L'emplacement était idéal. L'endroit semblait petit, mais il y avait trois étages et les fenêtres donnaient sur une cour intérieure. Le seul bémol était que la salle de bain n'avait pas de porte et que la chambre sentait les égouts. Il y avait des chats vraiment adorables.

Staff was extremely helpful and service was prompt. They helped us to carry all our luggages up to the second floor and they were extremely warm while hosting.
We booked a family room and the room was very big and very clean, although I felt that the shower/toilet could be brighter as the lights was a little dim, and hoped that it could be more clean. The outside rooms were great though. Heating worked fine and our trip was kept warm throughout. Loved the bathtub and it was most importantly clean. Overall loved our stay and hope to come back again next time.

Ce séjour a été fantastique ! L'hôtel est idéalement situé, juste à côté du métro, ce qui est très pratique pour faire du shopping et aller au restaurant. La chambre était propre et lumineuse, la literie incroyablement douce et confortable, et l'hygiène irréprochable. La réceptionniste était très aimable et serviable, répondant à toutes mes questions et me surclassant même spontanément. Le petit-déjeuner était copieux et frais, et le rapport qualité-prix excellent. Je choisirai sans hésiter cet hôtel à nouveau !

J'étais très nerveux avant, en lisant les critiques et je m'inquiétais de l'hygiène et de l'insonorisation. Après vérification, j'ai constaté que ces problèmes n'existaient pas. Très propre et calme. Que ce soit une chambre avec vue sur la rue ou sur la rivière, je suis satisfait. Le patron est très sympa 👌🏻, bravo

I stayed at this hotel for one night and had a wonderful experience. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything I needed. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. The check-in and check-out process was smooth and quick. I especially appreciated the peaceful environment and the attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness. Although my stay was short, it was very pleasant and relaxing. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Cet hôtel est vraiment bon, la voiture auto-conduisant à Liangcheng est le bon hôtel, l'hôtel a son propre parking, très ami pour le parking auto-conduisant, la réception a également mis à jour la chambre gratuitement, la nuit entière est très calme, dormir bien, la chambre est aussi grande et très propre, il faut féliciter!

Quand j'ai vu qu'il s'agissait d'un lit double pour deux personnes, j'ai été surclassé dans une chambre twin gratuitement. Le ménage a été très minutieux et les articles jetables ont été remplacés. près de Pingjiang Road et il est facile de prendre un taxi. Pratique, le seul inconvénient est que la route est en construction à proximité, ce qui rend la marche un peu difficile.

IInvitéI booked Hanyuan because it is within walking distance to my folks home. And my grandma used to work at Nanjing Agricultural University, which the hotel is affiliated with. I read others’ reviews and knew it is an old facility. I did not have unrealistic expectations.
We arrived late at night. Taxi driver dropped us off at the side entrance that has numerous stairs to the door. We had lots of luggage. As we got out of the cab, we saw some staff member in the lobby looking out. Instead of coming out to help us, he walked away. My husband, myself and our seven year old all carried/dragged multiple items up the stairs to get into the hotel lobby.
We checked in and decided that we would need to add a bed for the kid. House keeping came quickly to set up the bed but was reluctant to provide pillows for the additional bed. I had to repeatedly ask before they agreed to bring an extra pillow. Don’t understand why there is such resistance to equip the additional bed with pillow- after all, we did pay for the additional bed.
Everything else was pretty good during our first three-day-stay. We then went away to visit families elsewhere for a week before coming back to this hotel.
This time, our car drove onto the ramp at the front entrance. As soon as we entered the building, lobby manager came to offer us help. He helped us deliver luggage to our room. We are very appreciative of his assistance.
We ran into some issues at the front desk this time. They asked for our passports again and took our pictures for a second time. When I mentioned that we were just here a week ago and all information was taken already, we were told that all information has been erased as we checked out. When we checked in/out the first time, we informed front desk that we were making the hotel our base camp and will be coming in and out a few times. It’s strange that they would delete our information and redo everything all over again.
Again we need to add a bed. House keeping brought a roller bed which has a stained mattress pad. I asked them to bring a clean one, they said they could not. They said they didn’t have any clean pads. They said the only option is to remove the pad and put the sheets directly on the mattress. They further suggested that since the sheet is clean, dirty pad doesn’t matter and that every mattress pad under bed sheets has urine stains. His words made my stomach turn but I was too tired to fight so they went ahead put sheets on top of the mattress pad that has a big yellow stain. Again I asked for pillows for the additional bed, they refused at first, upon my insistence, they agreed to bring pillows. They also took out a blanket from the cabinets under television and put it on the bed.
When the seven year old was ready for bed, I opened the blanket and realized it’s cover is dirty. It’s dusty and has multiple stings of hair on it. I called house keeping, a lady quickly bought over a clean duvet cover for the blanket but refused to take away the dirty one. She insisted that we keep the dirty duvet in the closet. I did not understand her rationale but there isn’t anything I can do. So that dirty duvet cover stayed in the closet.
Maybe I should not have come back to this hotel.

