This was genuinely a wonderful and most special place. The Rocksalt Rooms are in a separate building to the Restaurant - but you check in at the latter and walk you over. Note all the streets here are cobbled, which can be slippery when wet. They are a real BoltHole as they are described, and there are only four total. 2 on 1st floor, 2 on 2nd floor, with one per floor harbour facing. I'd definitely suggest that the upgrade is worth it. The rooms are compact but exceptionally well presented. I've odd little niggles, theres no bedside of any kind - floating shelf would work, where do you put your mobile? And the metal bed frame is ornate and was loose on the footboard. The biggest challenge is where to put things. There are a few hangers on the back of the door and a small set of hooks, but not a drawer or proper place at all. I get space is a real premium here - bedside with 2 drawers all you need! The wet room is compact as everyone says. You won't keep the floor area outside the shower dry, it's not possible. The sink is a corner one with no space to place things but there is shelf in the bathroom for all your luxuries. The body wash / conditioner / hand soap / hand moisturiser are great quality. Noise - it's by the Harbour so they start early, but for us it was part of the charm of the location, the fresh fish smell was totally incredible. Breakfast is not to be missed, across in the restaurant with the best view, it's harbour side. Loved the granola, yoghurt, compote starter. I had English Breakfast as I was hungry, it was great quality but disappoining - it was more style over substance. The bacon is cooked to crispy, not my style at all but great quality. He had the Salmon & Eggs and it won hands down. Local, fresh, decent portion, on wonderful Sourdough. Luckily I was saved a bite. A point or two more - the bedside light fused the circuit and the room was plunged into darkness. Looked for fuse box, could not find. Ended up in Restsurant. They had to get keys to a location they used to own but don't now (ground floor of the Rooms building). This took a while as the keys had to be obtained. I get how this used to work, but not now - the fuse box needs moving. The if we cant fix option was check out and refund - erm no!! There is the most incredible Team member behind the Bar/ Restaurant from Bulgaria whose name I have really tsckily forgotten. For which I apologise. She is truly wonderful and made the visit for me, id return solely to see her again!!! Overall we loved Rocksalt Rooms and would return, to have dinner in the restaurant too! The hotel in general is okay. The service in the restaurant at breakfast time was very slow. We had wait quite some time for someone to come and take details of our room number down. Tables were left with dirty dishes on for up an hour before being cleared away. The replenishment of food and drinks were very slow to. The choice of breakfast selection was good. The food and service in the restaurant in the evening was better our server was very polite and helpful. Her name was Breeze.

I really had a pleasant stay. Everything about the hotel was relaxing and although I didn’t sleep well (due to being in a different bed to my own) there was nothing I could complain about. Staff were great, breakfast was ok (selection of cooked breakfast, pastries, toast,cereals & fruit) and you’re greeted with that famous cookie! :)

Nous avons séjourné ici 3 nuits en août 2025 et c'était charmant. Les couloirs peuvent être un peu déroutants, alors faites attention aux numéros de chambre pour ne pas vous retrouver dans un couloir inconnu. La chambre était propre et assez spacieuse pour 2 personnes, et d'une propreté impeccable. Ma chambre offrait une belle vue sur la cour et une vue partielle sur la mer. Le dernier jour, quelques clients chantaient et jouaient du piano en bas, c'était très agréable à regarder. Il n'y a qu'un seul ascenseur dans l'hôtel et le trajet jusqu'à son étage peut être très long, ce qui peut être un peu agaçant. Nous avons également demandé le nettoyage de nos chambres pendant 2 jours, et nous avons constaté que les draps n'avaient pas été changés (j'ai renversé un peu de café sur un côté et la tache est restée pendant les 3 nuits). Les serviettes n'avaient pas été changées non plus, nous avons donc dû appeler la réception pour en obtenir de nouvelles. Il y a un Costa au rez-de-chaussée, dans le hall, ce qui est super – dommage qu'on ne puisse pas commander ! Il semblerait que le personnel de l'hôtel fasse aussi office de barista chez Costa, car nous avons attendu debout pendant 30 à 40 minutes avant d'être servis. Hormis ce petit incident, notre séjour a été excellent. L'emplacement de l'hôtel est idéal : juste en face de la mer et à environ 10 minutes à pied du rivage.

