Having stayed at Holiday Villa numerous times, I keep returning for one simple reason: consistency. It has become my go-to choice for trips to Johor Bahru, and it continues to deliver a reliable experience.
Why I keep coming back:
Prime Location: Being located directly opposite KSL City Mall is incredibly convenient. You have immediate access to shopping, dining, and the cinema without the need to navigate heavy traffic or deal with long walks.
Hassle-Free Parking: This is a major selling point. Between the ease of self-parking and the convenience of the valet service (at a reasonable RM35), arrival and departure are always stress-free compared to the often chaotic access at the mall side.
Solid Breakfast: The breakfast variety is surprisingly good, with a nice spread that offers a solid start to the day.
A Note on Value:
I am fully aware that the room rates here are generally higher than at KSL Hotel. While it is a bit more of a premium, I find that the extra cost is absolutely justified by the seamless parking experience, the slightly quieter environment, and the overall maintenance of the property.
Verdict:
If you value efficiency, ease of access, and a hassle-free stay, the slight price premium is worth every penny. I will definitely be returning.

Overall experience is pleasant. The property is near the KSL Mall with nearby coffee shops, spa, and other good cafes.
The room is clean and comes with shower foam and shampoo. Worth it.
The counter staff is friendly and helpful to explain the pointers for check in and check out.

Not bad, its very spacious the room. Maybe can like see can have complimentary cake in the fridge cause it’s my birthday that day. Would be nice to have :) The hotel and mall are linked, very accessible. Perhaps the shampoo and conditioner especially conditioner can be better cause it makes my hair dry after using but overall is ok. Good that there are many lights switch buttons as well

J'ai été très satisfait de mon séjour dans ce B&B. La procédure d'enregistrement était claire, pratique et rapide. The location is considered good as it is within 10min walking distance from KsL shopping mall. The view from the room is also nice. The room is quite big with a comfortable bed and large tv with many channels. However the toilet bowl is not very good as gets clogged easily. Overall a comfortable stay.

Endroit très pratique où séjourner. À proximité du CIQ, je n'ai donc pas à craindre de rater le train pour rentrer. Et depuis le niveau où je suis, je peux surveiller le pont pour vérifier s'il y a un embouteillage. J'étais également heureux de pouvoir m'enregistrer plus tôt pour ranger mes affaires avant de partir faire plus de shopping.

La pièce est un peu plus ancienne que la photo témoin. La propreté est dans des limites acceptables mais n'est pas considérée comme propre. Le prix en vaut largement la peine. Si quelqu'un veut un endroit où séjourner près du centre-ville de JB, cet hôtel est la solution.
La chambre n'est pas très insonorisée. S'il y a des feux d'artifice ou de la musique à l'extérieur, cela peut être entendu très clairement.

Hotel service and staff is excellent! Very spacious room with lesser crowd compared with st Giles at mid valley southkey. Only downside during my stay was that the jacuzzi was under maintenance and hence unable to use. Good gym equipment and nice afternoon tea menu! Definitely will visit again!