Check-in Experience
We arrived early at around 6 AM due to the difficulty of booking train tickets during the holiday season. Although check-in was at 3 PM, the staff kindly accommodated us with an early check-in for an additional fee.
Accommodation
We stayed in two types of rooms during our visit:
Single Room - Spacious and located in a peaceful, quiet area of the property.
RV Room - Situated near the camping area where families and friends gather around a large bonfire for singing, BBQ, and games.
**Ratings**
Staff: 8/10 - Friendly and accommodating throughout our stay.
Shuttle Service: 10/10 - The driver was exceptionally pleasant and always smiling. Since my daughter has asthma and walking long distances is difficult for her, we frequently requested shuttle service between locations. This was especially helpful as ride-share drivers typically drop off at the entrance, which is quite a walk from the rooms and facilities.
Breakfast: 10/10 - Excellent variety of traditional Chinese dishes. They were accommodating when my husband requested takeout.
Cleanliness: 10/10 - Both rooms were clean, including the beds, towels, and bathrooms. As my daughter’s asthma is triggered by dust, I was pleased that the rooms were clean enough that she didn’t experience any sneezing or symptoms. We all slept well for the entire five days.
**Things to Consider**
It’s highly recommended to have your own car, as the property is quite far from the city center.
If you enjoy nature and outdoor activities, this place is ideal. Activities include:
- ATV rides
- Fishing area
- Playground (note: adults are charged rather than children, so it’s more economical for only one adult to enter)
- Small animal area featuring rabbits, ostriches, and llamas (15 RMB entry)
- Train ride (30 RMB)
The coffee shop has a wonderful atmosphere and aesthetic appeal, making it popular for photos. The property itself is spacious and perfect for leisurely walks. There’s also a temple nearby, approximately 20 minutes away by car.
**Challenges We Faced**
My daughter developed a fever and experienced diarrhea during our stay. When I called the front desk for help, the staff member wasn’t very accommodating and suggested my husband go buy medicine. This was difficult for us as foreigners who don’t speak the language well. I felt sad and helpless, especially when we couldn’t get any taxis or cabs to pick us up. We wanted to take her to the hospital, but no cabs were available.
However, the next morning, a staff member spoke with me who was extremely kind and accommodating. They even offered to drive my daughter to the hospital, which I declined because we needed to catch our train and she was feeling better after taking medicine. They drove us to the South Railway Station and thoughtfully gave my daughter bags and drinks. It was a very kind gesture that we truly appreciated.

Envoyez-nous au restaurant pour le petit-déjeuner et au salon de thé pour attendre ! La chambre est très propre et dispose d'installations complètes. La nourriture et les boissons dans la chambre sont gratuites. Il n'y a pas de frais pour le stationnement des clés, ce qui est rare ! (Le stationnement ici est super cher) Pingjiang Road est juste devant la porte, c'est très animé, il y a beaucoup de belles dames à Hanfu ! Ce fut une expérience de séjour très intéressante et je le recommanderais à mes amis de la région !

