaded with text reminders, rules, and restrictions, many of which would be confusing to a normal person. Or does the hotel manager think only people with dementia stay at their hotel? Reminders and restrictions are completely unnecessary if guests are greeted promptly and the necessary information is provided electronically in their native language.
