This hotel is located at a very convenient location near Echigo-Yuzawa JR train station. It is also a stone's throw away from Family Mart convenience store where I get my breakfast and coffee every morning. During ski season, the area around the train station gets booked up fast due to the convenient links to the various ski resorts around the locality. The owner of the hotel was very friendly and helpful. He was showed kindness and was concerned of my well-being too after the snowboarding sessions. Thank you so much for the enjoyable and wonderful stay at Yuzawa!

Tabataya is a 100+ years family run rest house for skiing/snowboarding at myoko suginohara! The host only speaks Japanese but they are very warm and helpful nonetheless. Ski passes can be bought from them at a discount. I brought my own snowboard so I dont know about rentals. We used yamato transport to courier the boards to and fro the airport and tabataya. The host helped us with arranging the return courier to airport 😊. Although it was slightly pricey but there was value for what we paid. Meals are available at a fixed price of about 3500yen and the chef decides the menu! Although the bathrooms are shared, they are very very clean. Lastly, it is worth noting that the nearby Asakusa onsen ski resort will have more food options and night skiing compared to suginohara. It's my first time experiencing Japow and im glad Myoko is part of this experience 😊 (one of the longest and widest beginner runs)

C'est un hôtel tenu par un couple chinois, où l'on parle aussi bien le chinois que le japonais. L'hôtel est bien équipé, avec son propre restaurant qui propose le petit-déjeuner et le dîner. La salle de bain est dotée d'une baignoire, parfaite pour se détendre après une journée de ski. Ils proposent également un service de navette pour les pistes, ce qui est très pratique. Le propriétaire est très accueillant et attentionné, et la propriétaire est également très chaleureuse, répondant à toutes les demandes et très responsable. Pendant ces deux semaines, j'avais l'habitude de demander de l'aide à la propriétaire pour tout et n'importe quoi, heheh. Merci beaucoup pour votre hospitalité pendant cette période 🙏🏻 J'ai séjourné dans une chambre de style tatami, et de sa fenêtre, j'ai pu observer tous les temps qu'il a fait pendant ces deux semaines ☀️. Pendant ces deux semaines, j'ai rencontré de nouvelles personnes et noué de nouvelles relations, tout le monde était très gentil. Deux semaines, ce n'est ni trop long ni trop court, juste assez pour constituer un beau souvenir. Un choix, une rencontre. La prochaine fois que je viendrai à Naeba, cet endroit restera mon premier choix.

If I had the opportunity, I would come here every year. Some places get better over time and Silver Otawa is one of them. Run for over 40 years, it is a joy to see 3 generations of the family working side by side to make guests stay here so welcoming. My son and I used it as our base for a week of skiing in the myokogen area. Every day we were ferried (complimentarily) to a different ski field. In addition to accommodation and transport, Silver Otawa also rented us ski equipment (so no need to go anywhere else for that!) and we also enjoyed breakfast and dinner there every day - all for a very reasonable price (their multi course dinner was just 2500 yen per person!). Accommodation was spotless clean and service warm, friendly and super professional. I would have no recommendation to recommend you stay at Silver Otawa. Amazing place and true value for money.

Je suis venu ici pendant l'été pour Fuji Rock. Tout est honnête, la chambre est propre et les lits étaient confortables, aircondition. Ne vous attendez pas beaucoup de la chambre, car il n'y a qu'un seul socket de puissance dans la chambre, donc nous avons dû partager. C'est vraiment juste pour dormir. La douche est une salle de bain ouverte commune au Japon et une situation de toilette partagée, donc prenez garde à l'esprit pour les voyageurs qui ne sont pas confortables pour ce genre de choses. Les serviettes sont fournies bien qu'elles soient très petites et fines. Il y a une grande zone libre pour parking près de la place, donc c'est bon. Je pense qu'il serait super pour l'hiver, comme c'est juste près de la gondole, mais nous n'avons pas connu ça.

今回初めて宿泊をしました。建物は新しいものではないような感じがしますが玄関を入った所からすべて雰囲気のある歴史を感じる建物でした。 廊下も長く宴会場もいくつもあり以前は賑わっていたのではないかと感じさせる建物でした。 畳の部屋も綺麗にされていて気持ちよく宿泊することが出来ましたがテレビが小さいのが少し気になった点です。 勧めて頂いた岩風呂露天風呂に朝入りましたが雰囲気が最高でお湯も気持ちよく風呂上りの肌が1日スベスベでした。 朝食会場もおしゃれに造ってあり品数も多く手の込んだ料理が提供されていてとてもおいしかったです。 一緒に行ったもう一人は次からもここに泊まりたいと言ってとても満足していました。 今回は出張で立ち寄らさせて頂きましたがとても気持ちよい時間を過ごさせていただきました。 ありがとうございました。

This place is just 5 minutes away from ishiuchi maruyama ski gondola. Great value place to stay which is easily bookable. Owner provided transfer to and from echigo yuzawa station. Very friendly and even helped to carry the heavy luggage up the car and to our room. No lift access which is very common in smaller places like these. Two private bathhouse available for sharing. Rental price is great and he took great effort in ensuring fit. Also discounted gondola prices available. Breakfast was delicious which was included too. Overall owner and his wife are very warm to all the customers. Would stay here again!

I highly recommend this BnB for anyone planning to ski at Ishiuchi Maruyama Ski Resort. It’s just a 3-minute walk from the north entrance of the resort, making it incredibly convenient. The living environment is pleasant, and the pricing is reasonable. Although the room is only seven tatami mats, it was more than adequate for my wife and me. The host is very friendly and uses a potable translator to communicate with guests, so there’s no need to worry about language barriers. Additionally, she provides delicious meals. Overall, it's a fantastic experience that I would highly recommend!

La chambre de l'hôtel était privée et séparée de toutes les autres chambres, avec un réfrigérateur, une chaudière et un toast. Malheureusement, la température a chuté en dessous de 10C une nuit et la chambre n'a pas été chauffée.

The house is a traditional Japanese building and looks rather like a museum than a hotel. Some facilities are run down and repairs are overdue. However the owner and his wife are very friendly and helpful, they even drove us to the ferry terminal, although we didn't ask for.
