IInvitéOur stay at the Econo Lodge in Socorro, New Mexico so far exceeded our expectations that I was compelled to share our experience with others. Located on the main strip, and across the street from a Walmart, it is a slightly rundown area. But the motel is taken care of like it's situated in an oasis. The room offers just what is needed for a restful stay. The bed feels newish and is extremely comfortable. The air-conditioning is user-controlled, so the temperature was cool for us after a long day of driving in high-90s weather. There is a desk to work or write on; a refrigerator and freezer, which we used to store dinner leftovers; a microwave; and a single coffee maker with regular and decaffeinated coffee pods, same for tea, and even hot chocolate. The room has a table and chairs is comfortable to play games, eat dinner, or share a morning coffee for two. The room is extremely clean. And the stay was extremely quiet. The latter two points amazed us, because the price point of the hotel is very economical, and as soon as you open the front door, you hear noise from the main strip, businesses on all sides, and residents talking loudly. It's a well-made hotel, but it is a little older. So, for example, I was challenged in taking a bath since the plug no longer stays shut. The WiFi buffers from time-to-time, when using your computer. And the television (DirectTV) didn't work - it was offline when we turned it on right before bed. The front desk agent was happy to send someone to the room to reset it. It was our decision to forgo it, because we were having a lovely quiet evening and didn't really need to watch TV. If we'd arrived a little early (and next time we stay here) we'll walk to the courtyard and sit on one of the beautifully appointed wrought iron patio loveseats, around a fountain and flowers, and enjoy some reading time. And don't miss the complimentary breakfast. The attendant who has a lovely, welcoming personality makes you eggs, bacon, sausage; there's individual bread wrapped in plastic wrap (so, like the cleanliness of the room, it is made to ensure your safety). There is granola and two other healthy cereal options, waffles, bagels and cream cheese, hard-boiled eggs, fresh coffee with liquid creamers, etc. It's tasty, convenient, and satisfying, and is included in the low price of the room. We can't recommend a motel more. We've stayed in so many, some as costly as $300 a night, and not had a better overall experience.
IInvitéFabulous experience everything to rave about and nothing to complain. Allowed to check in early, all my requests were accommodated. High floor, pool view, near the office.
Room had coffeemaker, refrigerator and microwave, all in good condition. Room was clean and had flooring instead of carpet. Didn't use the pool, but it was sparkling and nice to look at. Thought the TV wasn't working but one call to the front desk and they walked me through how to navigate it. Front door was heavy and had sturdy locks with dead bolt. Breakfast was great. Only saw the unhoused near property once but not actually on it. When leaving I needed ice hadn't noticed ice machine went to the office to inquire. They said no working ice machine on property , but took huge ice bag of ice out of their freezer and gave me enough to fill my ice chest. Above and beyond! Do not hesitate to ask front desk for anything you need.I am confident they will make every attempt to accommodate. My son attends NMSU and I make several trips to Las Cruces every year. Strayed from my old hotel because they changed ownership and doubled their prices, (lucky me!) Because i've now found my new favorite hotel. I plan to return in both November.abd December i won't have to waste time shopping hotels.Thank you Days Inn and your wonderful front desk gals! Wish
I would have gotten thier names, they are doing a wonderful job. Maids seemed to be doing what they're supposed to do and the young man I saw cleaning the pool was working hard every time I saw him. I look forward to seeing all of you again soon. Below are pictures of my actual room. I tried to be nosy when Passing by other rooms that maids were cleaning. They all looked fresh and well taken care of.
CCLGH TravelersGreat Staff, Clean Room, Nearby Walmart and Restaurants, & Moderate Breakfast. Stay there whenever traveling past on US 40. Any time a problem occurred the staff was very prompt in fixing what ever the problem was. Room was quiet with no passing train noises that used to be a problem in Grant's Hotel facilities. Make sure you take the first exit for Grants if coming from the east on Hwy 40. Otherwise take the third exit if traveling from the West. If you miss it traveling East there is no turn around for many miles. There is one dirt path just a little past the exit if you missed it but comes up quickly and having to turn left from the left lane on the freeway can be a bit exciting with fast moving eastbound traffic.
The TV is Direct TV and comes in very clear. Beds are very comfortable and varying assortment of sizes of pillows filled with shredded foam. AC / Heater works very efficiently and comfortable. Will continue to stay there when passing through on business or pleasure.

After an extremely long family day at the Grand Canyon, we arrived at the hotel very late and completely exhausted. From the moment we walked in, the experience turned around thanks to the amazing staff.
I especially want to recognize Mona, who was absolutely incredible. She immediately made my family feel welcome and taken care of, even though it was late and we were clearly worn out from the day. Mona was kind, patient, and genuinely helpful, making sure we had everything we needed to get settled quickly and comfortably.
The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and exactly what we needed after such a long day of travel and exploring. But it was Mona’s level of service that really stood out. People like her make a huge difference and are the reason we would absolutely stay here again.
Thank you again, Mona, for taking such great care of my family—it meant a lot after such a long day!
IInvitéOverall this hotel is good if you just need a bed and a warm shower. The staff were friendly and very helpful! This is a no frills stay but gives you the necessities and a safe spot within the city. The hotel is gated to keep unwanted visitors out and our rental car was safe in the lot. The beds aren’t the nicest, very stiff, and the pillows were very flat- but for the price per night it was fine. We didn’t spend any time in the room except to shower and sleep- which this hotel was perfect for lol. Our room had a smoke smell to it, but we were fine dealing with it. Notified the front deals and they made sure to make a note of it so we weren’t charged smoking fee. Pros: cheap, nice helpful staff, hot shower, good water pressure, gated lot, decently safer area than further into Albuquerque.. Cons: hard bed, flat pillows, thin towels, landlord special upkeep lol.
SSy323Hotel is not new but maintained well, very clean. Room quite big with refrigerator and microwave. Laundry room is on first floor, very convenient. Staffs are very nice and helpful. I would recommend !