KKeat SweeThis is our second stay with Hanting hotels during our 2 weeks trip to Beijing-Wuxi-Shanghai from 30-Aug till 13-Sep. In Beijing, we have selected Guanganmennei branch, and I have given a good review.
As for this Nanchansi branch, they are comparably good except for certain services - Front desk attitude. Except for one lady who was very friendly and helpful, the rest were more like ”could-not-be-bothered” attitude when attending to us, especially when we enquired information about the tourism spots. I hope the Management will look at this on-site as providing good front services should be a high priority besides than good facilities.

Location: Perfect. Right opposite Nanchan Temple and night street market. Hence, food is not an issue. Subway is just 100m or less away. Do note that this Subway only has an escalator going up but not down. Can call for DiDi right in front of the hotel.
Room & Cleanliness:
Ours were quite small, including the shower, but couldn't complain with the price we paid. Importantly, they are clean and house kept every day. Enough to have a good rest after a day of travelling. Just one down side - Sama as Beijing Guanganmennei branch, the shower door architecture is not good. Even when the door is closed, water can drip/flow out to the floor. Can refer to photo attached.
Ammenities & Facilities:
A toiletry bag with toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, and cotton swab is provided together with 2 bottles of mineral water with a bag of coffee and tea daily. Room slippers were provided, too. What we like the most were the washers and dryers. There were 2 each, and unlimited liquid detergent and disinfectant in packet were provided at the laundry area. It's a first come, first serve basis. There's a big long rectangular table at the lobby where it is convenient, even for quick, simple dining. There were books that you could read too. They have multiple robot cars to send food delivery to rooms.
By the way, since our first stay with Hanting in Harbin during last Christmas, we realised the room WiFi had been really weak, almost not functioning for international websites. But it worked ok if streaming in WeChat or any local websites.
Breakfast:
Decent but good enough to have a full tummy. Just one downside was no cold or ambient temperature drinking water was provided. We need to let the hot drinking water cool down before consumption.
Surroundings:
There are 2 convenient stores at each side of the hotel. There is a pharmacy shop also.
Overall, we had a good stay.

Front desk receptionists were all super friendly and helpful (they even helped with laundry though stated self service laundry room), the male staff even rushed out of the lobby to help me with my luggage when I was boarding the didi, it was so kind of him! they treated elderly guests with much care too!
Location is safe for female solo travellers and definitely will be back to stay again when I visit Nanjing

MM260128****En sortant de Pékin, la troisième fois, je réserve l'hôtel Lilong Anhui, tout est bon, l'assainissement, les installations, les lits, les toilettes sont possibles, le prix est relativement élevé, la chambre est grande, l'air est bon, le parking est pratique, les achats autour, le repas, le chargement sont tous.
Désavantages: peu de plats pour le petit déjeuner, tous légumes, une pomme de terre, conforte les œufs, fruits, yoghurt, laite, lactosérum et la farine, combinaison de Chine et de l'Ouest.
Il y a aussi un hôtel et autres parkings publics réservés le 15 soir. Le numéro de la carte d'entrée de la sortie peut être immatriculé gratuitement le lendemain, mais je ne savais pas avant. Le trésor a donné une amende de 1 yuan pour le parking de la nuit. Je pensais que le coût était du chargement du pétrole en Chine, J'ai payé, j'ai également déclaré une erreur, parce que je suis sorti depuis longtemps de la station de chargement et j'ai suggéré que je ne suis pas sorti. Au 16 j'ai séjourné dans d'autres hôtels avec un trésor payé pour rappeler que le parking n'était pas payé, que je n'ai pas sorti, que j'ai produit 5 yuan pour le coût, et j'ai demandé à la réception de savoir ce qui s'est passé. Cela signifie que vous avez payé un dollar pour le parking à votre hôtel. Pas beaucoup d'argent, mais j'ai acheté une leçon d'expérience. Je n'ai pas été reçu avant, j'estime que mon téléphone portable ait une fonction de parking.
3, l'hôtel Xiaohui a présenté un chargeur. À l'hôtel, mon véhicule a été insuffisant pour être chargé pour demander si l'hôtel a un chargeur. Aucune réponse n'a été donnée. Il y a un chargeur de pétrole chinois près, et l'introduction de l'hôtel est incompatible.