Arrived quite late but check in was fast. Gentleman at the desk was lovely, sorted out my parking for me and made sure I had everything I needed. The room itself was decent. Was a lovely size and the bathroom was spacious and clean. The only issue i had was unfortunately being placed next door to inconsiderate guests who were borderline antisocial right into the very early hours. Had this not been the case I would have slept very well. I’ll definitely be looking to book and stay again in the near future.

My wife and I stayed for three nights to celebrate our anniversary. Our stay was exceptional and especially all the staff who couldn't do enough for us and with a smile and good humour. The service was spot on as was the food in the restaurant, we ate there on all three nights and enjoyed top cuisine, wines and beers. A special touch was the 'Happy Anniversary' slate with a couple of coconut ice sweets! The breakfasts were beautifully presented and cooked to perfection, although we found the bacon just slightly tough but totally edible. Superb poached eggs! As a comment fresh fish would have been a nice addition at breakfast although smoked salmon was available. The bed was very comfortable and the room spotless and with most of the facilities one would expect. It would have been helpful to have a non-slip mat for the bath as well as a grab handle for safety. Also soap dispensers next the shower would have been helpful. As the summer is extremely hot (2026) air conditioning was very welcome! The spa facilities were lovely too!

Perfect sized room, lovely set up, the hotel itself is huge and so well presented. Gorgeous swimming pool. Lots of places to sit down and eat if you would like too. There is a gym and a spa also (we didn't use these but we know they are there) there are phones in the rooms so you can order room service if you wish. The staff knocked on our door on the second evening and asked if we would like any refills on teabags coffee or sugar or any fresh towels. So well mannered and polite. Just an over all lovely place to go and its literally beside Brands Hatch where we needed to be. Cannot fault this place..

Nous avons réservé cet hôtel pour la localisation et le spa. L'hôtel était magnifique, mais le spa était sale et n'avait pas de spa. L'expérience de spa décevante pour un hôtel 4* et se sentent comme cet hôtel a manqué de publicité sur les installations. Le chauffeur du spa était descendu avant 18 heures le jour de Valentine. Au check-in, on nous a dit que vous obtiendrez des serviettes et des robes au spa et la dernière entrée au spa était 8 h 30. Lorsque nous sommes arrivés à la réception de la salle de bains, nous n'avons reçu qu'un serviette et nous avons dit que les robes étaient uniquement pour les invités sur un paquet de spa, contrairement à ce qu'on nous a dit lors de l'enregistrement à l'hôtel. La piscine et les chambres changeantes étaient très sales. La zone où le jacuzzi était habituellement embarqué et semblait être depuis longtemps. La piscine était froide et sale.

The hotel is a bit dated but for the price we paid, it was good value. In terms of location, it was great for us as we were guests at a wedding at Leeds Castle and this hotel was literally around the corner. Staff were friendly and helpful. We did not use the leisure centre, but was told by family that it was really nice, especially the swimming pool. Regarding the room, as soon as you walk in you can smell the drains in the bathroom which is by the door but it's not that bad that you can smell it in the room. We had a family room which was large and had a king and two singles. The room was ok regarding cleanliness, some missed areas and dead insects which may have flown in through the big windows. Breakfast was nice with a decent selection of food and good choice of drinks which was needed after a hot weekend. Overall we are pleased with our stay and would recommend it.

This is a lovely hotel with extremely spacious rooms and en suites. The Orangerie dining room has a lovely outlook onto the peaceful grounds. Although we didn't have an evening meal there, we did enjoy the breakfast. The staff were extremely accommodating with our delightful little son/grandson of ten months and deserve praise for their hospitality. We were there for a wedding at the nearby Beacon Hotel (four minute drive or 20 minite walk with a pram) so it was incredibly convenient. As its a spa hotel, I felt obliged (!) to have a wonderful massage which although £110 was well worth it! A 20 minute walk takes you to the charming Pantiles area of Tonbridge Wells which had lots of eateries and was very unusual - quite unexpected. Everything about the hotel was great value. It could do with slightly updating in decor but I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
