Disappointed with the pool , dirty, no cups available for water, locks broken on doors . Floor slimmy.
Room ok but dusty at the bottom of the tea station, fan not working in bathroom,
Breakfast was terrible, orange juice was really watery and tasteless , plates too hot and no serviettes provided to hold , cereals were ok , no pastries very poor selection for the price , bread was cheap and soggy and when toasted burnt...yuk ! Too much pepper on the tomatoes , baked beans cheap and nasty , sausages were nice, bacon horrible and cooked in clumps so some were under cooked and some extremely crispy and salty.
For the price of £17 a head , I think the breakfast was 1/5. lady staff member was very nice, polite and helpful 5/5.
Sorry to say but we won't be back 😞
Great hotel .large well equipped rooms . A bath in shower. Had 2 fans.ironn hairdryer and a fridge. 2 double beds in room. Plenty of tea and coffees. Large open reception area and reasonably priced restaurant. Great pool . jacuzzi.steam room and sauna with free towels.hotel was clean and tidy . Staff were friendly
Fantastic stay in the newly and tastefully decorated Clifton Hotel. We received a very warm welcome from friendly and helpful staff, and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is in a great location opposite the beach with lovely walks along The Leas and also boasts a Marco Pierre White restaurant on site which has made for a definite return visit. A delicious breakfast was included in our stay with a huge choice of cooked or continental dishes and the staff were very attentive and friendly. Will be returning very soon.
In general the hotel is very clean beautiful location. But as a light sleeper, I struggled as you can often hearing the banging doors. And the night I was there, I could hear a constant alarm noise throughout the night, which felt somebody forget their alarm clock somewhere. Had a really bad night!
My partner and I. Had a fantastic stay at this beautiful hotel. The room was brilliant and clean and everything you needed in the room for a nice relaxing stay.the dining room was also nicely laid out.the food was also very good. Wasn't happy with my pudding. Apple crumble and fruits. Ice cream. I wouldn't call it a crumble. But this wouldn't put me off staying again. Great intertainment as well.love it.staff so friendly.

Très bien
XXRMThis was genuinely a wonderful and most special place.
The Rocksalt Rooms are in a separate building to the Restaurant - but you check in at the latter and walk you over. Note all the streets here are cobbled, which can be slippery when wet.
They are a real BoltHole as they are described, and there are only four total. 2 on 1st floor, 2 on 2nd floor, with one per floor harbour facing. I'd definitely suggest that the upgrade is worth it.
The rooms are compact but exceptionally well presented. I've odd little niggles, theres no bedside of any kind - floating shelf would work, where do you put your mobile? And the metal bed frame is ornate and was loose on the footboard.
The biggest challenge is where to put things. There are a few hangers on the back of the door and a small set of hooks, but not a drawer or proper place at all. I get space is a real premium here - bedside with 2 drawers all you need!
The wet room is compact as everyone says. You won't keep the floor area outside the shower dry, it's not possible. The sink is a corner one with no space to place things but there is shelf in the bathroom for all your luxuries. The body wash / conditioner / hand soap / hand moisturiser are great quality.
Noise - it's by the Harbour so they start early, but for us it was part of the charm of the location, the fresh fish smell was totally incredible.
Breakfast is not to be missed, across in the restaurant with the best view, it's harbour side. Loved the granola, yoghurt, compote starter. I had English Breakfast as I was hungry, it was great quality but disappoining - it was more style over substance. The bacon is cooked to crispy, not my style at all but great quality. He had the Salmon & Eggs and it won hands down. Local, fresh, decent portion, on wonderful Sourdough. Luckily I was saved a bite.
A point or two more - the bedside light fused the circuit and the room was plunged into darkness. Looked for fuse box, could not find. Ended up in Restsurant. They had to get keys to a location they used to own but don't now (ground floor of the Rooms building). This took a while as the keys had to be obtained. I get how this used to work, but not now - the fuse box needs moving. The if we cant fix option was check out and refund - erm no!!
There is the most incredible Team member behind the Bar/ Restaurant from Bulgaria whose name I have really tsckily forgotten. For which I apologise.
She is truly wonderful and made the visit for me, id return solely to see her again!!!
Overall we loved Rocksalt Rooms and would return, to have dinner in the restaurant too!
Thumbs up from us, thang you so kindly 💕

IInvitéWe were staying here for 2 nights because of its proximity to Brands Hatch circuit. The room was very clean but very cold on arrival. However, luckily, we discovered a heater in the wardrobe. The dining experience was not good….the menu is very sparse and the service was very poor. They only had one very sweet rose’ wine available and we had to go to the bar to buy it as we couldn’t locate anyone to serve us. On Friday evening, they seemed to only have one waitress on duty and the hotel was full. When the bill arrived, after perusing it, we discovered that they had added a service charge to it which we did not pay. Whilst checking the bill later, we discovered that they had added an extra glass of wine to it, which we didn’t have. This is not a cheap hotel but the restaurant/service does not match their aspirations. We only stay here because of its location and would willingly stay elsewhere if there was a hotel available.

AAllanChecking in at reception was quick & easy. The room was spacious with a large king-size bed which was comfy and the room was toasty. Good value, would recommend and stay again.

IInvitéA very good hotel. The bedroom was excellent with a very traditional decor. The bed was comfortable and the facilities were as expected.
The bar and restaurant was again very traditional with oak beams, real stone slab floors and comfortable seating and nice tables. The bar provided a very good range of beers, larger wines, cocktails and spirits. The bar service was excellent and prices were reasonable. The restaurant service was friendly and excellent. The menu range was also very good and prices again were very reasonable. Breakfast was included and the choices and service good. Car parking was more than adequate and free.
The one disappointment was that there was no bar food available at any time during the afternoon.
I would use this hotel again.