AAdora WhitneyI stayed at Houju Courtyard Design Hotel (Also known as The Humble) during my trip to Suzhou, and while the place is definitely Instagram-worthy, my overall experience was quite disappointing.
I had high expectations after seeing the gorgeous photos and videos online, the traditional Suzhou-style architecture and the tranquil courtyard vibe looked amazing. But when I arrived, reality didn’t quite live up to the aesthetics.
The location is near Shantang Street, which is great for exploring, but the hotel is about a 5–10 minute walk from the main road. If you have large luggage, this walk can be really inconvenient — especially during rainy season, which was the case for us. We had to drag our suitcases through narrow alleys in the rain just to check in.
Another thing that surprised me was that this isn’t a standalone hotel building. The hotel is on Level 4 of a mixed-use building, with restaurants and other businesses on the lower floors. That means anyone can use the same elevator — not the most private or secure experience, especially if you were expecting a more exclusive boutique hotel feel.
When we entered the room, the bathroom wasn’t properly cleaned — there were hairs around the toilet bowl area, and the bathroom doors felt flimsy. On top of that, the toilet kept making bubbling noises. We had to call staff to fix it, and they explained that it was due to water pressure issues common to all rooms.
That said, I have to give credit where it’s due — the staff were very helpful and attentive, and they responded to issues quickly and politely, which definitely softened the experience a bit.
Final Thoughts:
While Houju Courtyard Design Hotel (The Humble Hotel) looks stunning in photos and has a great location near Suzhou’s attractions, the actual stay didn’t live up to expectations. It’s more about the aesthetic than comfort, and you should be prepared for shared spaces, limited privacy, and some maintenance issues. If visuals are your priority, it’s worth a short stay — but if you’re after a more comfortable, hotel-like experience, this might not be the right fit.

CCyfer3185Stayed at this homestay for 3 nights in July which is peak season for summer domestic travel in China. The rooms are comfortable and had all the amenities you’d expect of a 4 star hotel - comfortable beds, lounging area, balcony, TV, good toiletries, hair dryer. Other positives were very friendly service staff, hearty breakfast from the cafe with is on the same premise. There’s also local restaurants nearby to dine at which are not bad, just 5-10 mins walk down the road. I also enjoyed waking up to run across the bridge which has a great sunrise view. A lot of tourists visit the cafe for the sunset views. The hotel staff can do room service and bring food ordered from the cafe to your room if requested.
Note though that location wise it is not as close to other cafes and stuff. You’ll need to travel a fair bit if you want to venture and do other things. I wanted a peaceful retreat with a good view but nearer to mainland (compared to the main 西山岛） so this worked for me.
I stayed in 3 different rooms (Rm 1,4,5) for my 3 nights as I had asked for a room with a view but was initially assigned one that was completely blocked by trees. In trying to accommodate my request I ended up having different rooms (to no fault of the staff and property) each night. There are 8 ‘normal rooms’ and one suite room that is round and more suited for honeymoon/romantic occasions. Rooms 3,4,5,6 are the ones with the better view. Room 1 (my first room) has a completely blocked view which is a waste staying by the lake. Rooms 4 and 5 have the best view. Note also that rm 1 and 4 have a skylight that cannot be blocked so by 5 am your room is gonna be bright although they do give you eye shades to help.
There is also no laundry facilities on site.
Only additional feedback to the property would be that they could consider a discount for guests to dine at the cafe, that could encourage guests to have more meals there.
Overall I enjoyed my stay and would recommend this for anyone looking for an escape for the buzz and want a tranquil place to rest!