— Our First Negative Review Across Travel Platforms
Nest Home is a big operator, this unit is THE most expensive unit in the condo operated by Nest Home. We paid more than RM2,000 for 2 nights for 2 adults + 2 children. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing and, in fact, unhealthy. I am taking the time to write this review to caution future guests who may assume that choosing the most expensive unit means choosing the safest or best option. In our case, that assumption proved wrong.
Good points:
- The location is great, especially for guests who drive. There are plenty of parking spaces, and the condominium has six lifts, which are generally fast and convenient.
- Nest Home’s service response during operating hours, up to midnight, was professional and generally prompt. The check-in process was also convenient and smooth.
- Their guidance and house rules were clear and detailed, and the cafés recommended by them were actually great.
- The listing photos are generally accurate. What you see in the photos is what you get. There is a working mini cinema (although not one-touch and need to try luck for turning on the TV box), and the private cinema feel is there, especially if you already have your own subscribed content and can tolerate the strong formaldehyde smell.
- The castle and slide were fun, and the children enjoyed them, which was a big relief for us. However, I personally have doubts as to whether the playground area is thoroughly cleaned.
- The bedding looked fresh and had a hotel-like feel.
Bad points — which made our 2-night stay a nightmare:
- As shown in the screenshots/photos, the issues were serious and largely self-explanatory.
- The unit may have been recently upgraded or renovated. As a result, the wooden stage/base in the cinema area had a very strong formaldehyde chemical smell. It caused my children and me to cough and tear up. Even after the stay, I am still coughing occasionally.
- There are 2 bedrooms. The unit is supposedly suitable for 4 adults + 2 children, but the bunk bed had a strong formaldehyde smell kept coming out from the bunk bed, and concentrating in the guest bedroom. So 1 out 2 bedrooms was not liveable for our family.
- As shown in the photo, after paying more than RM2,000, 4 of us had to squeeze into 1 bed because the unbearable condition of the guest bedroom. And even this only bedroom we could sleep in had a strong formaldehyde smell coming from the wardrobe, so we tried our best not to use it.
- After we raised the issue to Nest Home, their response was prompt and their action was quick. However, the solution provided, such as fogging, did not effectively address the root cause. I am also not sure whether fogging is even an appropriate solution for a formaldehyde-like smell, or whether it is more suitable for insects. In any event, there was no effective solution during our stay.
- The booking page photos are exactly what you get and please have a second look into the details, which we didn't (yes, you don't even have soap or handwash at basin, Yes, you don't have handtower (there are bath towers), despite the price, forget about comparing amenities to a basic 3-star hotel. You will have to compromise here and there. These small details make a real difference to the overall stay.
- Looking back at past reviews, the cleanliness level is acceptable, but guests should not expect too much. For example, some plastic parts of the bathroom glass doors were yellowish and did not look very clean.
Other than basic sorry words, we DO NOT feel real apologies or sincerity from Nest Home. They keep saying High price because of holiday, and no other guests have these feedback. I suggest they stay in the unit themselves and face the reality. We will stay away from all Nest Home managed properties.
For families with young children, or guests who are sensitive to formaldehyde smells, I would strongly suggest reconsidering before booking this unit.

Is so old and so smelly especially on level 3 where I am staying! The security is not safe and I don’t know how ppl can just bring durian to the hotel, the receptionist n guard did not notice! The whole level is so smelly with durian daily and the water is so cold when showering! The breakfast also not nice n limited and cold .

MMcainLa chambre est spacieuse, propre et bien entretenue, avec une atmosphère confortable et relaxante qui a facilité la dégagement après un long jour. Tout était bien arrangé, et le lit était très confortable, donnant-moi une bonne nuit de repos tout au long de mon séjour.
La chambre est très confortable et très confortable. L'environnement de l'hôtel lui-même était calme et bienvenue, ce qui ajoutait à l'expérience.
Le service était facile de l'entrée à la sortie, ce qui me plaît quand je reste à l'hôtel.
En général, je dirais que l'hôtel Ramada Johor Bahru est une excellente option pour tout le monde à la recherche d'un séjour confortable et sans soucis à Johor Bahru. La chambre East Wing en particulier est certainement la valeur. Je reviendrai heureusement et le recommanderais à d'autres.

QQuiet Miles | Solo Travel After 50We recently stayed at Sunway Grid Loft Suite by Nest Home and found it to be a good option for families and larger groups visiting Johor.
The unit was clean upon arrival and the check-in instructions were clear and easy to follow. As this is a residential apartment rather than a traditional hotel, the self check-in process was straightforward and hassle-free.
One of the biggest advantages of the unit is its size. The loft comes with three queen beds and one sofa bed, making it suitable for larger families or groups who prefer staying together instead of booking multiple hotel rooms. The loft design also helps the apartment feel spacious and comfortable.
The unit includes a kitchen, living area, swimming pool access and gym facilities, which add to the overall convenience of the stay. The residential setting offers a quieter atmosphere compared to many hotels.
Check-in was at 3:00 PM and check-out was at 12:00 PM, which provided a relaxed departure experience.
Overall, Sunway Grid Loft Suite by Nest Home offers good value for families and groups looking for a spacious accommodation option in Johor. The combination of multiple beds, useful facilities and a clean, well-maintained environment made for a comfortable stay.

