View from the hotel is really nice as you see the alps covered in snow during winter. Location is great too, it is just 5mins from echigo yuzawa station. However, i wish that their room heater can be stronger, other than that, it is a perfect stay for that budget.

Tabataya is a 100+ years family run rest house for skiing/snowboarding at myoko suginohara! The host only speaks Japanese but they are very warm and helpful nonetheless. Ski passes can be bought from them at a discount. I brought my own snowboard so I dont know about rentals. We used yamato transport to courier the boards to and fro the airport and tabataya. The host helped us with arranging the return courier to airport 😊. Although it was slightly pricey but there was value for what we paid. Meals are available at a fixed price of about 3500yen and the chef decides the menu! Although the bathrooms are shared, they are very very clean. Lastly, it is worth noting that the nearby Asakusa onsen ski resort will have more food options and night skiing compared to suginohara. It's my first time experiencing Japow and im glad Myoko is part of this experience 😊 (one of the longest and widest beginner runs)

Je suis venu ici pendant l'été pour Fuji Rock. Tout est honnête, la chambre est propre et les lits étaient confortables, aircondition. Ne vous attendez pas beaucoup de la chambre, car il n'y a qu'un seul socket de puissance dans la chambre, donc nous avons dû partager. C'est vraiment juste pour dormir. La douche est une salle de bain ouverte commune au Japon et une situation de toilette partagée, donc prenez garde à l'esprit pour les voyageurs qui ne sont pas confortables pour ce genre de choses. Les serviettes sont fournies bien qu'elles soient très petites et fines. Il y a une grande zone libre pour parking près de la place, donc c'est bon. Je pense qu'il serait super pour l'hiver, comme c'est juste près de la gondole, mais nous n'avons pas connu ça.

魚沼のお米と源泉掛け流しで選びました。 とにかくお湯が良かったです露天で涼みながら入る温泉は格別です。お肌ももちっとなってスベスベで嬉しくなりました。 建物は古いですが内装は清潔ですしオシャレな家具でまとめてて私は好きです。程よい距離間のサービスも気に入ってます。夕食のお米は期待通りで美味しかったです。ただ定食が肉と魚が揚げ物で魚のカキフライ定食にしましたが私にはヘビーでした。でも副菜は4つ付いてどれも美味しかったです！単品に魅力的なオカズがありご飯味噌汁副菜のセットがあれば単品で自分の好みのお夕飯が組めたな〜と思いました。 稲刈り後の田んぼと秋色の山々が見晴らせる素敵なお宿でした。屋根にサギが一休みしていました。

This place is just 5 minutes away from ishiuchi maruyama ski gondola. Great value place to stay which is easily bookable. Owner provided transfer to and from echigo yuzawa station. Very friendly and even helped to carry the heavy luggage up the car and to our room. No lift access which is very common in smaller places like these. Two private bathhouse available for sharing. Rental price is great and he took great effort in ensuring fit. Also discounted gondola prices available. Breakfast was delicious which was included too. Overall owner and his wife are very warm to all the customers. Would stay here again!

Il est temps de rentrer dans la chambre, mais personne ne m'a demandé de passer. Je suis vraiment en train de m'appeler au service client pour lui demander de m'aider. Le patron a oublié le temps. Je suis heureux de rentrer dans la chambre, mais j'ai aussi attendu près d'une demi-heure et le petit-déjeuner est très bon.

The house is a traditional Japanese building and looks rather like a museum than a hotel. Some facilities are run down and repairs are overdue. However the owner and his wife are very friendly and helpful, they even drove us to the ferry terminal, although we didn't ask for.

I really enjoyed my stay! The host was super friendly and made the whole experience even better. The place is about a 15-minute drive from the city center, so it’s not right in the middle of things, but the amazing view totally makes up for it. It’s such a nice spot to chill and take in the scenery. Plus, the WiFi was really fast, which was a big win for me. Would definitely stay here again!

I really don't recommend this hotel. It is badly in need of investment. Everything smells musty and damp. The corridor leading to our room felt like a prison. The beds were very uncomfortable, far too soft, mattresses worn out. The spa baths were too hot, water dripping from the ceiling everywhere. Didn't eat anything here and glad we didn't.
