Relais del Lago is a charming, family-run country hotel with gorgeous views over the Tuscan countryside. It’s only a short drive from Lucca but feels a world away from the tourist hustle and bustle. (It’s also only 40 minutes from Pisa airport.) The swimming pool is as enticing as it appears in the photos and the grounds are full of birdlife. We stayed in the spa suite which has its own sauna and jacuzzi, and a terrace overlooking the pool. We had a late flight so the owners let us use another room for a very reasonable day rate. There’s a very good Japanese/Italian restaurant on site. We loved our stay and will definitely be back.

Proche des 2 gares du funiculaire et des restaurants, l’hôtel est impeccable, le service parfait et l’accueil chaleureux. Réponds aux diverses questions comme les trains plus pratique et moins cher à prendre pour visiter… Seul regret, pas eu le temps de profiter de la piscine qui n’est pas sur le site même de l’hôtel mais adjacent d’après ce que j’ai compris.

Le problème est le mot ”Palace” qui, semble-il, ne revêt pas le même sens pour la direction et ses clients. Certes le batiment présent un petit intérêt architectural ... notre chambre, la aussi upgradé, avait un volume impressionnant, trop on le verra plus tard, un plafond peint et un salle de bains de bonne taille (sans douche ni wc séparés) ... le hic est que au mois d'Aout il fait chaud et que dans cette grande chambre mal climatisée nous n'avons jamais vraiment eu moins de 27° ... c'est chaud pour dormir ! Après avis à la réception nous nous sommes retrouvés avec des ventilateurs nous rappelant le bon temps de l'aviation à hélice ... côté ménage, après midi c'est mort ... pas de service du soir ... pour la restauration ben c'est juste pas bon, le pire étant je le petit déjeuner ... 3 jours de tortures ... côté piscine aucune à eau à température ambiante, juste des piscines d'eau chaude ou très chaude. Pas de jardin ou de grande terrasse ou flâner, un bar sans clim ou il n' a personne vu la chaleur ... en résumé cela n'a aucun intérêt ! PS : la pizzeria face à l'hôtel tient la route ... et attention aux chambres en mezzanine dont l'unique fenêtre donne en fait sur le couloir de l'hôtel ...

The swimming pool smelled salty like too much urine from the many children playing in the water. The room was in an adjoining section across the street on the second floor or first floor above the street, as such being handicapped or elderly the isolation can be an issue in an emergency. The balcony over the street life was enjoyable, with nice ambiance without being loud, if you close the balcony doors there is no sound. What really ruined our stay were the male waiters. One cut in between us without excusing himself while we were in line for dinner, another rudely belittled my Mother who although on the pre paid meal plan wanted better treatment paying for the full menu if we could be seated by a window and order seafood which was not on the preplanned all you can eat heaping dishes for tourists. The hotel restaurant has a two tier service, one prepaid with lots of filler like pasta, and another for paying customers with specialized dishes. Being dissapointed the next day we had three courses with seafood at a nearby restaurant, La Cascina, for just about 100 Euros.

nous venons de passer une nuit dans cet hotel et nous sommes très satisfaits de l'accueil et des prestations il y a un très grand parking gratuit , ce qui n'est pas à négliger la chambre agréable et un bon petit déjeuner peut etre un choix un peu restreint pour le diner mais quand même satisfaisant nous y reviendrons avec plaisir