UUtilisateur anonymeThe room was in a great location and was beautifully decorated with a very nice design. Each bedroom had its own air conditioner and fan, which really helped with the heat in JB. Wi-Fi was provided, and the unit was also equipped with a microwave, water dispenser, and washing machine, making the stay very comfortable and convenient.
One thing to note is that if you’re staying in the master bedroom, the Wi-Fi signal is quite weak as the router seems to be too far away. We ended up using our mobile data most of the time instead.
Some feedback for the owner:
1. Provide more keys/access cards
Since the unit can accommodate up to 6 guests, it is likely to attract larger groups. I stayed with my family of four, and having only one key was quite inconvenient. My parents wanted to return to the room to rest, while my brother and I wanted to meet friends at different locations. However, because the key is required to access the lift, we were unable to split up freely. If one person had the key, everyone else would either need to coordinate their return timing or be unable to access the building independently. Additional keys or access cards would make a big difference for larger groups.
2. Install shower curtains and hooks in the bathrooms
There were no hooks available to hang clothes while showering. As a result, I had to place my dirty clothes on the toilet bowl and my clean clothes on the sink ledge. However, because there was no shower curtain, water splashed throughout the bathroom and even reached the toilet bowl area, causing my clothes to get wet. At the very least, installing a hook behind the bathroom door would help guests keep their clothes dry and off bathroom surfaces.
3. Place air fresheners in the bathrooms
Both bathrooms had a fairly strong sewage smell. Fortunately, keeping the bathroom doors closed prevented the smell from spreading into the bedrooms. However, when using the bathrooms, the odour could be quite overwhelming until shower products such as shampoo helped mask it. Adding air fresheners would greatly improve the bathroom experience.
Overall, we had a great time and would likely book again when we are back.

KKakjaiNous avions réservé un séjour de loisirs pendant le mariage de notre meilleure amie à Setia Tropika, mais nous avons eu un accident dans les 30 minutes qui ont suivi notre arrivée à l'hôtel. Nous sommes très reconnaissants à Cik Apple pour sa sincérité et son empathie. Nous sommes arrivés un peu plus tôt que prévu. Je n'avais aucune idée de ce qu'il en était, car mon mari était sur l'autoroute en attendant que la compagnie d'assurance organise notre véhicule. Mon enfant et moi avons été envoyés à l'hôtel par des inconnus. J'ai tenté ma chance pour demander à Cik Apple si nous pouvions nous enregistrer plus tôt. Cik Apple a vérifié la disponibilité et, oui, nous avons été autorisés à monter plus tôt dans notre chambre. À ce moment-là, la moitié de mes inquiétudes avaient disparu, car j'étais inquiète pour mon bébé. Un groupe de nos amis est venu et a fait un peu de « tumulte » 🤣. J'ai dit à Cik « Lelaki » qu'elle était désolée pour le bruit. Cik « Lelaki » a dit que tout allait bien, que tout était encore sous contrôle. Au fait, j'ai oublié le nom de « lelaki » ; j'ai dû prolonger d'une nuit car mes amis et moi n'avons pas pris les transports en commun pour retourner à Kuala Lumpur. Cette « dame » a géré mes affaires avec beaucoup d'efficacité. Je tiens à la remercier. En fait, tout le personnel était poli ! Pas avare de sourires, pas de jugements, et ne nous a pas mis mal à l'aise. Salut, bravo également au personnel de ménage et de BOH du Goodfood !
